Overall a pleasant holiday, but far from 5 star service
We stayed for 7 nights at this hotel with our 1 our year old baby. I have to agree with others reviews, the hotel has great potential, but is far from 5 stars for what is offers.
The positives: Great views, beautiful private sandy beach, sunbeds included, never struggled to find one, regardless of the time of the day. Same applies for pool area.
The issues we has with our room were sorted out immediately. Requested 2 side guards for the bed, they provided. Also asked for a topper, since the 2 single beds kept coming apart and our toddler would fall between them during the night. They solved that as well promptly.
Great variety of food, never struggled to find something for my child, although he is just 1, we always managed to find something healthy for him to eat.
Friendly staff, apart from one lady, will detail at negatives.
The negatives: The property is full of ants, and they are present in the room as well. The main restaurant is very crowded sometimes feels like a caffeteria and you struggle to find a table - lines form in front of the restaurant at some peak hours There is a lady at the tasty corner who was rude at several occasions, once he even shouted at my husband which is totally unacceptable. Really ruined our mood… Bottled water is not included in half board which I found really odd. A bottle of water should really be provided at dinner as a minimun…
Overall, it was okay, but expected more for the price tag and star rating advertised.

Best family experience
Happy to come back to this beautiful place. Everything was great, the room, the staff, the overall athmosphere. Food was great, especially the cretan/greek one. Pools were nice, but the beach with the finest sand ever was great. The resort is exactly what a family needs: places for every age to enjoy, lots of trees and shadow, and above all quiet, no loud music. Shurely a place to come again.

Wonderful Stay at Pilot Beach Resort
Our stay at Pilot Beach Resort was amazing. Everything exceeded our expectations – comfortable rooms, excellent service, tasty food, and a beautiful beach. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. The housekeeping staff cleaned the room regularly and changed the towels every day. There were always enough toiletries for showering. The only minor issue was that sometimes in the evening there was a slight sewage smell coming from outside, but it didn't affect our overall stay.
Fantastic stay in a wonderful hotel
First of all I would like to say thanks to the entire team for the wonderful time we could spent in this hotel. It was great in all manners!
Here some further comments: We (couple with 2 kids) spent 10 nights in the hotel (half board). The hotel is located at the sand beach. Most of the days the gently sloping beach allowed even small kids to play in the water. There are plenty of beach loungers and parsols. No fees. There is a bar available. But for heavy drinkers it might be an annoying walking distance. We stayed in a bungalow with pool view which was very spacious, clean and air conditioned. Nothing to complain. Our room was on ground floor with 10m to the pool. The hotel has several pools. Our bungalow was more at a part of the hotel with many families. So many kids, but not too noisy. The food in the restaurants was great! We have travelled to Turkey several times. But the food quality is a completely different world. Instead of cheap chicken the Pilot Beach hotel offers a big veriety of beef and lamb and sea food a long with tasty side dishes. Additionally they offer some special food experiences charging a fee. We booked the Cretan night and it was a great mix of good food together with music and dance.
Also the gardening team does a great job. Beautiful flowers, fruit trees with beautiful blossoms and a well-kept lawn.
There a more positive experience to share. But let me highlight one more thing: with your room key card you can pay all extras, food and drinks (if half board), spa treatments etc. No need to have cash or credit card with you. Billing is done when you check out. A hotel app allows booking of tables and spa treatments etc.
All in all we were very happy with our stay and we 100% recommend this hotel!
Excellent All-Around Experience at Pilot Beach Resort
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Pilot Beach Resort in Crete. Everything about the resort exceeded our expectations.
The dining options were outstanding — the vast selection of food ensured there was something for everyone in our family, and meals were consistently high quality. The kids’ shows were a highlight, keeping our children entertained throughout the day while we relaxed.
What impressed us most was the exceptional service and warmth of the staff. Every member of the team was genuinely kind and helpful. From the moment we arrived, the personal attention to our needs made us feel truly welcomed. We particularly appreciated the staff’s assistance with our luggage and the thoughtful gift we received at checkout — a lovely touch that left a lasting impression.
