Located in a paradisiacal setting and overlooking the sea, immersed in a relaxing and beautiful Mediterranean atmosphere, this marvellous hotel is the ideal choice of accommodation for everyone in search of a place to stay where they can recharge their batteries. Those interested in history may appreciate the main two archeological sites in the region. The property is a mere 12 km from the popular Agios Nikolaos city and there is a bus stop only 70 metres away. All guest rooms and suites are individually designed and fully furnished with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Each of them is decorated in warm and earthy hues, allowing its visitors to find their balance between body and soul. Guests can enjoy the stunning views from the roof top garden and enjoy a relaxing bath at the great swimming pool or at the convenient private beach with free parasols and sun-loungers.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Great atmosphere with a friendly and professional team. Rooms were clean , bright and well equipped. The food was exceptional with a great variety. A special mention too for the sea fronted restaurant which we found to be the best in the area. The fish dishes were sensational.
Only niggle....more sun loungers please and a handrail to tackle the steps to the swimming pool.
Well done to the Blue Sea Team, in particular Katarina, Giorgos, Kleo, Christie and Bruno. The welcome, food and service was exceptional.
First of all let me say that the Akti Olous is in a fantastic position, lots of shops and restaurants in very close proximity and literally just a 10 minute walk to the square in the middle of Elounda. The all staff were also fantastic, especially Zak on reception and Valentina who was our room attendant. The whole place is beautifully clean and the decor is great. We stayed bed and breakfast, lovely selection of everything that you could possibly want for breakfast, hot and cold selection. The one big thing which did affect our enjoyment was the view from our room. We paid extra for a side sea view, which is exactly what we got, we could definitely see the sea, if when we looked down from the balcony the view was dreadful. Lots of people have mentioned garden views in previous posts but I genuinely didn’t realise that the view was going to be that bad. Completely put us off spending any time on our balcony ( which we usually always do) in the evening before we went out. I’ve added 3 photos for reference, make your own mind up before you book.
The positives : this adult only hotel has stunning views especially from the sky bar The staff are very helpful and friendly It has a great location with only a 5 minute walk into the town where there are many bars and places to eat The room we had was nice and clean and all essentials provided - fridge , hairdryer , tea/coffee Good air con in the room We had a Big balcony with sun beds Good food and a big choice of drinks at a reasonable price in the sky bar Great breakfast with plenty of choice
The negatives: our room had a very hard bed however when I asked for a mattress topper it was given to us straight away Only 10 sunbeds around the pool that had umbrellas - if you have come to sunbath/sit around the pool there is not much of a chance as people get there early and take the sunbeds (i went at 8.30 and nowhere to go) There are bean bags also around the pool but no shade where they are There is a small beach but again all the sunbeds taken early I do appreciate it is only a small hotel with no room to put any more sunbeds I could have sat on my sunbed on my balcony but there is zero shade until about 4PM and no umbrella provided
What a fabulous little boutique hotel. The room was lovely, not huge, but everything we needed and perfectly clean. Lovely view from the balcony (side sea view). The breakfast has plenty of choice the freshly squeezed orange juice was a lovely touch. The pool area and the Sky Bar are beautiful laid out and lying on the comfy loungers with the sea lapping up was wonderful. Yes, there aren’t a lot of loungers but there was so much to see and do in the area that we didn’t head to the beach or pool until late afternoon and we always got loungers or comfy beanbags. The staff were lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel and Elounda in general.
