In the heart of Heraklion city, this beautiful hotel stands out with a distinct character. Modern, contemporary furnishing with all the facilities and amenities allow guests to enjoy luxury accommodation on the island of Crete, with the high-tech additions that enable them to connect to the world and still cherish traditional style and elegance. In the surrounding area, there are many dining and entertaining venues. The airport is just about 10 minutes’ drive away. Visitors can enjoy a delicious meal along with an agreeable atmosphere in the property. The rooms have been decorated with a combination of light and vibrant colours that will please each guest. They also feature all the amenities needed for the best and most memorable stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This hotel cold plop itself in the middle of Paris and it would fit right in. Designed European-style, the shower, and toilet are in separate areas, as is the sink. TV stations (other than Greek) are mostly French (no CNN or BBC) There are electrical outlets everywhere you need them. Amenities include a nice coffee/tea setup, and two bottles of water each day. My rooms’ (201) balcony overlooked a quiet little square surrounded by cafes.
The breakfast buffet is superlative so don’t be in a rush, and take time enjoy everything.
There is a coffee shop in the lobby which extends out onto the sidewalk. I particularly liked their pumpkin soup and bread service for a light dinner. Their iced coffees are delicious. They offer a 20% discount on food if staying at the hotel.
The location is excellent - two short blocks to Heraklion’s Archaeological Museum and a 5 minute walk to the main pedestrian shopping area. You are in a little neighborhood and everything you might need is nearby: supermarket, self-service laundry, beauty salon, cute shops, etc.
I would stay here again.
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Heraklion city. We arrived at night. From the airport we took bus number 12 heading towards Heraklion town. Another bus which also goes there is bus number 6. The kiosk for tickets was closed when we arrived. We had two options, that is to buy our tickets on the bus with the bus driver for 2 euros per person or buy from the ticket machine at the bus stop for €1.20. It took us 20 minutes to get to the centre. From the Airport you will need to get off at Eleftherias Square and the hotel is a few yards from there. Going to the airport you can catch the airport bus from Eleftherias Square where the tour buses stop. The journey to the airport is less than 20 mins. Olive Green Hotel is really in a beautiful location with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Most attractions are also near and can be reached on foot. You have also the hop on and hop off buses making ones stay very enjoyable. The hotel has modern furnishings, beautiful decor, very comfy beds, tasty breakfast in the morning and a wonderful bar. The Hotel staff there are exceptional, friendly and very professional and always ensure that you have the best stay ever. I would like to thank all the staff in reception for their help during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We cannot wait for another visit.😀
I found the olive green tones of the hotel interior space and my room, created a relaxing and soothing vibe. My huge bed was scrupulously clean and the whole space gave me a sense of attention to detail and good hygiene practices. All staff members I encountered were professional, yet approachable and listened well. In the room, it was evident that much consideration had gone into the overall design, for instance the lights could be operated independently of each other, and were in all the right places, impressive. A Samsung tablet was provided to control the lighting and climate, without getting up!, if one so desired. However, i found the ventilation/ heat arrangements did not need any adjustment. Of course I kept the balcony door open daytimes. The wet room was well organised, with double hooks on the far side, where towels could be safely hung to wrap up in before opening the shower door. I enjoyed having a choice of seating, in or out for my main meal. The breakfast and meal menus were as expected, good quality. All was extremely well presented and managed - a slick operation- Bravo! The location was most convenient, 5 minutes (max) walk to Freedom Square, Hondos centre or Morozini Fountain. Archaeological museum 5 minutes. Historical museum of Crete 20 mins walk.
We have just Spent 3 nights here. The Staff throughout are very friendly and helpful. Our Room was Very Clean and the Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was a high standard and many things to choose from.We also ate in the Restaurant arwa in the main bar several times. The food was really good. We enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel and we would definitely stay here again in the future.
Everything walkable from hotel. Stayed on 5th floor. Windows kept room quiet but if we wanted to hear outside we could step out on balcony. Close, within 10 min walk, to restaurants, shopping.and sea. Nice breakfast. Concierge type service from one of the front desk ladies. Attractive, clean room.
