The hotel is located in the heart of the Venetian town of Rethymno, which is home to numerous restaurants, bars and shopping venues. Very closeby are the Rimondi Fountain, municipal gardens and the picturesque Venetian harbour and Fortezza castle. Within 350 metres there is the sandy beach of Rethymno. Souda Airport and Heraklion Airport are about 65 km and 75 km away, respectively.
The hotel is housed in a listed building that was built in the 19th century and has the architectural style of bygone years. It combines luxury with calmness and echoes of the history of Rethymno. Quality services and facilities are offered like room service, medical services, a reception area and a breakfast room. This historical city hotel first opened its doors in 2010 and consists of just 9 rooms. Further facilities include a lobby with 24-hour check-out service, air conditioning, a hotel safe, lift access to the upper floors, a café and wireless Internet access.
The junior suites are decorated in a luxurious and elegant style. All are equipped with wireless Internet access, individually regulated air conditioning and heating, a satellite TV, fridge, double or king-size bed and a radio. The en suite bathrooms come with a shower, bath and hairdryer. Direct dial telephones and electronic safe boxes are offered for an extra fee. The balconies offer marvellous views of the city.
The hotel provides an outdoor swimming pool with hydromassage in the garden. By the pool, there are sun loungers with parasols laid out ready for use and guests can get cool drinks from the poolside bar. For those who wish to rejuvenate the body and soul there is also a hammam (for an extra charge) and a steam room. There are also sun loungers with parasols laid out on the nearby sandy beach (for a fee).
The hotel serves a continental breakfast in buffet style.

The most delightful little hotel and stay in the heart of Rethymno old town
We have just returned from a week stay at Antica Dimora suites, would fully recommend this hotel to anyone. Our stay began with an extremely warm welcome and tour, the room was clean, and beautifully appointed (as was the entire hotel), with included toiletries and water bottles (which were replenished daily).
The hotel is situated in a great location, with beautiful restaurants, cafes, and shops in the immediate vicinity, and the beach just a 10 minute walk away. The pool is small but adequate and had no trouble finding a sun lounger when required, as there are so few rooms and guests in this small hotel it was never a problem.
The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious, we never had an issue eating when we wanted each morning, and were very kindly offered a takeaway breakfast on our final morning due to an early pickup time.
The hosts were incredibly kind, friendly and helpful, with many recommendations, warm greetings and made this hotel so special, will definitely be returning.
Rethymno : Sun, Streets, and Surprises. A holiday to remember!
Wow, what a find! Such a beautiful hotel, made even lovelier by the amazing staff, consisting of Marcos, Calli and Vaso. A thank you too, to the lovely lady ( sorry I cannot recall her name ), who made sure our rooms were replenished daily with tea, coffee and bottled water. Throughout our ten days’ stay they made us feel as if we were at home, which indeed the Antica Dimora once was: it consists of just eight bedrooms. We were surprised that there was no surcharge for the room safe or air conditioning, but not to have to pay any local taxes because the hotel is a listed building came as a welcome surprise. The breakfast was fantastic and had traditional Greek choices, as well as continental and British choices. How anyone could say that the choice is limited must be rather fussy. We will hopefully have the opportunity to visit again soon.

Diamond hotel and staff
…This was our 5th stay in the gorgeous Rethymno…”our happy place” but the first time in antica dimora suites.What a beautiful hotel…Beautifully furnished and immaculately clean due to the lovely Natasha the housekeeper. On arrival the amazing Marcos welcomed us and helped us settle after a long journey offering us cakes baklava and cold drinks…unfortunately the room we were allocated wasnt the room we had requested and paid for as there was no balcony… The lovely Vaso told us not to worry they would give us another room the next day. On viewing the other room the nxt day .this room only had a Juliette balcony so we decided to stay put in our first room as it was lovely but just with no balcony… Anyways the next day Marcos asked us if we would like to move to yet another room with a large terrace balcony overlooking the pool so we said yes… Marcos and Natasha helped us move and it was no problem at all… and a bottle of wine was put into our fridge free gratis…along side the 2 bottles of water given to us daily ..There’s only 8 rooms and most days it felt we were by ourselves it was so quiet although all the rooms were full…We met the beautiful Callie in the afternoons/evening who went out of her way to welcome us “ home” every time we went back to the hotel …Callie was very helpful in recommending sights to see and places to eat… The breakfasts were always plenty of choice… all typical Greek ..yoghurt..honey..nuts..pastries…breads..fresh fruit and the usual boiled and fried eggs..meats and cheeses… Lovely coffee or tea on demand… excellent location in the old town..The bus station is a 5 min walk.. We will certainly stay again if we decide to visit Rethymno again!!!! Ps… look out for Marcos,s art displayed around the hotel .It was absolutely amazing .such a talented man..Top marks to ALL the staff x

A hidden gem with the best staff
Our 3rd visit here over a 15 year period and love it as much as we did the 1st time. A little oasis of calm in busy Rethymno old town perfectly located for lots of shops, bars and fab restaurants. Small but perfectly formed we had the small pool to ourselves most of the time.
The old town itself is so much busier than it was and despite this, you feel a million miles away once you step through that door.
Not complaining but a few little bits starting to feel tired like the table on our balcony, the stair carpets are a little worn and the pool needs the tiles fixed as well as the jets. All minor things but I can tell you the reason we returned again is all down to the staff.
We met Vaso on our 1st visit around 15 yrs ago and were delighted she was still there as she is truly adorable. Marco is relatively new but a great addition to the team! Joan hotels should be proud of them.
We always feel looked after there and definitely will not leave it so long to go back. The breakfast was delish with a small selection of hot and cold items with the best Greek yoghurt I have ever tasted.
The Cretan people are amongst the most friendly people you will meet so despite the little repairs needing done, Antica Dimora remains one of my fave places to be in the world. The staff go the extra mile but one suggestion is having a water urn maybe with some fruit in down next to the pool as you have to go all the way up the back stairs to go back down to reception.
