We had an incredible stay at Domes Miramare Corfu. The resort is beautiful, the food is outstanding, and the service is second to none.
A huge thank you to the amazing restaurant managers led by George including - Dimitris, Antonis, Natalia, Maria, and Ilias – they made every dining experience so enjoyable and seamless, Special thanks also to Apostolos at the 1962 Restaurant for his exceptional service and warm hospitality.
The beach team – Giannis, Orestis, and Spyros – were always friendly, attentive, and made our days by the sea perfect. Adrian and Theodor from Guest Relations were incredibly helpful throughout our stay, and Maria and Mike at the Blue Bar gave fantastic service and cocktails.
Everyone remembers your name/room number and each one ensured they could do anything to make this holiday truly unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!
We have just had a fantastic ten night stay at this hotel.
Having stayed in six five star hotels in Corfu I feel I can give a good honest review of both the positives and the negatives.
We always read the reviews of any hotels we are considering booking so I will always be honest.
Positives
The things make this a five star hotel are firstly the staff. Such a friendly team from the cleaners to the management. We have had the best food ever without a doubt. We love that fact that there are no buffet evening meals. The Makris was excellent and so is the 1962. To sit outside at the 1962 with the views across the bay is outstanding. The Italian wasn’t to our taste. You will have to pay roughly 50 euros for a bottle of wine which is expensive.
You never get bored of the views from this hotel.
The grounds are stunning and so well maintained.
The do not disturb and make up the room light are a great idea.
Negatives For us the room was certainly not luxury. We have had far better rooms in other hotels. There was an old armchair in the corner which had a throw over it to cover up the shabby material. The headboard had been recovered in a very basic cream material but it all appeared make do. The drinks were not very good quality and how they were served poor for a hotel of this quality. I had a Pino colada and it was just served in a tumbler with a slice of pineapple. My husband enjoys a gin and tonic. Normally in this quality hotel the waiter would bring the gin bottle and pour it in front of you in a nice gin glass, add a little tonic and leave you the tonic to add yourself but not here. They just put a little tonic in the tumbler glass and don’t give you the bottle that you’ve paid for. They also fill the glass with ice which if my husband hadn’t asked him to take half out it would have been like water. Just not presented right at all. After the first night we walked down to the village and had some excellent drinks but we shouldn’t have needed to. A massive negative for us was the cats sat on the furniture. You go out dressed for dinner and the cats are spread on the furniture with their fur all over the cushions. The rugs in the outside area were grubby and car food on them. The sun beds in the beach need replacing. Not five star quality. With just a few tweaks this could have been a much better experience. This wasn’t the five star hotel we expected given what it cost.
What an amazing experience we had during our stay at this beautiful hotel, the staff all went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a memorable one. We have never encountered such happy staff who's main aim is to ensure your every wish comes true! We highly recommend Domes Miramare and we cannot wait to return!
We stayed here mid June 2026. We chose the hotel as we had our first holiday together in Moraitika as a couple 40 years ago almost to the day. Moraitika probably wouldn’t be on our holiday list other wise! That said, we had a lovely week on Corfu and really enjoyed our stay in Domes Miramare. The hotel is beautifully maintained with lovely planting schemes. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and any issues reported were swiftly dealt with.
We stayed in a Grand Opal suite as part of Haute living experience. We had throughly read both TA & Google reviews and had also read the hotel website so were fully aware that our room was in the panoramic section across the road from the main hotel. The road is safe to cross if you choose your crossing carefully, otherwise there is the underground tunnel that has lifts at both ends. During our week stay one of the lifts was out of order overnight but engineers were on site a couple of hours after we had reported it to reception.
Our room was lovely with plenty of space for 2 adults. The bathroom was large and well appointed with shower gel, shampoo etc. It had a bath as well as an huge walk in shower, 2 hand basins, towels were plentiful and were changed when needed. The bed was large and we found it very comfortable. I asked for a softer pillow which was provided immediately and we both slept well during the week. Although there was a 55” tv, we struggled to get our devices to cast so just watched streamed programmes on our iPads instead. The balcony was great, sun in the morning and a comfortable shade in the afternoons. There was a table and chairs there as well as two sun beds so options around relaxing on the balcony if needed. Tea and coffee were replenished daily and when we requested different Nespresso pods, these were quickly provided.
Our only significant comment regarding our room was the lack of drawer space and hangers. We ended up keeping some clothes in our suitcases as the set of small drawers provided just wasn’t enough for a weeks stay for 2 people. I always travel with foldable hangers which was as well because hangers were in short supply in our room.
Music from the spa and fitness suite below our room was just audible throughout the night but not loud enough to disturb sleep. There was also road noise which we were aware of in the evenings. Probably better noise insulation of the glass patio doors could be considered by the hotel in relation to the road noise.
Prior to our arrival we weren’t sure if the Haute Living was a worthwhile addition to our holiday but were very pleasantly surprised by the facilities. The Haute Living lounge was a cool, quiet space to retreat into when needed, with its own outdoor poolside/ sun area and steps leading directly into the sea!! This was an excellent feature. Throughout the day the snacks were replenished and there were both hot/cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available up until around 10pm daily. The snacks were certainly more than just wraps, we had bruschetta, olives, sushi rolls, focaccia's, vegetable spring rolls, Greek salad etc. Plus an assortment of small pastries and cakes. The concierge’s were lovely, a special mention must go to Aurelia for her friendly and helpful manner. She sorted all of our restaurant bookings for us including at Makris and made sure restaurant timings suited us.
We really enjoyed the food in the restaurants, bar Raw. Not sure what happened in the kitchen the night we ate there but the chicken Katsu had almost no flavour and the shrimps were rather overcooked and uninspiring sadly. We ate several times in the 1968 restaurant and enjoyed all our meals there, warning - portions are large! We found plenty of variations on the 1968 menu over the week with good options for me as I don’t eat meat. Makris was delightful and we both really enjoyed the 3 courses from the set menu.
There was music playing in the main hotel foyer most evenings we were there which ranged from a singer to a string quartet one night. We didn’t actually stay to listen to any of the entertainment so can’t really comment upon the suitability. However trying to please all guests all the time would be impossible for any hotel!
Our stay did not meet the standards we expected. By booking an Emerald Suite, we anticipated a genuine five-star experience, but the overall service fell short of that level.
Our main concern was the service. In general, the staff seemed underprepared for the expectations of a luxury resort and, at times, the experience felt impersonal. With the notable exceptions of the pool bar team on in the elevated pool, the sommelier, and the staff at the Italian restaurant, who were excellent, we often felt that our needs were not given enough attention. In a resort of this size, it is easy to feel overlooked rather than personally welcomed.
The most serious issue was the air conditioning. We spent three nights without air conditioning in our Emerald Suite. The only compensation offered, and only after we requested it, was a complimentary meal. Given the inconvenience, this did not seem proportionate.
The setting is impressive, but it cannot fully make up for inconsistent service, uneven dining, and the way this problem was handled. At this level, one expects not only a beautiful property but also a consistently high standard of hospitality. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
