Service second to none!!
I stayed at the Atlantica Amalthia with 3 friends for a week in September. We were in a room on the beachside, it was bright, spacious and airy. There was a safe in the room, a fridge and a kettle which was very handy. We had a pleasant terrace facing the path down to the beach. The room was cleaned daily, to a very high standard. Breakfast was excellent, wide choice of hot and cold food, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, egg, bacon, omelettes made to order. We ate at the pool bar at lunchtime a couple of times and again the food was of high quality. There are lots of good beach bars within walking distance of the hotel. Of the tavernas we enjoyed Spiti, on the main road and if you turn at the petrol station there are lovely tavernas up the hill, in particular Rustic garden. There aren’t a lot of bars in the vicinity, the nearest is about a ten minute walk away.
All the above is what you would expect from a four star hotel.
However what elevates the Atlantica Amalthia to a 5 star in my opinion is the exceptional service provided by the whole team. From the waiters in the dining room to the housekeepers, everyone had a smile on their faces. The weather wasn’t particularly good so we spent quite a lot of time at the pool bar. The boys there go out of their way to make your stay memorable, a special mention to George (we nicknamed him ‘gorgeous George’) and Andreas who made the best cocktails, especially his Cosmopolitan..without sugar. Ignore negative reviews, I would definitely return to the Atlantica Amalthia.

Excellent Stay In Sunny Agia Marina For A Third Time
Atlantica Amalthia Beach Hotel is an excellent adults-only hotel that offers genuine value for money. It provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere while still being located in the heart of the lively Agia Marina strip, with plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and transport links nearby to choose from.
We stayed here in August for our third consecutive year on an all-adult family holiday and had a fantastic time. The location is ideal as Chania Town is only about 10 km away and easily accessible by taxi or a 20-minute bus ride. Platanias is also just down the road; while you can take a quick bus, it is absolutely accessible on foot as well.
The beach is one of the hotel's biggest highlights. It is a beautiful sandy beach with very few rocks and is directly accessible from the hotel grounds. As it is a public beach, it can become quite busy during weekends and public holidays, but there is plenty of space to enjoy the sea and surroundings.
The cleanliness of both the rooms and the hotel grounds was outstanding. The staff work incredibly hard to maintain the property, and their meticulousness is evident throughout the hotel.
The beds were comfortable, although I personally found the pillows a little too high. I requested a lower pillow from reception, which was promptly provided and made a big difference to my comfort levels during my stay. This is a good example of how willing the staff are to accommodate guests' needs during their stay.
There are several swimming pools to choose from and plenty of sun beds available. Guests should be aware of the hotel's policy regarding reserving sun beds with towels before 8am, as any unattended towels may be removed. I imagine this policy is designed to ensure fair availability for all guests.
The atmosphere throughout the hotel is calm, quiet and relaxing. As an adults-only property, it is particularly well suited to couples and adult families; basically anyone looking for a peaceful break away.
The Wi-Fi was excellent throughout my stay, with reliable coverage across the hotel and in the rooms.
The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were consistently friendly, professional and helpful. I was particularly impressed by how hard they worked to resolve any issues that guests might have.
I would highly recommend Atlantica Amalthia Beach Hotel and would happily return in the future. One piece of advice I would give to guests staying at the hotel is to speak to the staff directly if you encounter any problems before rushing to quick judgement. In my experience, they genuinely care about guest satisfaction and will work tirelessly to resolve any concerns you may have and to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Gorgeous Hotel
Centrally located in Agia Marina, this is a really lovely hotel. The rooms have everything you need, really comfortable beds, and the amenities provided ensure a comfortable stay. The hotel itself is really high quality and we particularly enjoyed the beach facilities. We paid 15 euros per day for an umbrella and 2 loungers but you also get free water, fruit and waiter service included. Sunbeds by the pools are free though. The staff are all amazing, they work long hours but always have a smile on their face and nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn’t think twice about returning.

Buyer beware
We booked this hotel through an independent travel agent but it was a Jet2 holiday. We paid an awful lot of money for a 10 day stay in a Superior Sea View room number 151. On arrival there was no electricity in our room this was resolved in around 10 minutes but not what you want when you arrive at 2am. Our Superior Sea View room was bang average, I’ve stayed in better Premier Inn rooms. No towel rails in the bathroom , just 2 hooks, one of which was next to the toilet and across the room from the shower. One of the wardrobe doors you could not fully open as it was restricted by the front door handle, just 5 clothes hangers per wardrobe, little shelving or draw space. We could only find 3 plug sockets and the decor was very tired. Our sea view was blocked by a huge palm tree outside our balcony, you could sea the sea through the palms and if you moved to the side of the balcony. Our balcony was uncovered so on the two days it rained we couldn’t even sit outside. Not Superior in any aspect.
The pool had 30 sun beds which had all gone by 8.30 as people basically started to use them from around 7.45 to 8.30 and once 8.30 came they went off to breakfast. Those sunbeds are extremely close together as well. Having to pay for sun beds on the beach is a rip off and we certainly were not aware of it when booking. €15 , two bottles of water, a slice of melon and a cold flannel. Waiter service but not consistent, first day we wanted to pay cash and got told we will put it on your room, next day can we have cash straight away in case it rains. Keep your receipts as we had two extra drinks on our bill when we checked out. Breakfast was very standard, lukewarm fare, with the exception of the wonderful omelette station. A toasting machine that was useless, with a single 2 slice toaster the replacement, totally inadequate. Always queues for the coffee machine as it was so slow, with people moaning about it. The “fruit juice” machine is also very disappointing. Basically the cold Buffett breakfast is fine. This is not a 4 star hotel, I assume it gets this rating due to having a Spa and a Gym. It is a nice 3 star but when you have paid 4 star prices it makes you feel very disappointed. We have complained to Jet2 and I did fill out the questionnaire and raised my points. Cleaning staff excellent.

Honeymoon
Honeymoon, and was everything we wanted. We stayed in a deluxe room and spent time at the pool and beach. The rooms are clean and spacious. All staff have gone out of their way to make our trip special. Amazing restaurants local and Chania 20 Euro in a taxi.
