Maya beach hotel is a four-star (4****) elegant seaside hotel, completely renovated in 2017/2018, comfortable, which lays harmoniously within the large new green gardens and great sea view as its situated 10 meters from the shore. All our rooms are fully renovated the year 2018 with a modern design by our award winning architect team as is all the main reception, restaurant and public spaces of the hotel. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Gouves, about 18 km from the airport of Heraklion and about 10 km from Hersonissos.The center of Gouves where you can find shops, taverns and bars is about 800 meters from the hotel. The hotel is situated just 10 meters from the rocky shore but the sandy beach is located about 150 meters from the hotel.The Easy access to the main road makes it easy for anyone who wishes to visit Knossos, Cretaquarium and Heraklion which is the capital of the island where the second largest archaeological museum in Greece is located. Adults only accommadation .The hotel offers outdoor swimming pool, terrace with sunbeds and Umbrellas, Gazebos, a snack bar and a restaurant, a lovely garden, table tennis ,darts , parking area, luggage storage, 24h reception, lobby and lounge, multilingual staff, wake up service, banquet facilities, room service, at exra charge , internet corner, non smoking areas and rooms .

Simply fantastic !
I will as honest as possible & to start with I have to say this hotel is wonderful !!! The staff are just the best,our room was great & the food………..oh my the food !!! Just wow ! Something for everyone & just so much choice.The different theme nights are also very good so you can have something different every night.
The hotel staff just can’t do enough for you & they are all so wonderful & work so very hard so thank you to each & every one of you
Sun beds We didn’t find a problem with getting a sun bed & I suppose as usual abroad you just have to be prepared to get up a bit early to reserve the best beds but there’s plenty of sun beds both around the pool area & out the back near to where the bar area is.Theres also lots of bean bags dotted around the complex but be careful as I was ok getting on them but getting off was a different ball game lol
Just take care putting your things down near the pool area as some areas have a lot of ants so a good tip is to take say a little bungee cord or 2 to hang on the inside of the parasol for bags,clothes etc to avoid the ants getting everywhere.
Please remember that Crete is an island so you will hear aircraft noise-this simply was not an issue with me at all but did hear people moaning about the noise so again all I can say is do your research but to these people I’d also say an island holiday is probably not for them !
Rooms Out of the back of the hotel there is an independent children’s play area with bouncy castles which for some guests on opening your curtains you were looking at a tigers bum hole-not ideal lol The hotel are trying their best to resolve this & I do know of some guests having to be moved to another room but the hotel will do as much as they can for you if this happens to you but it certainly isn’t a fault of the hotel
Massage
The massages are just fantastic at the hotel but I think they need to readdress the ladies from the spa walking round everyday trying to sell you one.Surely it would be easier to have a leaflet in your room with prices on & you can then just go & book yourself! There is a left let on the desk next to the reception area but we,like a lot of other guests made the mistake of reading the time for each treatment as the price lol so you don’t know the prices until the lady talks to you about it.It became quite annoying on a 2 week holiday that after 11 or 12 days there the same lady from the spa would greet you with-‘hello,is it your 1st day’ ha ha no love it’s not but am I still looking THAT pale 😆
We were lucky enough to have room 319 & it was very spacious.The shower was great & yes the TV only has 1 English Channel but again not a problem for my parter & I as we didn’t watch it ! Another thing to add is bring a few of your own coat hangers as there simply isn’t enough
Other reviews have said how quiet Gouves is but I disagree as a 10/15 stroll takes you passed Island restaurant & then your next right turn (where the beach ends) takes you up to some lovely restaurants & bars.One that we visited a few times was Central Bar-this had music/singers on nearly every night & had such a great time in there so highly recommend this place but there’s other bars you can sit at & just relax & watch the world go by.
The Anfield Bar just outside the hotel is a great bar & the food in there is great-especially the burgers !!! Yep the hotel is half board but sometimes nice to get out & give the locals some cash.Another good recommendation is 2 Friends Greek restaurant which is literally a 5 minute walk up the beach front with some outstanding traditional Greek food
Overall we had the best holiday & we are booking to go back to Enorme Maya next year!

Perfect relaxing pool holiday.
We had a really great, relaxing time at this lovely hotel. The room was fine with great aircon - perfect for a pool holiday. The pool area was spotless and the pool itself was clean and never busy. The food and restaurant was amongst the nicest buffet-type experiences we’ve had with lots of variety- again immaculately presented. Most of all the staff were absolutely lovely- friendly, helpful and they literally could not do enough for you. On arrival we did think it was a little small with the sun beds close together but in the end this made no difference. We had a really needed relaxing holiday and would like to thank the staff for all they did to make this possible. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

very nice
Nice, clean, quiet, excellent hotel staff, great food - good idea /every evening a different cuisine - italian, mexico, asia, greek, ... very fresh/. Also breakfast excellent. Plus a bottle of red wine on the house. I want to go back there right now !

Relaxing holiday
Staff very welcoming on arrival, complimentary drink offered which wasn’t expected. Room clean and tidy. Bathroom a little bit dark when in shower, could have done with extra light facing into shower. Light outside our balcony/terrace area didn’t work so was a little dark when trying to get back in room on a night. Would recommend that people don’t eat around pool area due to ants but daytime snack food fantastic, and cocktails. Evening meals were lukewarm and not really to our taste but good choice. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return and recommend to friends if you’re looking for a relaxing holiday.
