Enorme Maya Beach Resort

Hi just cum back from enorme maya hotel it rained a few days usual for Crete we went last year celebrated our 48 yr anniversary this year 49 th we heard Nicki had left to go to Germany she was lovely but katareana in the restaurant was there she remembered us and sofos a young lad who was training to be a electriction he was so funny every morning he put a smile on our faces along with adrianna too lovely person also lovely Clare all from restaurant pls keep these people they are a gift to your hotel on the morning we got two bottles water for the bus off the boss can’t ask for better than that this hotel is adult only food ok too a bout 15 mins walk u cum to all the shops and theys the island restaurant it’s a special place the meals are great keep up your gud work enorme maya beach hotel thanks hope to see you soon xx

The location of the hotel is fantastic, situated within a 10 minute walk of 3 supermarkets, 5 restaurants/bars, and multiple beaches/beach clubs. We came to Gouves 2 years ago and loved the area but this was our first time at the Enorme Maya. It’s also very well-placed for boats trips, being only a short walk from the marina.

There admittedly wasn’t much atmosphere in the hotel itself, on most nights we were the only guests in the bar on an evening, though I’m sure this is different in the height of summer.

Our room was spotlessly clean every day and the size was brilliant, our room face the children’s play area of the bar on the front, but there wasn’t much noise and when there was we closed the window and the room was surprisingly well sound-proofed.

The hotel was brilliant value for money. Admittedly we spent a rather large amount on drinks, so an all-inclusive option would be nice, though we can understand why this isn’t currently an option.

The massages were very relaxing, our masseuse Ifigenia was amazing and helped us fully unwind and de-stress, providing information on all the different treatments and helping us choose the one most beneficial to us.

Lastly, the highlight of our holiday was the staff at Enorme Maya, everyone was ready to help at the drop of a hat, the reception staff always on-hand, the cleaners were extremely thorough, the staff working the restaurant were attentive, the chefs cooked flavourful, delicious food every breakfast, evening (and lunch time in the à la carte restaurant), and the bar staff on an evening were phenomenal.

Given that we spent the majority of our 10 nights being the only guests in the bar, we became quite close to the the bar staff who were fantastic in making conversation, giving drink recommendations, getting to know us as well as the drinks we like and our preferences. The evening bar staff were absolutely the highlight of our trip and the reason that we will be returning to the Enorme Maya.

Given some of the reviews and the weather forecast. We headed on this holiday expecting something akin to Faulty Towers. We arrived very late but were welcomed with a beer and a wrap, and allocated room 314. The room was on the 1st floor and had a large private terrace with sun beds, could not fault the room nor the view or the upkeep and cleanliness of the room throughout our stay. The hotel food was very good, we’ll usually head out for a couple of nights elsewhere but didn’t feel the need, also did the à la carte one evening. The pool area was very nice, always beds available, although the pool was like an ice bath. Met some lovely guests and staff, really nice atmosphere even when the weather did turn midweek. I do get some of the comments that the hotel is a little tired looking in some areas, but we couldn’t fault it and had an excellent time.
