- Kavos Plaza Hotel

This 3-storey complex was completely renovated in 2012 in a location ideal for couples and families looking for a relaxing holiday. Lying in the beautiful resort of Kavos (Corfu), the establishment is only 200 metres away from the beach and the light blue coastal waters of the Ionian Sea. If guests prefer the privacy of the hotel swimming pool, they can laze around all day, interrupting their sunbathing just to order a drink or a snack at the poolside bar or to go for a meal at the on-site restaurant. The experienced, friendly hotel staff will be only too pleased arrange for local island cruises and to give advice in different languages about what to see on this famous Greek island. The hotel offers spacious twin rooms, 3-bed rooms and apartments, all of which have private balconies and a fully-equipped kitchen. A daily cleaning service is provided for all accommodations.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Overall has been a pleasant stay. Good points are the reception team (very helpful, friendly and engaging), location in a quiet corner and the swimming pool. The room is old and beds are not comfortable. The shower holder was broken and cleaning of the room not the best. What I found anyway more annoying was the wi-fi which was weak and kept disconnected and eventually not working time to time… Breakfast was just good, nothing special, they serve without ask glad of orange juice and black coffee. No ask if you wish to have a cappuccino instead, for example. Last day they also finished the orange juice and apple become a standard.
Basic and simple room- everything you need, can get to whatever temperature you would like with the AC, has a hairdryer, pool is beautiful and spotless clean, sunbeds are the comfiest ones ever, breakfast is amazing- you chose from a menu and also get a plate with pastries and cakes on, and choice of a juice and coffee or tea, there is a TV, bar is open 24/7 (bit pricey), not far from shops or the beach at all, balcony is lovely
Brilliant holiday. Everything you need in a perfect location close enough to the bars and restaurants but tucked away for a quiet night sleep. Comfortable sun loungers. Pool is lovely and clean. Amazing staff especially Ben. Beds are ok, slept fine. Towels and bedding changed every 3 days. Housekeeping staff are lovely and pleasant. Couldn’t say one negative thing really,
We stayed here with a few friends as we wanted somewhere quiet but we was wrong from 23.00-07.00 quiet zone after making a few complaints nothing was done. Bedding is changed every 3 days but the cleaners change ours every day and after 2 days they billed as £80 which had to be paid in euros (no cards acceptable) and no receipt giving because there was sweat marks on the sheets (air con not working) B&b is basically beans on toast or fried eggs on toast total rubbish. The lady behind the desk is very unhelpful and rude. But will say the guy who works nights there (old guy) is very nice and helpful. Would I stay here again 100% NO Try and book somewhere by the beach side as most of our time we stayed by the beach hotels as they was very helpful with nice food and empty and very little people island beach was fantastic with good music and good deals on drinks and food plus staff was lovely down there
We stayed at Kavos Plaza Hotel for a short hen party trip, and our experience was incredibly disappointing.
From the start, one of our rooms had a broken air conditioning unit and a dirty shower floor. Although the air conditioning was eventually checked, we ended up cleaning the shower ourselves.
Basic amenities and service were also an issue — we had to repeatedly request clean towels (there were four adults but only one towel provided for 4 days), and staff were rude and reluctant to help.
The situation escalated when we asked for a late checkout and were told it was denied due to makeup stains on towels and bedding — something we feel is completely unreasonable for a hotel to penalise guests for, as makeup is a normal part of everyday use and should be handled by standard laundry procedures.
Shockingly, we also discovered that staff had entered our room without notice and taken photos where our personal belongings and IDs were clearly visible. This is a serious invasion of privacy and was done without any prior warning or consent.
When we raised these concerns with the manager, instead of offering support, he challenged us and even inspected our towels and sheets in front of us — behaviour that felt absurd and unprofessional. In the end, he apologised for the miscommunication and agreed to drop any additional charges, but also made it clear that this was "hotel policy" and that he owned multiple hotels with similar practices. We spoke to other guests who were staying at the hotel who had been targeted for 'cash only' payments for the same reasons such as fake tan or makeup on their sheets/towels. Just a heads up if you plan to wear any make up on your holiday !!!
Overall, the lack of basic hospitality, poor cleanliness, privacy violations, and dismissive management left us extremely disappointed. We do not recommend this hotel and suggest future guests consider alternative accommodations in the area.
