Some good points some bad
We stayed here 2weeks ago for a week ina junior suite with private pool. We arrived in the early hours of the morning due to flight delay. The staff were very helpful and golf buggied us to our room which was on the lowet level of the village. Beautiful clean room and pool. On going to breakfast the next morning we realised just how far and up many hills to the resturant. Def not for unfit or disabled persons. The food was disappointing. Same food every night except for one night then exactly the same. If you have young children def not recommended as not much there children would like to eat. There is also no entertainment which didnt bother us as not into. The hotel is very remote and the local beach very rocky. We did have a day in the town and the beach was delightful. This hotel has its ups and downs. Beautiful scenery gorgeous sunsets lovely pool areas on the downside the food and the very steep walk to the resturant. Would maybe go back. Resturant staff lovely and lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Good but not 5*
The location of this hotel is quite poor, so if you enjoy going out to local taverns and bars, this place is definitely not for you as there is absolutely nothing around. It is only okay if you plan to stay within the resort the entire time. The beach, which in my opinion is rather poor, is either a 40-minute walk away or requires a bus ride, with buses running every 30 minutes. On the bright side, the pool area and the surroundings are great. There is plenty of space, and the five pools are more than enough. Additionally, the sunset view from the top of the property is absolutely amazing. My room was definitely not up to a 5-star standard, and I would rate it a maximum of 3 stars. The photos shown in the official offer most likely feature only the deluxe rooms with private pools. In reality, everything in the standard room felt very average, and there was a constant bad smell in the toilet. The only excellent thing about the room was the bed, which was very comfortable. The overall atmosphere was decent, typical for an all-inclusive resort, but there was not much to do. There were no animators and very few events, with only two small parties that lasted about 2 to 3 hours each. The staff was very good, but special kudos go to Kostas the bartender. He was incredible and went above and beyond to keep the guests entertained and happy. The food was good, though not phenomenal, but all in all, you could almost always find something tasty to eat. There was a lot of British-style food on offer, probably because about 80% of the guests were British. I paid 2000 PLN on a last-minute deal, which was a good value for that price. However, for the regular price of 3500–4500 PLN, it is definitely not worth it, and I would not recommend it at that price point.
A calm oasis with exceptional hospitality
RG Village Crete offers a wonderful sense of peace from the moment you arrive. The natural surroundings are beautiful and create a relaxing atmosphere. The food was consistently excellent, the drinks were well prepared, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit.
3 star at most based on food and amenities
Have just visited with my family. While I don’t think the images online do the hotel justice as the grounds are lovely and plenty of pools and seating areas to choose from. I would say a lot of things negatively impact the hotel. I have found a lot of staff extremely rude who look at you with annoyance including the manager. The lady in the coffee hut is the best thing about the hotel. The food is not great the same options night & day and all of average taste. Can say I have not enjoyed 1 meal. To eat out is a bit of a jaunt however you can get a bus for €11 each return. Check out is 11am we asked for a late checkout of a couple hours and where charged €25 which is outlandish in my view. Bring own beach towels as you will be charged €20 deposit per towel, one of ours mysteriously vanished from our balcony over night so no deposit back. I think the 5 star rating is a hugely fast representation and only there because the tourist tax is charged higher if the hotel is 5 star so be prepared to pay over €100 in tourist tax on top of your stay and of course pay for absolutely anything extra that you need including a 2 hour later check out. Highly disappointed and wouldn’t return
Great hotel!
The Highlights: We have had an absolutely fantastic stay at RG Village in Crete! The hotel features a beautiful structure with very well-maintained, gorgeous gardens, and the pools are lovely.
A huge part of what made our holiday so special was Konstantina at the Diesi bar. She is genuinely one of the warmest, funniest, and most welcoming people we have ever met on holiday. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely at home with her great sense of humor and incredibly accommodating nature. She also has brilliant taste in music and always kept the vibe perfect. She is an absolute credit to RG Village and turned a great holiday into a really memorable one.we will genuinely miss her!
We also want to give a special mention to Michael and Vlada, who organized our excursions. They were both absolutely terrific, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend the best trips. Their enthusiasm made booking effortless.
Things to Note for Future Travelers: While our experience with the staff was stellar, there are a few practical details to keep in mind. The hotel is quite isolated—the actual beach is about 4.2km away (rather than the 1km listed) and requires a shuttle. The beach is public, and drinks at the "Paraplous" bar there are not included. Additionally, the tourist tax is €15/day, the shuttle to the beautiful town of Rethymno is €11 round trip, and all-inclusive alcohol starts at 19:00.
Overall, the stunning grounds and world-class staff made this a wonderful getaway
