The family had a wonderful holiday. The speciality restaurants have fantastic cuisine. The hotel is very clean and staff are friendly and attentive. Amazing gym with plenty of equipment. Aphrodite the restaurant manager is incredibly helpful.
I found this group to be really helpful prior to coming so I thought I would give my feedback about our holiday that we have just returned from. We travelled as a couple. We came from the airport on the Jet 2 coach. We were drop off 7 out of 8, and this did take well over an hour. In hindsight, I wish we had a private transfer. We arrived at the hotel at about 11.00pm and as we had checked in online this only took 10 minutes. We were taken to our room (1084) by a buggy. The room was so spacious, probably one of the biggest rooms we have had in years. It had more than enough storage. It was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay and on many occasions staff knocked on to see if there was anything else we needed. The fridge was replenished each day with a beer, wine, soft drinks and water. My husband sampled the complimentary bottle of Raki, I declined 🤣🤣. The room isn't super modern, but we had no complaints about it. We managed to get a sunbed every day without issue. We weren't particularly early risers, we used to go down about 8.45. Even after this time there was available beds. We used the main Delfinia Pool. We booked in to the al à carte restaurants prior to traveling. I emailed the hotel for the information that was needed to do this and they replied quickly. We used every restaurant, apart from the Asian, and they were all fantastic. The service was also great, drinks were constantly topped up and staff were lovely and friendly. The buffet was a little bit of an enigma to me. I have never known a buffet so quiet, it is a huge open space. Maybe they fill it with tables in the cooler weather? Anyhow, there was no pushing or shoving. There was a good choice of food and we never struggled. Saying that, we aren't fussy eaters. It wasn't the best buffet I have been to, however certainly not the worst. Everyone who served us in the buffet was lovely, we never had any wait to be offered drinks. The location of the hotel is quite remote, however I was aware of this prior to coming. There is a sports bar, 2 Spar shops and a couple of eateries within a 5/10 minute walk. The beach is rocky, beach shoes may be better for little ones. Saying that, my £1 Primark flip flops did not let me down. The sea is beautiful and clear, on our last 3 days the red flag was out as it was so rough. We still enjoyed a daily walk on the beach. We went in to Old Hersonissis for a meal that we pre-booked. We ate at Sofas Taverna and it was absolutely delicious. We used the Freenow App to book a taxi there and back and we paid around €15 each way. I would recommend traveling this way so you can track your vehicle, get the price, registration, etc. Entertainment is very low key. Again, we knew about this from reading reviews prior to coming. The day time consists of Aqua Fit in the morning and then Water Polo or Water Darts in the afternoon. We always used the rooftop bar at night, and whilst there is no entertainment there, it was a lovely atmosphere with fantastic service. Others seemed to be enjoying the evening entertainment by the pool though. Personally, i love Tribute Acts, this is more up my street. I know entertainment is down to personal choice, however it just lacked a bit of something. In the daytime, it would have been good to see a game of darts (out of the water) or something similar and have a bit more music playing. Again, this is just my opinion. There are lots of cats on the complex, and as a massive animal lover I thoroughly enjoyed this. It gave me some comfort to see that they were fed, in good health and many had been neutered. We got speaking to a lovely family who were adopting the gorgeous little white cat. If you are reading this, I hope this goes well🤞. The whole complex is so clean and well maintained. Reception is literally gleaming. We never really had to go to reception for anything, but the staff there seemed super friendly. We we due to check out at 12 but we paid €45 to keep our room on until 6.00pm. Thought I would also touch upon Heraklion Airport as I had seen many awful Tiktoks about it. We had a 23:15 flight and it was busy. The toilets were actually fine, apart from the ones closing to B10 gate. I walked in and walked out. Anyone who has been to a 3 day festival, imagine the toilets on day 3 and it will give you an idea😷. I would advise going up the stairs to the B11 gate as there was plenty of seats (and the toilets are better). Finally, the staff. Honestly, they are all lovely. The ones than stood out to us were Rena(buffet), Rhxdon and Delia(Rooftop bar), Irene (Italian and Pacifico Breakfast), Johannes (Mediterranean) and Jonabelle (Italian). We never go back to the same place twice, however I would recommend it to others who want a quiet and relaxing holiday. Was it perfect, no (but nearly)!, but we still had the most amazing time. Happy holidays everyone🌞🌊🐈.
An ok four - star hotel at best but nothing exceptional to note. Lots of people loved the food and the à la carte was a nice change but it’s 2026 you’d expect them to be able to cater to gluten free. No food indolences marked up at any point except vegetarian in main buffet, they do provide alternative milks in the morning, we asked if there were gluten free options (as not even cereal or bread available) Grumpy chef gave a one night overview which consisted of no to everything except fruit and salad and jelly so a very expensive fruit only diet for one of our party. Chef did say they could possibly put in a frozen gf pizza or pasta if given notice!! Disappointing as (food allergy was detailed at start of trip and when booked) and this isn’t the middle of nowhere so could be catered to if they wanted to. Pools turn all your swimwear green due to chemicals and as much as we’d hope we wouldn’t have to, you do need to be at one of the two pools by 8am and guard your sunbeds until 9.30 as the pool attendant will make you stay (although some guests would bag a bed all day to turn up at 4pm!!) there are simply too many guests and not enough beds to accommodate as only two pools neither of which is very big. The resort is quiet, we’d opted for less busy but this was insanely so, there’s a beach which isn’t a great standard and further along paragliding and banana boat but that’s it just the resort and pools (hence the need for a sunbed). Taxi to Heraklion was about €50 each way but worth it as it get a bit much stuck at the hotel. I’ll admit we usually take more explore holidays and hadn’t tried all inclusive for some time but with two teenagers, it was an ok holiday bit not one we’ll repeat for done time as it’s more for the eat and drink all you can crowd. Staff were a mix of really friendly (Maria at the Kalypso and all the main restaurant staff) and then some real grumpy ones walking around being quite rude to guests about how many towels they use, dress code etc. overall for the price, you will probably expect more than you get. Other guests did say it was a lacking compared to other Mitsis resorts but we won’t be booking this chain again.
Professional but personal service in a beautiful setting with myriad amenities. The location is a great starting point to visit the northern part of the island and taxis or car hire is very straightforward. Excellent recommendations from staff on where to visit and the organised bookings for us with ease. It’s worth seeking out the exercise classes and pool activities as it’s a bit hard to find out what’s on - but classes are listed on the website and I’m sure you could ask at reception. Might be worth putting a sign in the lobby about it so people know the excellent wide range available. I’d recommend a room with shared pool as those pools are large and only shared with a few people. A delight from start to finish.
We walked around the coast to Sandari beach which I’d highly recommend.
We received an upgrade to the presidential suite which is a beachfront ground floor villa with a large private pool. A fantastic room along with our three kids who had an amazing time. Rooms are a little dated, but overall it was a nice experience, but I’m not sure if I would pay the price for a room of this type, as I would probably prefer to spend the money and stay at Ikos resort. Food was very good including the buffet restaurant and overall staff very friendly and exceptionally clean hotel.
