Angela Suites Boutique Hotel

Another year over at Angela Suites Boutique, and once again, absolutely fantastic.

Year after year, nothing changes when it comes to the wonderful hospitality here. The staff are genuinely lovely people, we are always incredibly well looked after, and there is something very special about returning and seeing so many familiar faces. It feels welcoming, relaxed and personal – exactly why we keep coming back.

There have obviously been changes around Sissi in recent years, particularly with some of the larger all-inclusive hotels that have been built. That may concern some people who have been coming here for many years, but from our experience, the Sissi we love is still very much here.

If what you want from your holiday is a peaceful, friendly hotel where you are treated as a person rather than a room number, Angela is still absolutely for you. The local restaurants, bars and businesses we have enjoyed over the years are still here too, and we continue to support them because they are a huge part of what makes Sissi special.

It really comes down to what you want from your holiday. All-inclusive resorts will suit some people perfectly, but for us, part of coming to Crete is getting out, eating locally, having a drink in the local bars, seeing familiar faces and putting something back into the village.

One thing we have noticed this year is that some of the smaller local businesses don't seem quite as busy as they have been in previous years, which is a real shame. So we'd encourage fellow returnees and new visitors alike: enjoy your beautiful hotel, but please get out and support the local businesses too.

Sissi has its own identity and charm, and long may that continue. We certainly don't want to see it simply become an extension of Malia. Its smaller businesses, restaurants, bars and wonderful local people are what give the village its character.

And finally, another enormous thank you to every single member of the Angela team for looking after us so brilliantly once again. Your hospitality, friendliness and hard work never go unnoticed.

We have just had a fabulous holiday at Angela Suites , It’s a lovely small and friendly hotel, every member of staff are welcoming and friendly, no matter the time of day , they run a very clean and professional hotel. Our room was spotless and cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast was typical for most Greek hotels , always plenty and pleasant but a little repetitive. The pool areas were clean and sun-beds were comfortable and we never struggled to have one. The bar was open pretty much all the time and had a great selection of drinks for all, and lunch and evening meals if required. Its position in Sissi is very central to convenient to everything , cafes , restaurants, harbour, beach all a 5-10 min walk. but a very peaceful and relaxing location . We slept very well , having heavy shutters really helped block the light out which was brilliant as I really need a dark room to sleep. Towels were fluffy and large , pool towels replaced on request too.

Sisi had a lovely friendly atmosphere and many fantastic restaurants and bars, not too noisy or crowded. Perfect to relax and get the true Greek experience.

Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a special relaxing holiday

Its the first time we visited Sissi, we read reviews of how fabulous the hotel was and how people return year after year. The location of the hotel was ok for the reach of the town, but for beaches it was a walk down a very steep hill to Boufos beach, but if you want avalki beach you have to cross the rocks, this beach was lovely but only if you are able to cross rocks. The hotel is not a 5 star as rated, I would give it 3 stars, it is clean, but the rooms are very dated especially the bathrooms, a bit grubby. The walls are quite thin, you can hear the people in the next room. Breakfast was very basic, the cooked breakfast was just on hot plates, and that wasn't sufficient as it wasn't even lukewarm. Drinks are expensive in the hotel. The pool area is small and everyone is sitting next to each other. The only things I can give 5 star to is the staff, especially the breakfast staff, so friendly and polite and the cleanliness of the hotel. Also being rated a 5 star you hav a €15 charge for each night on tourist tax.
