Authenticity and Hospitality is the greatest luxury a visit to Crete's picturesque and historic village of Koutouloufari can offer.
And no place delivers the experience like Creta Blue Suites. The comfort of feeling at home, surrounded by precious details has been our key philosophy, the luxury of discreet elegance and guest service has made this incredible hotel where well-being meets luxury-resort getaway with spectacular views of the Aegean sea and an amazing restaurant on site, with the best local and international wines. We at Creta Blue understand luxury is more than opulent interiors, exquisite service and iconic addresses. True luxury is the gift of unforgettable experiences. It's that moment when you see, hear, taste, touch or feel something as if for the very first time. Capturing that instant in a memory is the hallmark of the very best experiences. And it's our privilege to help you experience this each time you're our guest.
Many of our guests return year after year to carry on this memorable experience with us.We have always been ready to listen to our guests, anticipating their needs and interpreting their desires. Your stay at our hotel is our opportunity to show you Crete the way our island should be experienced – through the eyes of a local family.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We first visited Creta Blue around eight years ago and, after returning again this year, our only question is why on earth did we leave it so long?!
We had an exceptional week from start to finish. This time we chose to stay in the adults-only section and it was absolutely perfect for us. We’ll definitely choose this area every time we return- and will probably be asking for the same room too!
As a busy business owner, I’m usually terrible at properly switching off, but we genuinely did almost nothing for the entire 6 days… and it was bliss. The adults-only pool area was so peaceful, and even the sunbeds deserve a mention — the mattresses are incredibly thick and comfortable and really add to that feeling of luxury. It’s those little details that make such a difference when you’re spending your days doing very little!
Breakfast every morning was amazing — so fresh, plentiful and with plenty of choice. We ate out in the town a few times too, partly because as a non-drinker it gave us something to do in the evenings, but honestly, the food at Creta Blue is very hard to beat. Next time I think we’d probably go half board.
Every single member of staff we encountered was exceptional — friendly, welcoming and genuinely lovely. There’s a warmth about the place that’s difficult to put into words, and perhaps that’s why returning after all those years felt so special.
If I could add just two tiny things, they’d be somewhere to buy ice lollies/ice creams for that mid-afternoon cool-down, and perhaps occasional food and drink service around the adults-only pool. The bar really isn’t far away at all, so neither affected our stay in the slightest — we just felt poolside service would add another little touch of luxury to an already beautiful experience.
We came home feeling like we had actually rested, which for me is a rarity! Creta Blue has firmly gone back onto our list of places we’ll return to again and again.
We certainly won’t be waiting another eight years. 🤍

I went here for my first solo holiday, and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. I had a grand suite which was lovely and clean, and had a balcony facing the sea which was beautiful to wake up to every morning, and my towels were replaced whenever I needed them replacing.
The pool itself is lovely, and there are plenty of sunbeds. The sun beds do tend to be claimed closest to the pool if you wake up at a reasonable time, but to be honest the other ones are only a few steps away so isn’t the worst thing, never had an issue with getting one. The atmosphere is really peaceful and not too noisy, which was a perfect get away for me!
The hotel staff were absolutely lovely, always making sure I had everything I needed and even ended up remembering my order of drinks without having to ask!
The actual location of the hotel is also nice, out of the way of the more touristy areas but a quick two minute walk leads into an amazing village which has amazing restaurants/tavernas and nice shops.
I would absolutely recommend anyone to go here, solo, family or couples!
We’ve just returned from an unforgettable stay at Creta Blue Boutique Hotel, and it’s easy to see why so many guests return year after year. From the moment we arrived, Georgios – the manager and owner – was always on hand, making sure everything ran smoothly and that every guest felt genuinely cared for. His presence sets the tone for the whole hotel.
The staff were brilliant throughout our stay. Star, Lavinia, Sophia, Emily, Glendisa, Divia, Emilio and the rest of the team couldn’t do enough for us. Their warmth and attention to detail added a personal touch that you simply don’t get in larger hotels.
Breakfast was plentiful, fresh, and varied each morning, and dinners were consistently excellent. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with Panoramic Views at the top of the hill. The views were absolutely stunning, but it’s worth noting that the hill is very steep – something to keep in mind if you choose that particular room. The hotel itself isn’t huge, which is part of its charm; it feels intimate, relaxed, and wonderfully personal.
Bars and restaurants are only a 5–10 minute walk away, and we felt very safe walking around at night. We visited Beachcomber Beach, about 15 minutes away, with Georgios kindly arranging the taxi for us. If you’re into golf, the course is also around 15 minutes away – a great but challenging round.
The weather was fantastic, and the whole holiday was incredibly relaxing. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked again for next year. Clearly, they’re doing something right, as most of the people we spoke to were returning guests themselves.
Creta Blue Boutique Hotel is a gem – welcoming, peaceful, and run with genuine care. Highly recommended. See you all next year.
The hotel is beautiful and we had such a lovely and relaxing stay. We enjoyed delicious Cretan food and wines and have special memories to look back on.
The staff are a credit to the owner and to the hotel. They work so hard and always greeted us and guests with such a welcoming and friendly approach.
I’m sure we will visit again in the not-too-distant future.
Creta Blue is a relaxed hotel, just the place to chill and recharge. Very clean room and facilities, with amazing staff!
The staff are all hard working and welcoming, from George to the cleaning ladies. A special mention to Star the ‘I do any job man’ who we have seen him with his toolbox, pool net, helping behind the bar, delivering luggage and generally doing anything that was needed; including being helpful and friendly to guests.
We had a Junior Suite which was directly off the pool, a fantastic position. The room was large with lots of plug sockets, plenty of clothes hangers and drawers/shelves for clothes. The bathroom is large and a separate room, therefore idea for privacy if sharing with a friend. The room had a mini fridge and some cutlery & crockery, with a travel size kettle. No tea/coffee etc. was provided and no iron in the room. Pool towels were provided in the room and shower towels changed daily.
At the time we were staying, padded sun loungers were always available. Being a small hotel, there was no pool side service, but I did see the lady’s bringing drinks/food to guests that had ordered at the bar.
Food excellent! Breakfast is continental in style (no bacon, sausage fry up) you choose the items you are wanting and they are presented on a shared tray to the table. Tea/coffee, juice free access.
The hotel itself is built on the side of an incline, but getting to the hotel from Koutouloufari center is not a constant climb. There is a small climb out of the center, until the turn on to the narrow road/lane leading to the hotel, which is reasonably level. (Returning in the evening this small road is dark in places)
Creta Blue is a lovely place to stay and deserves the good reviews it receives. If/when I visit Koutouloufari again, I’ll be booking this beautiful hotel.
Tips: Understand staying most places in Koutouloufari will involve a hill. Book a private transfer or regular taxi to be able to access the hotel. Being a small hotel, they don’t have 24-hour Reception, so if you arrive late and something is amiss Geroge will put it right in the morning. (a member of night security will have taken you to your room)
