Just returned from 12 nights at Cavomarina hotel. Warm welcome from the staff on our arrival and throughout our holiday. They go above and beyond to make your experience the best possible. We had booked B&B, we had been transferred from another hotel in Sidari due to the renovations not being completed. On arrival Kavos was like a ghost town with very limited places to go for food and drinks. We were able to upgrade on a daily basis as needed to all inclusive at €38pp, which made a difference to our group. The food was satisfactory, plenty of choices for us. A special mention to Jonny who always greeted us with a warm welcome and a big smile daily. All the staff work so hard and are really friendly. The rooms are nice, we stayed in a swim up room with shared pool, a little more detail to cleaning wouldn’t go a miss. The room was ‘cleaned ‘ daily, the outside area not cleaned and the bathroom needed a more thorough cleaning around the edges. All in all we made the best of our holiday
We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights and overall the facilities were very nice, the food was good, and the rooms were spotless. Unfortunately, our stay was jeopardised by a very rude resident, and I was extremely disappointed with how several situations were handled during our time there.
On Wednesday evening, after returning to our hotel room late at night, another resident staying at the hotel aggressively banged on our door in the middle of the night to complain about noise. We had simply returned to our room and were not being disruptive.
PThe following morning, the same resident approached us again and accused us of making more noise early in the morning, despite the fact that we were actually asleep at the time. There appeared to be construction or maintenance work taking place somewhere above or nearby, which we believe was the real source of the noise.
A couple of days later, we then received a warning letter from the hotel stating that if there were any further noise complaints, we could be asked to leave the hotel. This was extremely upsetting and unfair, and it honestly ruined my stay, especially as we had not been causing excessive noise or behaving inappropriately at any point.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that not one member of staff asked for our side of the story, despite another resident making us feel uncomfortable on two separate occasions. We felt blamed for disturbances that were completely outside of our control, without the situation being properly investigated beforehand.
In addition, we had requested and received approval for a late checkout. However, despite this approval, we later received a phone call regarding the checkout time, which caused unnecessary confusion and stress.
Overall, I feel the situation was handled very poorly from start to finish, and because of this experience, I will not be returning.
We were in Kavos for a holiday, and nearly every day we passed from Cavomarina beach hotel; some days just for breakfast, some days to spend all day on the beach. We also participated in a Greek night. Location is perfect, people are so kind and helpful. Breakfast is complete, and the food was delicious.
My husband and I have just returned from a 7-night stay at Cavomarina Beach Hotel and overall we had a wonderful holiday.
First of all, I would highly recommend booking a private transfer. The journey from the airport took just over an hour, whereas the transfer offered through EasyJet could have taken up to two hours with multiple drop-offs.
We arrived in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to find food had been saved for us, which was a lovely touch after a long day of travelling.
We stayed in Room 123, a swim-up room, and the location was fantastic. It got the sun all day from around 11am/12pm onwards and was very close to reception, the main pool and the bar. The beachfront setting is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful beach and calm sea that was perfect for relaxing.
The food was excellent throughout our stay. Some reviews mention a limited selection, but we found there was more than enough choice and it avoided unnecessary food waste. The quality of the food, particularly the meat dishes, was outstanding and something my husband and I genuinely looked forward to every day.
The staff deserve special recognition. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming and willing to help. Their customer service really made our holiday and is one of the main reasons we would return.
There are a few areas that could be improved. The room cleaning was not up to the standard we would expect. Fresh towels were provided daily, but toilet roll was often not replenished and we had to ask reception for more before we ran out. Surfaces, particularly in the bathroom, did not appear to be wiped down regularly. We also noticed that our bed sheets were not changed during our 7-night stay, which was disappointing.
The biggest issue was the shower. The water pressure was extremely poor, often just trickling out, and the temperature constantly fluctuated between hot and cold. Washing my hair was particularly difficult and at times I had to sit on the shower floor and use the slow-running water to rinse it. This really needs attention before future guests stay in the room.
A minor issue was that guests on the floors above often hung wet clothes out to dry, causing water to drip onto our terrace area. On one occasion our towels were left soaked as a result.
The fridge in the room was excellent and kept drinks extremely cold — so cold that our bottled water partially froze. There is also a useful small freezer compartment.
The WiFi was reliable and strong throughout the hotel. There is also a supermarket conveniently located at the end of the hotel entrance, selling anything you may have forgotten or need during your stay.
For anyone interested, late checkout is available, but you need to request it at least 24 hours in advance and there is an additional charge.
One thing worth noting is that standard all-inclusive ends at 9pm. Guests need to upgrade to All Inclusive Plus to receive drinks until 11pm. As a result, many guests leave the hotel after 9pm to visit local bars, which is a shame because the entertainment provided by the hotel often seemed underappreciated.
Despite the issues with housekeeping and the shower, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful, the food is fantastic, and the staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff we have ever encountered. Because of that, we would happily return to Cavomarina Beach Hotel in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, which is situated right on the beach in a peaceful and relaxing setting. There were plenty of sunbeds available both around the pool and on the beach, so there was never any need to reserve one early. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, although the hotel also offers all-inclusive and all-inclusive plus packages. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of choices to suit all tastes. A particular highlight was the freshly made omelettes cooked to order, which could be enjoyed alongside a glass of bubbly. One disappointment was that bar snacks such as crisps and ice cream were not available to bed and breakfast guests, which felt like a missed opportunity. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, with attentive housekeeping and fresh towels provided daily. However, the bathroom occasionally had an unpleasant smell, which appeared to come from the drain. Each morning we were greeted by the sound of a cockerel, which added a charming and authentic touch to the surroundings. There are a few areas where the hotel could improve. For example, guests are offered the option to extend their room on departure day, but unfortunately this was not available during our stay. Instead, we had to use a shower facility located near the staff quarters, which was less than ideal. While I can understand why this hotel is rated as a four-star property within its local area, I feel that if it were located in destinations such as Mykonos, Santorini, Paxos or Samos, it would be more comparable to a strong three-star or three-star-plus hotel. Overall, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, with excellent breakfasts, a beautiful beachfront location and friendly service throughout.
