The resort is located by the sea, close to a small, rocky inlet of sand. It is just 1 km from Agios Nikolaos, the centre of Cretan culture. Guests can explore the lovely nature around the Agios Nikolaos Lake, which is only 15 minutes away. Furthermore, the beautiful Vai palm forest is 95 km away. Heraklion Airport is about 64 km from the resort. This deluxe waterfront hotel is an excellent 129-room establishment, set in a tranquil, colourful location surrounded by flower-filled gardens. There is a well-equipped conference room with wireless Internet access point for business travellers, whilst leisure guests are provided with a games room, TV lounge and a variety of services. Guests can wine and dine in the bar and restaurant or give themselves over to relaxation at the SPA. An outdoor pool and various land and water sports are available for active recreation.

Wonderful hotel with terrific staff
Every year we like to take a week to relax somewhere good. We like being by the water in beautiful surroundings with fine food and great staff. This year we wanted to be able to walk to a small town, too. Minos Beach perfectly delivers on all fronts. The accommodation stretches around the coastline so never feels crowded, the newly renovated pool is world class, the perfectly planted and manicured grounds mingle with interesting sculptures and the private beach locations are wonderful. The staff are uniformly excellent. And the variety of restaurant locations - all with great food at fair prices and delicious Greek wines that are excellent value - means you don’t need to leave the resort unless you really want to. And if you do then although you wouldn’t mistake Agios Nikolaos for Portofino it is not without charm and decent places to eat. The weather in early September was sunny and late twenties / early thirties. The clientele range from that age to retired, mostly European and American and all well behaved. On the basis that the team may read these reviews special thanks to Maria in reception for the warm welcome, Angela in the pool bar, Gabriella at the main bar (and Dennis who makes great cocktails), Maria in the main restaurant, and Fotini and Petros in the Cave and Bouillabaisse. And thank you to those unseen people who clean the rooms, prep and cook the food and keep the grounds looking so perfect. You all made our stay extra special. Highly recommended.

Minos beach hotel Crete
Well what can I say most probably the best hotel I have stayed at. Location although an hour away from airport is perfect the atmosphere was amazing the staff were made it like this. The rooms were amazing and the cleaners were amazing so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The amenities were just what you need for most relaxing holiday ever. The place was immaculate. Last year we couldn’t get to the main pool but after discussing things with one of the managers fantastic lady they had changed everything and most things are now accessible to wheelchair users. Amazing holiday even though I was working people staff were fantastic.

A Special Place in our Hearts
Wow! What an absolutely fantastic place Minos Beach Art Hotel is. From the minute you book, everything is taken care of and you are made to feel welcome. The rooms, food and location are superb and second to none but what really makes Minos Beach so amazing are the people and hospitality they show you. We are incredibly lucky that this was not our first stay here and nor will it be our last. This beautiful haven seems to get better each visit, which I didn’t even realise was possible, and was made extra special this year as we got married here after 2 years of planning with events manager, Helena, who is an absolute diamond and the biggest credit to Minos Beach Art Hotel. From start to finish Helena made the planning and day itself seamless and stress free. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always available for even the smallest of things. This allowed my husband and I to be fully present on the day and enjoy each moment. Every single guest commented on the beauty, tranquility and surroundings but, moreover commented on how hospitable, happy and fabulous the Minos Beach Art staff were. A special mention to Spiros for moving all of luggage multiple times with such care, Michalis for chauffeuring me all day on the golf cart and even holding my dress! And to Zisi, Manos and Eva for welcoming us all like family. The BBQ banquet we chose was perfect- I’ve never eaten pork belly like it and the Firefly cocktails went down way too easy. Helena even arranged for our cake to be our favourite Greek orange pie which we still dream about. We truly look back on our visit this year with full hearts and the most beautiful memories. Thank you for making our stay and wedding day so perfect, we are already planning our visit next year.
Stunning
My wife and I have recently returned from a 10 night stay at The Minos Beach Art Hotel.
This really is an amazing Hotel, beautifully presented and providing such a relaxing environment, be it poolside or at the waters edge. There are times you feel you are the only people staying at the Hotel.
As other reviewers have commented, what makes this Hotel really special are its staff. Always smiling, willing to help out in any way and genuinely so very friendly.
Would, without hesitation, highly recommend
