- Hydramis Palace Beach Resort

The hotel lies 5 km away from the picturesque village of Georgioupolis, known for its long, sandy beaches and the breath-taking views of the Cretan mountains. The hotel is located 95 km from Heraklion International airport and 55 km from the International airport of Chania. The town of Rethymno, 16 km to the east, offers a wide selection of tavernas, bars and night-clubs. The hotel offers various leisure activities. On the beach there are sunbeds, parasols and beach volleyball. There is an outdoors freshwater swimming and a fully equipped gym. At a short distance from the hotel there are horseback riding, scuba diving and other water sports facilities. The resort offers a conference room theatre style and classroom style with audio-visual equipment. All rooms are well-equipped as standard and feature a balcony or terrace with magnificent views.
A good hotel, but definitely not 5 star. The rooms are a bit outdated, and the bathrooms could do with a thorough clean…only because the shower had some mould in the grouting. We had the all inclusive option, and whilst the food was decent, the alcoholic drinks were awful. It tasted cheap, and there was not a great variety. The reception staff were great and very welcoming, as were the restaurant staff, even the cleaners were great, but the bar staff were awful, both inside at reception, and at the pool bar. They were not friendly, and seemed to grudgingly pour our drinks. We ended up buying the nicer drinks. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I wouldn’t do the all inclusive option again.
The swimming pool water is way too cold. It's 11th May and the water should have been warmer so tourists could enjoy their holiday. At least the kids pool. All todlers are watching the pool and can't enjoy it.. Even the water in the shower is too cold.
An Exceptional Experience at Hydramis Palace – A Place That Feels Like Family My stay at Hydramis Palace was truly unforgettable and exceeded every expectation I had. I am so glad I picked this place to celebrate my bday this year. From the moment I arrived, I could feel that this hotel is run differently. There is a genuine culture of hospitality, care, professionalism, and pride that flows throughout the entire property. The location is absolutely stunning. My room was situated right next to the beach, allowing me to fall asleep every night to the soothing sound of the waves and wake up feeling refreshed and deeply rested. The sunsets were breathtaking, and the hotel’s position offers beautiful views that create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout the day. The hotel has amazing flowers and herbs of all of my favorite kinds so the aroma was beautiful day and night. What impressed me most, however, was the people. A special thank you to Najeh, the star supervisor, whose warmth, professionalism, and dedication to guests experience are truly exceptional. She leads with heart, kindness, and attention to detail, making every guest feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. I would also like to recognize the owner, Stelios, whose leadership sets the tone for the entire hotel. It is rare to see an owner so present, engaged, and genuinely invested in both the guests and the team. Their example as great leaders is reflected throughout the staff, creating an environment where people clearly care about what they do and go above and beyond to ensure guests have an outstanding experience. The food was excellent throughout my stay. There was always a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, ensuring that every guest could find something they enjoyed. What made the experience even more special was the personal attention. Every morning, my favorite breakfast was prepared and ready for me without having to ask or remind anyone. Those thoughtful details make all the difference. Another highlight of my stay was the evening entertainment, which added so much joy, energy, and unforgettable memories to the experience. Every night offered something different, from live music and themed evenings to traditional Greek dance performances that allowed guests to experience the beauty and spirit of Greek culture. One of my favorite memories was being invited to dance with the professional Greek dancers during one of the shows, creating a truly special and authentic experience that I will never forget. The entertainment team did an outstanding job bringing people together and creating an atmosphere of fun and celebration. Yasser: the lead animator, had a remarkable ability to read the crowd and play music that guests genuinely enjoyed, ensuring the dance floor was always full of positive energy. Many hotels offer entertainment, but at Hydramis Palace it felt personal, engaging, and filled with heart. The evenings became one of the most memorable parts of my stay and contributed greatly to the warm sense of community that makes this hotel so special. What makes Hydramis Palace special to me, is that it offers far more than beautiful facilities. A lot of 5 stars hotels offer great accommodations but something is missing ! Palace offers an experience. The staff remember you. They care. They notice the small details. They create an atmosphere where guests feel not like room numbers, but like welcomed members of an extended family. Throughout my stay, I met wonderful people, created beautiful memories, enjoyed incredible excursions around Crete, and always looked forward to returning “home” to Hydramis Palace at the end of each day. If you are looking for a hotel with stunning views, excellent food, outstanding service, authentic hospitality, and leadership that genuinely cares about people, I wholeheartedly recommend Hydramis Palace. Thank you to Stelios, Najeh, and the entire team for making my birthday trip to Crete so memorable. I arrived as a guest and left feeling like family. I look forward to returning soon ! 💜
I travelled at the end of May with my husband and adult son, We had a really lovely time at this hotel. Not every aspect was 5 star in our opinion, but I'd definitely give it a 5 star rating for staff friendliness and helpfulness, the lovely food (especially the greek dishes, which I love, and the sleep quality... we all found the beds and pillows really comfortable. Some areas were a little dated, but really clean, which is the main thing for us, and the cocktails weren't to my taste, but the local ouzo, wine and beer were fine.
It was very early in the season, so we knew that there was a possibility of mixed weather, but didn't plan for how cold it was after the first 3 days. Such a shame because May day is a really big thing in Greece, and locals gather wild flowers and picnic, but sadly it was recorded the coldest May Day for 70 years! The hotel staff and management didn't let it dampen their spirits though with Wreath making and Raki on the hotel agenda, a lovely time was had!
We hired a car for the week which I would recommend as the hotel is situated about 3 miles from Georgiopolis. Lots of parking available. We walked to lake Kournas which was lovely (also about 3 miles each way. The staff were really helpful in suggesting places to visit.
The hotel was on the beach, and the sea could be accessed easily, but it was a bit stoney, so beach shoes are recommended. The pool was lovely, The entertainment was only just starting from 1st of may, so we didn't have a big experience of what's to offer ,but the entertainment manager was friendly.
This is by far one of the best resorts I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The staff is very friendly and the Manager was wonderful and very helpful. Food was also delicious and satisfying with great selection that will satisfy any palette. Beach and pool were also fantastic. I would recommend to anyone!
