- Stella Palace Aqua Park Resort

Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and palm trees, the elegant and modern Stella Palace is set on a private beach in the traditional village of Analipsis on the northern coast of the popular holiday island of Crete. The luxurious hotel offers stylish accommodation and features two gigantic lagoon-style swimming pools, a wide range of sports facilities and many entertainment options for children. The cosmopolitan town of Hersonissos with its famous nightlife can be reached within a short drive. An ideal hotel for couples and families with children for a beach holiday.
We had an amazing experience at Stella Palace (for the 2nd time now). We call it "the fun hotel" which speaks for itself. Everything is really great; the rooms, the service, the food, the activities. Very good sport activities for those who like to stay active on holidays. Food is fresh, very esthetic and many healthy options. We also would like to specifically mention the animation team which is the added value to the experience. Whether it's the day time activities they run or the hilarious shows in the evenings. They are truly a fun, giving and kind bunch. We especially connected with Mike and Greta who really got into our hearts.
Not please with the over all experience. Having to put toilet paper in a bin next to the toilet was the biggest issue. Tv in the room was not level. Reported to staff. Nothing was done with that. Customers were allowed to smoke outside of rooms. No care for kids. Lots of sun beds so no fighting. Staff were friendly. Sticking to the dress code at dinnner time was not upheld. Food was good. Nobody got sick.
Another fantastic stay at Stella for our family
Pros
The hotel and grounds are spotless and the staff work constantly to maintain this.
Once again, the food was fantastic in the buffet restaurants, snack bars and à la carte restaurants, the addition of Scoops and Bites this year was very welcome. There is a huge amount of choice, even for the fussiest eaters, and all dishes are fresh and well made.
Drinks are great, but for the price paid, branded spirits are not included and are at an extra charge. The coffee is fantastic, be sure to ask for an iced vanilla Frappe at the lower pool bar.
Daytime entertainment was great, we enjoyed water aerobics with Clara, and volleyball with Dr Zulu
The staff are wonderful, and the hospitality is on point, however did feel like some of the Greek feel had left the resort this year.
Room 840 large and spacious, and overlooking the waterpark, large balcony, double sinks, shower with very good water pressure, plenty of fresh towels and amenities in rooms.
Waterpark and pools are brilliant, spotlessly clean and endless entertainment to be had
We find the location good, quieter than larger resorts, but parallel to a lovely beach and safe swimming, supermarkets, beach bars and our favourite restaurant Achinos, land train available at rear of hotel which takes you into Hersonissos… well worth it!
A huge thanks to Clara in entertainment who was fantastic, Ioanna in Poseidon, and every member of staff we came across, we’ve never met such accommodating people, they make the experience!
Cons
The staff were diligent in reducing “Sunbed wars” this however did lead to an argument with our family as another party accused us of stealing their personal belongings, I pointed them towards the bar where their belongings had been stored, but as a guest we should not have had to deal with aggression like that. The hotel we are staying at next year has allocated sunbeds, this really should be looked into as this is really not a luxury experience.
Security seemed slacker this year … on one occasion a very drunk male with a blue wristband was wandering around the complex bothering females and children and following people around, we had to divert to get away from him as he wouldn’t leave us alone.
Evening entertainment not good this year, basic and amateurish, amphitheatre crowded and uncomfortable, shows last year were great.
Would we return…. If the price is right, absolutely
Excellent 10-day stay at Stella Palace. Check-in was a little slow; however, once we were all checked in, the rest of the holiday was fantastic.
We went during the height of the summer holidays but managed to get bookings for all five à la carte restaurants at the times we wanted. We did this as soon as we checked in. We were a large group of 12, travelling with two other families, and the only negative about the restaurant booking process was that we struggled to get bookings together. You can’t pre-book before you arrive, and once we did arrive, we only managed to get one restaurant booking together as a table of 12.
However, the food was really, really good. I’m quite a foodie, and we honestly didn’t have a bad meal. The Mexican and Asian restaurants were my personal favourites. The buffet food was equally good quality, with different themed nights each evening.
The water park and pools are great. The water park caters for all ages and has something for everyone. The ice cream and cake shops were a hit with the kids, and it was also easy to get things like gyros around the water park.
We always managed to get sunbeds when going to the water park in the afternoon, around 3pm, as there were plenty available at this time. Around the swimming pools, we got sunbeds each morning near where our rooms were, as we could walk straight out to the pool from our room, which was great. We tended to do this around 7:30–8am once we woke up. One of us would sit with the beds and read our book, as the pools didn’t open until 9:30/10am.
We saw staff taking pictures of sunbeds with towels on them when people weren’t there, and a few towels were removed from time to time. I’d say all sunbeds had gone by 9:30/10am once the pools opened, but this was during the school holidays, so the resort was very busy.
The entertainment team were also fab. Dennis in particular was really personable and friendly, and he made us all laugh. There is a mini disco and a show each evening at the amphitheatre, which our kids really enjoyed.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable stay with great facilities, great food and good entertainment. We would definitely return!
We had an absolutely perfect vacation at Stella Palace! Amazing Staff: Incredibly polite, genuinely warm, and welcoming. They pay attention to every single small detail to make you feel at home. Excellent Rooms & Pools: The rooms are modern, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The pools and the aqua park are magnificent and beautifully maintained. Perfect for Toddlers: The main restaurant is wonderfully adapted for little ones with great kids' buffet options. Fantastic Activities: The daily entertainment is amazing, and the professional babysitting services gave us complete peace of mind. Thank you, Stella Palace, for an unforgettable holiday. We will definitely be back
