Rodostamo Hotel and Spa

I've yet to write a full review but figured I'd write part 1 while its fresh in my mind. I must be staying in a different resort to other people that have left reviews, it is most definitely NOT 5 star, sorry but its more 3.5-4 maximum. This is just my opinion of course. Its completely unrestful. Breakfast is like eating in the middle of a disco with Abba talking about some chiqitita person, Bill Hailey rocking around the clock and Grease Summer Loving pumped into my ears, on repeat. Every morning. That could actually be to drown out the noise as from 9am its like a canteen. I take my coffee to the sofas in bar reception area, nope, not quiet either, Amy Winehouse this morning. Well I LOVE Amy but not first thing in the morning at Breakfast. So I go to the pool restaurant, bar area... more music!! There are no quiet zones anywhere!! Eventually I find a place to sit, on a wall up the road, with my now cold coffee. Unfortunately, due to the hurricane force, thunder and lightening storms over the last 24hrs solid, reaching the aforementioned coffee wall stop meant dodging crater sized puddles on the road as there are no pavements anywhere. NOWHERE. Fortunately my bed is comfortable, very and the mosquitos share my enjoyment of it. Happy Days :-)

We are currently half way through our 10 day stay and I must say how disappointed we are. We've just had a very stressful couple of months due to our recent house move (as well as ill health thrown in) therefore we were so looking forward to this holiday to relax and recharge our batteries. We so needed this holiday !! The first disappointment was the room which is at the back of the hotel with no view or daily sunshine whatsoever. The balcony overlooks a 30ft line of trees and a hedge below that I can only assume covers the garden area for the room on the ground floor below us. As soon as we checked into the room I immediately went to reception to ask if they had a better room, but unfortunately they had nothing they could offer us and made us feel like cheapskates as they said "this is what you booked "which has really pee'd me off after reading a recent review where they where upgraded to a luxury room for apparently no reason at all !! So we're stuck in a dark, no sunshine, no view room which is very depressing. The list goes on and I will provide a more comprehensive review once back in the UK on the 30th September but just to add....... cold water swimming pool (not heated naturally by the sun over the summer) filthy grass area under the sunbeds, limited set menu with 6 or 7 different starters and main courses that once you've tried everything on the menu, starts all over again, so if your here for 10 days like us, the menu just rolls over. No fresh vegetables with the main course. Not a beach outside the hotel, more of a mud sandbank for the local geese, hotel in the middle of nowhere, bar area in main area not open... the list goes on. Can't wait to give the hotel a full review. The only plus is that the staff are very polite and friendly and the breakfast has a good selection although the breakfast room is more like a canteen. Honestly, can't wait to go home. Such a shame, we sooooo needed this holiday !! 😩

Hotel is lovely with good sized rooms that were clean. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Helped to book reservations at restaurants and taxis. Taxis are quite expensive so used the number 7 bus into old town daily. Reception staff kindly gave us a timetable. Good selection at breakfast however music was a little too loud for us for the morning and music choice was dated. Felt like we were in an 80’s bar rather than somewhere peaceful to start the day. We weren’t asked for teas or coffees when we were seated for breakfast, had to flag down a waiter. Pool area was lovely, with a good sized pool and bar/restaurant area. Had great treatments at the Spa and staff were professional.
