I highly recommend having a massage with Jenevi at the wonderful Aegeo spa. She has done an outstanding job releasing tension . I couldnt be happier.
This is an aesthetically really attractive hotel and we loved our swim up pool (4009), but this hotel didn’t hit the heights for us.
For anyone used to 5* Turkey, this is not at that level for a variety of reasons.
Room itself was ok but on the basic side for the full price paid. No effort made at any flourishes - drinks in fridge are basic, bathroom stuff in brown packaging. They asked for feedback and we queried the tired toiletries and grotty bath mat. We also queried no pool service or collection of any empty glasses and it did prompt a positive reaction in fairness.
Relationship with the cheaper Beach hotel next door is a bit odd - we can cross the border but they can’t? The sports facilities attached to their hotel are excellent.
So many examples of the hotel offering what it wants rather than what the guest would choose. No food available after 2130; you can’t even buy a drink after the clock strikes midnight. Check-in was slow and clumsy and then sent to bed with no food or drink aside from what’s been left in the fridge. We got the message on not quite 5* from the moment we arrived.
Biggest issue for us (with a fussy eater) was the food. Don’t come here unless you love a buffet. To our surprise, even the Asian you had to book for was buffet so the Argentinian is the only à la carte and that’s limited to one AI visit.
A really good hotel but book here if you spot a bargain; it doesn’t justify a full price tag when you can holiday as royalty for the same price over in Turkey.
decent hotel not worth the price at all. the swim up rooms were good however the selection on food was absolutely diabolical. the steak house was good but thats the only restaurant that was there. just buffet after buffet. so we had to eat outside the hotel every day adding alot of money ontop of a already expensive trip.
i would never go back and wouldnt recommend the hotel.
the situation with sunbeds was embarrassing also staff at the hotel removing your towels because you arent there for 20 mins 🤣
We had a wonderful stay at Lyttos Mare and genuinely enjoyed our holiday. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money, and there are many reasons why we would recommend it.
Resort & Facilities
The resort is beautiful, modern, and exceptionally well maintained. Although it is a very large hotel with many guests, it never feels overcrowded. There are several pools throughout the property, and we never had the impression that they were too busy. This creates a very relaxing atmosphere despite the size of the resort.
One thing that really stands out is the cleanliness. The hotel is spotless, and you can tell that great importance is placed on keeping the entire resort clean. Towels are changed every day, which we also appreciated.
Staff & Service
The staff throughout the hotel is consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
One small point for improvement concerns the restaurant service. On several occasions, we were asked if we had finished our meal while we were still eating. Although the staff was always polite, it sometimes made us feel a little rushed. Allowing guests a bit more time before clearing the table would make the dining experience more relaxing.
Food & Drinks
The food at the hotel is decent, but it was not one of the highlights of our stay. There is enough variety to find something you enjoy, but overall it did not feel particularly special for a five-star resort.
Breakfast offers a good selection but becomes quite repetitive after a few days. More variety throughout the week would be appreciated.
Our favorite restaurants were definitely the Greek and the Asian restaurants. We enjoyed both the quality of the food and the atmosphere there much more than in the main buffet restaurant.
The cocktails could also be improved. Many of them were simply too sweet and lacked balance.
Spa Experience
A special thank you to Jasmine at the spa. She gave us one of the best massages we have ever experienced. We highly recommend the 75-minute couples massage with aromatherapy and aloe vera, as well as the avocado facial treatments. Jasmine was incredibly professional, attentive, and made us feel completely relaxed. The atmosphere in the spa is peaceful and beautifully designed—it was one of the highlights of our stay.
The One Major Issue: Sunbed Reservations
Unfortunately, there is one issue that significantly affected our holiday: the sunbed reservation policy.
Although the hotel has a rule that reserving sunbeds is not allowed, this rule is unfortunately not enforced. Every morning, by around 9:00 a.m., almost every sunbed was already covered with towels, even though many of them remained unused for hours.
Because of this, I had to wake up every single day at 6:30 a.m. just to reserve a sunbed myself, even though I would much rather have slept in during my holiday. That is simply not the kind of stress you expect or want while on vacation.
For us, this is the hotel’s biggest weakness and, unfortunately, the only reason why we would hesitate to return. We would gladly book Lyttos Mare again if we knew this issue had been resolved and that reserving sunbeds was no longer a problem. Simply enforcing the hotel’s existing policy would make a huge difference and would greatly improve the guest experience.
Overall
Despite this issue, we had a fantastic holiday. Lyttos Mare is a beautiful resort with excellent facilities, outstanding cleanliness, friendly staff, plenty of space, and very good value for money.
If the hotel improves the breakfast variety, the cocktails, and especially resolves the sunbed reservation issue, it would easily deserve a five-star rating from us.
Jasmine very professional work!
