Georgioupolis Beach

We booked our stay at Georgioupolis Beach Hotel through the Lastminute website, expecting a good 4-star hotel. After spending 4 nights here, we genuinely believe it deserves 5 stars.

We stayed in two interconnected rooms for two adults and two children, which worked perfectly for our family. The rooms were modern, spacious, and spotless, with excellent air conditioning, Smart TVs, balconies, and one room even included a kitchenette. We also appreciated the little touches like slippers, bathrobes, and plenty of towels for both the pool and the bathroom.

Breakfast was served in a lovely, air-conditioned dining room next to reception. The buffet offered a fantastic selection of tea, coffee, fresh orange juice, continental options, and hot breakfast items including bacon, sausages, and three different types of cooked eggs. There were also plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables, pastries, and sweets, which our children absolutely loved.

As we booked half board, we enjoyed dinner every evening at the rooftop restaurant. The food was outstanding, with freshly prepared seafood, fish, traditional Greek dishes, and plenty of options for children, including burgers, pizza, and pasta. Every meal was delicious, and the rooftop setting made dinner even more special.

My wife and daughter also joined a Pilates class on the rooftop deck, which they really enjoyed. The hotel has excellent wellness facilities, including several sunbathing areas, a jacuzzi, cold plunge pool, sauna, and a small gym. We made good use of all of them during our stay.

On our last day, we checked out at noon but were able to leave our luggage at reception and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. Before our taxi arrived, the hotel kindly provided us with a shower room and fresh towels, which was a wonderful touch and made travelling home much more comfortable.

The sandy beach is directly across the road and is ideal for families with children thanks to its shallow, gently sloping entrance into the sea. The beach is clean and well maintained. Although the hotel doesn't provide sunbeds on the beach, there is a free area where you can lay your towels, or you can rent two sunbeds and an umbrella for €12 per day.

The hotel also offers massage treatments, free Wi-Fi, an internet corner, a pool table, bicycle rental, and a lovely pool bar serving food from midday. We also enjoyed some fantastic ice creams there.

Most importantly, every member of staff was friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help.

We usually choose a different Greek island and hotel every year, but Georgioupolis Beach Hotel has become one of those rare places we'll definitely return to. We couldn't fault a single thing and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing family holiday in Crete.

The entire stay way perfect, the hotel is a great location, the staff were superb.

We stayed half board and ate every evening at the roof top restaurant. Usually we would try other restaurants but the food choice and quality were so good to didn’t need too.

I would recommend the restaurant- even if you don’t stay at the hotel.

Had a great stay the Georgioupolis Beach Hotel. The hotel is in a great location steps away from the beach front, town, restaurants and shops. The food at both breakfast and in the evening was excellent. We were half board and ate at the hotel restaurant every night. We would normally try other places but the food was really good so didn’t feel the need to. It’s a great base to explore this area of Crete from, from both the car and on excursions.
