Retreat by relaxing and enhancing your stay with the water element and enjoy Mediterranean and Cretan cuisine in our restaurants and bars, experiencing a journey of distinctive flavors.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We are just back from a week long stay for our honeymoon and had a fantastic trip. Every member of staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast and bar staff were extremely smiley and always happy to help. We also did make an effort to use basic Greek words/phrases for thank you and good morning and I do wonder how many of the negative reviews about 'rude staff' are from ignorant Brits who make no effort to interact using the local language. We are from Scotland and using Greek phrases goes a long way.
The sunbeds do fill up quickly but this is nothing new and certainly not unique to this hotel. People who expect hotels to monitor this are delusional. If you want a prime location sun lounger - get up early. We did and never had a problem. Breakfast was fine - what you expect from a buffet breakfast. Offered a glass of Prosecco every morning and a Freddo cappuccino was our favourite! Lunch options were tasty - particularly the gyros.
We were initially put in a room on the end of the hotel and it was tiny. No storage space to hang clothes and genuinely do feel that those rooms shouldn't be offered or if they are - they should be at a reduced price. We spoke to staff about this the next day and asked to be moved. We were moved the following morning to a gorgeous room with much more space. Rooms were clean, maid service very friendly. Once we moved rooms we could not fault this hotel. My suggestion would be to demonstrate a polite and kind attitude and maybe that will help your experience.
Splendid hotel
Met all expectations & the 9th floor infinity pool is to die for
Perfect stay, location, beautiful rooms and view from the windows! Also amazing massage from Ami and Stelina!
I recently had a massage with Michaela and it was probably one of the best massages I’ve ever had! I initially booked in for a deep tissue massage but decided on a combination of strength and relaxation on the day, and Michaela nailed it! I also have a lower back injury and she managed that perfectly. Would definitely recommend!!
Room 205 is in a lively position overlooking the road, so it’s actually quite good if you enjoy watching the traffic go by and hearing locals talking into the evening.
A full sea view would have been nice, but being on the 2nd floor means the outlook is mainly parked cars and road activity, which blocks much of the view. The TUI website shows fantastic views from the 5th floor upwards, which is very different from what is experienced on the lower floors.
Located in the business centre, it is again great if you need to work on holiday.
Privacy is also limited, as the shower is located within the bedroom area, and because people walking past on the opposite side of the hotel can see in, the curtains had to be closed all the time. Perfect room if you are a vampire — you don’t see the light.
Staff were not particularly interested in the concerns raised.
If you are allocated a 2nd-floor room, it is worth being aware that the view and overall experience are quite different from the advertised images. Requests for a room change may not always lead to a different allocation, even when availability appears limited at the time.
One final tip: make sure you sign for any service and ask for a receipt. We were billed for someone else’s drinks, and when we checked this was not ours. There was no apology offered when this was raised.
The hotel is marketed as 5-star, but based on our experience it felt more like a 3-star stay overall.
