Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I have booked vacation in another hotel, but they pushed me to this (overbooked I think). Here was my best experience in Greece for 20 years! Quiet, privacy, comfortable apartment, privat terrace with seaview, clean swimming pool adequate to number of rooms (on seaview terrace). Very attentive personnel. I appreciated to be there very much. Regarding location of the hotel I recommend to rent a car (in my case booked from home - InterHellas). Amazing beaches up to 10 minutes by car (nearest beach is 800 m, not so nice). No irritating insects, even at night - you can sit outside and left windows open whenever you want
first day we came at hotel very late - we just go to sleep - into morning we were shocked - both of us had lots of bites on skin - over 60 times together- we though it was mosquitos - but no, during next days we found lots of red ants. When we want to use WIFI - didn't work - when we ask at reception - second day -they just said - we will ask at internet service - and till the end of our "Creta trip" we didn't get this information. It's not good when its 30 degrees outside to walk to reception to use WIFI there - we rent an apartment into "building 5". First day we take breakfast - its is overprized - for this money - 7€ per person - breakfast is nothing special. You can buy food in shop and make better breakfast by yourself. Another big problem is bathroom - no aircondition there - no windows. So when we go into the morning to the bathroom it was really hot there - like in sauna. Freezer is also very old - too old for safe use i think - also full of ice inside. From sink its very bad breathe - probably problem of not cleaning it enough - we need 3 days that cleaner understand why we put paper on the sink. Shower handle is broke - and its not our problem - they could fix it before they rent this appartment again. If you need someone from reception - you can also need to wait up to 10 minutes....i also attach photo around hotel - location is very bad - you need a car to go to a beach, to first food shop - Lidl . you need half an hour in each way by walk..... Air condition is very noisy
Lovely family run hotel / apartments. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Swimming pool clean and not crowded. Sunbeds always available. Variety of drinks and snacks at the pool bar. Overall happy and enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend......
On arrival from the outside looked okay and clean if not a little tired. Lots of seating areas dotted about which was nice. Unsure why this listing is rated a 4 though.
The apartment did not feel clean, the floor felt sticky and feet were filthy if you were barefoot. The room was not soundproof as suggested in the listing and we could hear other guests moving around the rooms beside and above us which, when they came home at gone midnight was not great. Bathroom not at a good standard and very tired with dirty grouting and sealant. On arrival no hot water at all but by the next day the water was hot and remained so throughout the stay. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets didn’t fit properly so every night by morning you ended up straight onto the mattress. Not bedding change as advised on the rules listed on the wall. Bath sheets were changed after 4 days but the new ones were not clean! Kitchen area felt unclean with doors that didn’t shut and rust on the sink - just didn’t feel clean. No kitchen towel/tea towel so unable to dry anything. Although there is a tv, it is small and the furniture didn’t face it so awkward to watch anything of an evening if desired.
Lovely to have a pool with beautiful views of the sunset but although it was never crowded and always able to find a sun lounger, there was a dirty line all around the edge and stuff in the bottom of the pool.
Pool bar looked lovely and could be a nice place to relax but was only open one night and nothing to advise when would be open etc.
Outside areas was nice to chill out on of an evening but broken plastic chair and tired tables.
May have just been really unlucky with allocation of the apartments and others May have been at a better standard. We stuck it out for a few days but were out all day most days exploring the island. We moved hotels towards the end of week as the bed was so uncomfortable and facilities were not making the experience feel like a holiday!
Overall a good location - supermarket a 10-15 minute walk away, beachfront 15 minutes away so the plenty of car hire and eateries.
The apartments were traditional, very quiet, incredibly peaceful, spacious and clean. Overall it was the perfect place for a relaxing life-detox which is what I went for. Total peace and quiet.
The location is difficult without a car so I wouldn’t recommend going unless you rent one (you can do this easily at reception). Air conditioning is additional €6 per day, safe is €8 per week.
The staff are very friendly, the pool is small but there was never many people so it wasn’t any problem. There was no washing up liquid or kitchen towel so bring your own!
There are no shops or restaurants close by at all (Lidl is 20 minutes walk and for tavernas maybe 30 minutes walk). You can’t order takeaway with reception if you wish, I didn’t so I don’t know if they are any good
There are beaches within 15 minutes walk but many are stony so you can’t get in the water (bring water shoes or buy them from the tourist shop at the beach).
Golden beach is sandy and has sunbeds and easy access in to the sea - it is 25 minutes walk (very steep hills coming back, not suitable for young or older people or people less steady on their feet) and sunbeds + Umbrella are around €15 for the whole day. It has showers, toilets and a beach bar.
Nothing in the area that I found or saw was wheelchair accessible at all and you’d struggle a little with a buggy because of the hills as well.
