This cosy property sits at just 50 metres from Kavos beach and its water-sport facilities and a half an hour walk through the vibrant green countryside to the unspoilt Asprokavos coastline. Its guests are within a 10-minute walk from the restaurants, shops, nightlife and cafes that are housed in the lively seasonal resort of Kavos and those who are looking for some cultural sights are just an hour's drive from Corfu town and the port of Corfu. The nicely-appointed rooms and family rooms of the hotel are all equipped with toasters and kettles. However, guests can start their day with the hearty full English breakfast at the onsite restaurant and continue with its delightful Mediterranean dishes throughout the day. The bar is the place to chill with a cocktail while guests relax around the outdoor pool working on their tan on the sun terrace. This picturesque moonlit resort is the place to be at night with outdoor BBQ nights, Greek nights and Karaoke nights. On your door step enjoy our sandy beach with free sun loungers & bar/snack service to relax in tue tranquility.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed midJune so I expect it is much busier in high season. A very friendly family run hotel with several different buildings in both style and modernity. A low cost stay so no extras like pool towels or tea and coffee in the room but there is a kettle/iron+board/fridge and a decent hairdryer/shower gel, shampoo and soap. The little mini shop on site sells water(6 large bottles 3 euros) t- cloths and towels, some medicines and mosquito repellents and creams. There are plug in repellents in the room and filters can be bought. Not a bother this time of year. Tons of hot water but the shower could have been elevated by a glass screen not a curtain, however adequate. We had a double room with balcony, small kitchen area (cups and cutlery ) and front seating area. Mattress firm, air con good. There are suites for up to 6 persons or just a double room with a kitchenette. You will not need to dress for dinner as all meals are outside and casual, day and night, even swimwear. The small pool by the restaurant is well used with padded beds all around, no fighting for beds either. Nice music not too blasting. Drinks 4.50 large beer 4 large wine. There is a wine and a cocktail evening. Average pricing we thought. There is little entertainment, mainly themed food but there was a Greek night which was great. Food, traditional dancers, games, flames! ,dancing on tables and plate smashing. Everyone joined in it was a good atmosphere and then the young people dived into the pool, a very different night! Enjoyed. The hotel offers all kinds of trips, well priced. We went to Corfu town for 20 euros each which is more than the service bus which were unreliable, the stop 800 yards away and massive queues. In the weather, which was 30 plus everyday it was better on an air con coach. Well worth a visit some great buildings and views from the Fortress. Food wise- if you are a chips every night person then the half board buffet option is not for you. A small choice of maybe 3 mains and 3 veg, 2 carbs and always fruit and a dessert. Ice cream tubs and lollies sold too but not at the buffet. All were really tasty slow cooked meats ( succulent pork, slow roasted lamb or bbq chicken) marinades and of course maybe 3 salads, olives and dips too. Small choice but all delicious .There was a pizza night which was fabulously tasty -cooked outside in the stone oven. The buffet is chosen from a separate small room, same as breakfast (cooked and continental- many cakes and fabulous breads )and taken to the outside tables. Waiter service for the drinks. Of course the restaurant menu is available all day and has more Greek options and also burgers, steaks, pasta and many other dishes as well as paninis etc. From 8/18 euros pp approx. I would suggest paying for all drinks and food as purchased to avoid confusion and delay agreeing the total on departure. The larger rectangular south pool has it's own bar and seating area with around 40 sunbeds and new umbrellas. Set in a grassy area- again no rush for a sunbed at this time of year. The whole complex has grassy and floral areas which are well kept around all the various buildings. Wifi around the pool areas good. Rooms intermittent. The 'leisure' building could do with a revamp as there was a sofa, small book library, pool table and arcade machine alongside a couple of gym equipment machines and the baby toys. The baby pool being just outside the door to the rear of the dining area. A few cats hang around but not a problem, they are well behaved. The amount of peace and quiet you will get is entirely at the mercy of your neighbours. There were several 6+ groups, all different nationalities but very loud. Not the hotel's fault and to be fair there are many different areas you can escape to including the little beach down the side of the hotel. This has free sunbeds/brollys and very gentle slope in the water so good for kids. Not golden sand and well used beds but a lot of guests did go there. About 30 mins dusty walk up the rough road to the left of the hotel you can get to the beautiful golden sands of Arkoudillas beach. Sun bed and brolly 5 euros, small drinks shack but no toilets. Worth the walk as the same road splits to take you to the beach or up the hillside to a small ruin of a monastery with good views and then a downhill longer walk to the beach through the shady trees. We did not go into Kavos as the road was long, winding and dusty with no lights. Lots of the usual shops etc, eating places and many nightclubs, the young ones not arriving home till breakfast. Overall we had a tranquil holiday, could not fault the staff and in fact have never been anywhere so friendly, all were always ready to chat and share local knowledge. A more personal type of hotel and many guests return year on year.
I had a great visit at Med blue. Easy check-in process and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I will no doubt return! (the greek night is amazing!)
My family and I had a wonderful week at the Mediterranean Blue recently. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful (special mention to Penny and Marios who took care of us from start to finish). we fully enjoyed the breakfast every morning and especially enjoyed the the Greek night also. Fully recommend the hotel as a place to stay in Kavos.
We stayed at Mediterranean Blue this summer and had a truly wonderful experience. The resort is family-run, and the entire family is exceptionally warm and welcoming. They made our stay very comfortable and were highly accommodating throughout, especially ensuring that our two toddlers had an enjoyable experience.
The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, and we particularly enjoyed the convenience of the resort’s private beach, which we visited each evening to watch the sunset. The pool area was also excellent, including a dedicated children’s pool, which was ideal for families.
The resort has a charming setting with beautiful architecture reminiscent of a traditional old town. The owners and staff were consistently friendly, approachable, and happy to provide recommendations or assist with booking excursions directly from the hotel.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the food, with themed evenings such as pizza night and BBQ night adding variety and atmosphere to the stay. Unfortunately, we missed the Greek night due to the dancers’ unavailability, as it was rescheduled to our departure day.
There are a few small improvements that could further enhance the resort, such as adding a few bathroom amenities and potentially expanding the fitness area. The existing gym equipment is functional but could benefit from additional space and maintenance.
Overall, we had a memorable stay and greatly appreciated the hospitality. We hope to return again in the future.
I had an amazing stay at Med Blue as a base for combining trekking and relaxing. Mario, Penny and the team were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and extremely varied and the dinners I had were fantastic (homemade pizza a highlight). I did a couple of lovely excursions organised through the hotel, and they organised my coach transfer back. Brilliant value for money. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
