- Minos Beach Art Hotel

The resort is located by the sea, close to a small, rocky inlet of sand. It is just 1 km from Agios Nikolaos, the centre of Cretan culture. Guests can explore the lovely nature around the Agios Nikolaos Lake, which is only 15 minutes away. Furthermore, the beautiful Vai palm forest is 95 km away. Heraklion Airport is about 64 km from the resort. This deluxe waterfront hotel is an excellent 129-room establishment, set in a tranquil, colourful location surrounded by flower-filled gardens. There is a well-equipped conference room with wireless Internet access point for business travellers, whilst leisure guests are provided with a games room, TV lounge and a variety of services. Guests can wine and dine in the bar and restaurant or give themselves over to relaxation at the SPA. An outdoor pool and various land and water sports are available for active recreation.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The staff, the hotel, the rooms, the art, the location, the grounds, the services, the amenities, the activities and the overall atmosphere…all are simply amazing!
Minos Beach Art Hotel is one of those rare places that feels truly special from the moment you arrive. This was our third stay, and somehow it continues to exceed our expectations every time.
The setting is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, elegant, and perfectly integrated into the Cretan landscape. The sea is crystal clear, the little beaches and swimming spots are wonderful, and the whole property has such a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Even when the hotel is full, it never feels crowded.
One of the highlights of our stay this year was the newly renovated pool area — it is absolutely exceptional. The renovation is beautiful and has elevated the whole experience even further. The pool and its surroundings feel elegant, luxurious, and incredibly inviting, while still fitting perfectly with the natural character and style of the hotel. We absolutely loved spending time there.
What really makes Minos Beach stand out, though, is the incredible staff. Everyone is genuinely warm, kind, attentive, and welcoming. You feel that they truly care about making your stay special, and as returning guests, we were especially touched by the attention and hospitality we received.
We traveled as a family, and the hotel manages to be both sophisticated and wonderfully comfortable with children — something that is not always easy to find. The bungalows, the beautiful grounds, the sea right outside your door, the food, the exceptional new pool, and the overall atmosphere make it very difficult to leave.
There are many beautiful luxury hotels in Greece, but Minos Beach has something more — it has soul. It has become a very special place for our family, and one we already look forward to returning to again.
Thank you to the entire Minos Beach team for another unforgettable stay. ❤️
This is a wonderful resort/Hotel. Beautiful views. Great access to the sea. Clean and comfortable accommodations. The food is excellent. And the staff is professional, friendly and beyond nice. Great access to town, just a short walk. I really can’t say enough about how nice this place is.
Just book up and come here - its incredible.
We booked this as an Indulgent Escape by Jet2 Holidays and cannot recommend it highly enough.
The hotel itself, the wider amenities, accommodation buildings and sculpture gardens are an architectural dream. I work in construction management and always find myself picking fault in workmanship, or thinking 'I wouldn't have done it like that' but this place has absolutely nailed it - the attention to detail in both finish and experience is impossible to fault. Each space you move through and every interaction you have with the staff feels well thought through, elegant and surpasses expectations.
Many of the rooms are bungalows dotted around the picturesque grounds, which blend into the landscaping and artwork to form an incredibly scenic walk back to your room. We had a sea view bungalow which was lush, big comfy bed, separate lounge space, airconditioned and once again architecturally impressive. The housekeeping staff maintained it perfectly, with replacement towels, refreshments etc twice daily.
There are multiple restaurants and bars throughout the grounds, opening at different times of the day, each with their own unique menu. All of the food was of very high quality, delicious and incredibly moreish. The main town is only about a 15 minute walk around the coast and we didn't find anywhere serving food as good as the hotel. La Bouillabaisse in particular is exquisite, if this isn't Michelin starred yet, it bloody well should be!
Its also worth noting each restaurant/bar has its own signature cocktail list, most of which are absolutely bang on, I lost count how many Firefly cocktails I had - this is a seriously good drink!! (... definitely gonna ask if they'll send over the recipe!).
The main pool area is another beautiful space, the pool is massive and surrounded by plenty of sun loungers and cabanas, with a very good pool side bar and restaurant for lunch. It never felt overcrowded.
If you venture to the private beaches, the water is crystal clear and calm, again with plenty of sun loungers (some specifically reserved if you have a waterfront bungalows).
Every lounging area has it's own QR code, so whether you are by the pool or on the beach, you have table service (or should I say sun lounger service) which is perfect for whiling away the day doing nothing.
Finally we have to give a massive thank you to the staff, all of which are warm, welcoming, chatty and exceptionally helpful. We would especially like to acknowledge the efforts of Maria, who could not have done more for us. Even prior to our arrival her assistance with organising excursions, answering queries or incorporating additional services was exceptional - nothing was too much trouble, full marks.
We've been lucky enough to stay in some fantastic hotels over the years, but this is probably the pick of the bunch! ... I overheard one of the staff saying nearly half of their guests are repeat visits - you can absolutely understand why. The Perfect Holiday 10/10.
Good hotel and excellent service at reasonable pricing
