Excellent friendly hotel in quiet area with lovely walk to harbour
This is an excellent hotel. Quite small, modern, simply furnished, and with wonderful friendly staff. Petros in the bar was great to chat to, while the lovely cleaner was so caring when my wife was ill. Choose a sea-facing room and you get great views, the higher the better (5 floors). The bed was comfortable, breakfast fine, and the daytime food menu simple but adequate and cheap. Cocktails at the bar are good and Petros is happy to make you anything not on the list.
Koum Kapi is a mainly residential area with some offices and shops, so you're not in a tourist trap. The little beach, just down the road from the hotel, is mostly used by locals and pretty quiet, with shallow water and rocks which protect it from the swell. It's nice for snorkelling around the rocks too. The walk to the harbour along the promenade is lovely, with good restaurants if you don't want to go far (Machalas does great fish, and Fourogatos is good too).

This hotel does not live up to what it claims
This hotel does not live up to its advertising. They say they are a 10 minute walk from the old city. It is more like 20 minutes. They mention a nice breakfast. In fact it is less than average for a 4 star hotel. They call themselves a spa hotel. The reception seemed to have no idea about the spa or what it offered. In fact it wasn’t open the 3 days were there and reception said they would have to call someone to see if it was available. The receptionists didn’t seem to have much idea about anything really especially customer service ( especially the lady who checked us in and rolled her eyes at every question asked). I must mention the bar man however who was friendly and who we turned to for advice on restaurants to go to and what to see snd do
