TripAdvisor Review
An honest review!

Overall, we had a lovely stay at Akasha, but here’s our honest review.

We booked a “Dazzling Blue Sea View Room with Outdoor Jacuzzi” and were really looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were shown to a ground-floor room. Although it technically faced the sea, the “sea view” was largely hidden behind wooden shutters, the beach club, sunbeds and palm trees. To actually see the sea, we had to open the shutters completely and peer through the wood, which left our balcony and room directly exposed to the main road. This meant people were constantly walking past, there was a lot of noise throughout the day and evening, and even cats wandered into our room. It didn’t feel particularly private or safe, as it meant we felt reluctant to leave personal items out on the balcony, and we certainly wouldn’t describe it as a true sea view room—at best, it was a partial sea view.

We raised our concerns with reception and, while they did eventually offer to move us, the process involved a lot of unnecessary back and forth. Even after agreeing to relocate us, there was still a lot of insistence that the room matched what we’d booked. However, the hotel’s own website describes this room type as being on the upper level, which is exactly what we had expected. Thankfully, we were moved the following day (which also happened to be my birthday) to the room above. Although the view was still partially obstructed by palm trees, it was a significant improvement and we decided to enjoy the rest of our holiday rather than continue disputing it.

Before arriving, I had also been assured that a birthday cake would be arranged as we were celebrating my birthday during our stay. Unfortunately, this was forgotten. When I mentioned it at check-out, I was told it had been missed because of the room change. While mistakes happen, it would have been nice if there had been some follow-up during our stay, especially given the issues we’d already experienced.

The room itself was beautiful, modern, spotlessly clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The air conditioning also worked brilliantly. Our only real criticism was the lack of soundproofing. The walls seem incredibly thin, and we could hear almost everything happening around us. On two consecutive nights we were kept awake by guests shouting, banging doors and walls, and returning to their rooms drunk at around 5am. We also regularly heard furniture being dragged around late into the night. After reporting the disturbance, we were simply told there wasn’t much that could be done. Fortunately, those guests checked out shortly afterwards and the remainder of our stay was peaceful.

The absolute highlight of our holiday was the incredible staff. Konstantinos at the beach pool, Michael serving on the beach, and Eya in the restaurant were all exceptional. They worked tirelessly throughout the day, always with a smile, and regularly anticipated what we needed before we even asked. On particularly hot days they would even bring us cups of ice for our water without prompting. They genuinely made our holiday special and, in our opinion, they provided the fifth star that truly elevated this hotel. They are an absolute credit to Akasha.

The food was decent, with a good variety available, although we felt it didn’t quite meet our expectations for a five-star all-inclusive resort. Much of the food was warm and sometimes cold (cold chicken) rather than hot. That said, the desserts were excellent, and the restaurant staff were always friendly and happy to help.

One thing that really surprised us was the all-inclusive policy on departure day. Despite paying nearly £7,000 for a 12-night all-inclusive holiday, our all-inclusive package ended at 11:00am, even though our airport transfer wasn’t until 7:55pm. We had to speak with reception, who were initially reluctant to extend it, but eventually agreed to allow us to remain all-inclusive until 3:00pm, which we appreciated. However, for the amount paid, we don’t feel this should have required us to ask.

Overall, we did enjoy our stay at Akasha. The hotel is beautiful, the location is stunning, and the staff were genuinely fantastic. There were, however, several aspects that fell short of what we’d expect from a luxury five-star resort, particularly considering the price. Would we return? Possibly—but we’d avoid the jacuzzi sea view rooms and save the extra money. We’d also recommend being prepared for the daily race to reserve sunbeds around the main pool!

With a few improvements, particularly around customer service consistency and room descriptions, Akasha could easily deliver the five-star experience it promises.

An exceptional stay

From the moment we arrived at Akasha, we knew we’d chosen somewhere special. The hotel is absolutely stunning – beautifully designed with a luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere, and every corner feels immaculate. There are so many different places to unwind, from the various pools to the beach area, that we genuinely never felt the need to leave the resort. Every day felt like discovering a new favourite spot to relax with a book or soak up the sunshine.

The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Every member of staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile and happy to help with anything we needed. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and it was clear that everyone took great pride in making guests feel looked after.

One of the unexpected highlights of our holiday was practising our Greek with the staff. They were so patient, encouraging and happy to teach us new words and phrases, which made our stay feel even more authentic and memorable. Our Greek definitely improved by the end of the week!

A very special thank you to Eva, who made us feel at home from our very first breakfast. She welcomed us with such genuine warmth and kindness that it immediately set the tone for the rest of our holiday. Every morning she remembered us, took the time to chat, encouraged our Greek and always made us feel like valued guests rather than just another room number. It’s people like Eva who turn a wonderful hotel into one you’ll want to return to again and again.

We left feeling relaxed, refreshed and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you to everyone at Akasha for such a memorable stay – we couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Best service!!! Joanna & maria

I stayed at the hotel with my family this week, and I must highlight the excellent service here. I want to give a special mention to Joanna and Maria also Panos from the restaurant, they made sure I had the food I liked at every meal, even if it wasn't on the day's menu. They were always kind, courteous, and smiling. There is no doubt I will return—largely thanks to them and their wonderful manager. Thank you very much, Joanna and Maria; the vacation was more enjoyable thanks to you.

An Unforgettable Stay

Our stay at Akasha Hotel was truly exceptional. The level of service was outstanding from start to finish, and every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome and well taken care of.

A special thank you to Eva and Konstantinos, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made all the difference.

This is a well-deserved 5-star rating for a true 5-star hotel.

The only small downside was that many guests would gather early in the morning to reserve sunbeds. However, this was entirely due to the behavior of some guests and had absolutely nothing to do with the hotel or its wonderful staff.

We would definitely recommend Akasha Hotel and would love to return!
