We stayed for 7 nights in July 2025. 4 adults with 2 rooms. When we were shown to our rooms they were incredibly small, not as advertised on their website or on our booking confirmation. The rooms were located next to the boiler room and the cleaning cupboard and these rooms could be accessed by a small walkway from the street. We asked Reception if we could be moved to bigger rooms as shown on the website and which we received on our booking form. We were told there weren’t any available and that all rooms were the same size. That is untrue. The rooms overall were clean and decorated nicely but there was absolutely no space for 2 people. Next door to us (in between the 4 of us) was a solo traveller which was what these rooms were designed for. In our room one person had to sit on the bed when the other one wanted to pass each other. There wasn’t any space to put the suitcases so we were literally stepping over them. One day we left the rooms at 10am to go to Corfu town, returning at 7pm to find our door had been left opened by the cleaners all day! Where these rooms were positioned anyone from the street could have walked into the room. The pool area was ok, large pool but a bit grubby. The loungers were old and there was rubbish left around the pool area. The hotel itself was fine, clean and in a great position but sadly the size of the room did impact our holiday a bit and it became frustrating by the end of the holiday with the lack of space. We have complained to Jet2 but sadly they did not want to know. We paid a lot for the week and that’s why we felt we had to complain as the room was inadequate and it was false advertising, especially what we paid each for the week. If you are booking, especially with 2 adults sharing a room, ask for rooms away from the cleaning cupboard and boiler room.
We booked with Jet2 i Jan 2026 for 11 nights this was. 10 days too long
Jet 2 has a good sense of humour Calling this hotel a 3 Star Luxury …Luxury at this place would be another cruet to match the solitary one in diner which all diners shared.
Be careful when booking because photos and descriptive prose can be very misleading and may not meet your expectations !
We booked for a ground floor room with a view overlooking the pool AT NO TIME were we told that the pool area was owned by the next door hotel !
and was shared. However, this hotel closed down in OCTOBER 2025 !!
and is currently now housing construction workers !
We were given a first floor room overlooking three adjacent balconies (no privacy) and a good view of the boiler room. There was no lounge area or seating for relaxation purposes !
The cooked breakfast whilst was adequate - BUT served cold every day .
This hotel should not be described as 3* Luxury - the staff were very pleasant and friendly and the hotel was clean throughout.
We would never have booked a holiday without a pool/sunloungers.
Just spent a week in the Palotel. As stated by many guests, the rooms are small but imo adequate. The hotel is very clean and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The thing that lets this hotel down is the fact that it has no pool facility. There is a pool in the adjoining hotel but is cordoned off and not used. The adjoining property is not being run as a hotel but as a place for the local workers to reside. Most travel agencies are still marketing this property showing the pool. Be aware.
Spotlessly clean and modern hotel right in the centre of Gouvia, though it wasn’t luxury like its name suggests. One of the main let downs for us was the size of our rooms - we were in the smallest! Nothing like those shown on any of the holiday websites. We mentioned this to the blonde lady on reception on our first day and asked if we could move, though couldn’t as they were fully booked, and after this she totally had our cards marked and there were no pleasantries for us whatsoever. And she was very off, and basically cheeky, to one of my friends the next morning when she asked her a question so we gave her a wide birth after this. We contacted Jet2 on our return regarding the size of the rooms and their false advertising, with several emails back and forwards, but they weren’t interested in the slightest and didn’t get that they’re showing decent sized rooms on their website but this isn’t what you get. We paid practically £1000 each for a tiny room where we couldn’t even walk past each other it was that small!
A serious concern was when we returned from Corfu town, after being out all day, to find the door to one of our rooms open! The cleaner obviously hadn’t shut it, which is definitely not good. We told reception and they apologised but weren’t really bothered. Luckily it was the furthest away room out of three ground floor rooms but these are off a small walkway from the main street - and the gate was never locked and the entrance to our part of the hotel was never locked either!
The restaurant is smaller than it looks in photos and the tables are close together. I enjoyed the breakfast though some reviews mention the coffee but there’s a machine and also instant so nothing to moan about. The member of staff watching over you, doesn’t, she’s there in case you need anything. She didn’t make us feel uncomfortable.
The pool belongs to the hotel next door and is pretty scruffy and needs the loungers and parasols replaced. Neither the area or the pool are regularly cleaned and we had to remove cigarette ends from a lounger on one occasion.
Overall we had a great holiday in Gouvia, it’s a bit run down but there’s lots of lovely restaurants.
Stayed June 2026, lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, central location. Staff were amazing and so helpful, good AC in the room, nice and bright, lots of hot water. Plenty of choice at breakfast also. Only downside was no pool to use as the one available belongs to the hotel next door which has now closed, we didn’t let this worry us though as used several surrounding ones (as long as you bought food & drink from them). Would definitely recommended this hotel and will return
