Vaggelis from room service is incredibly helpful and friendly, he has made our birthday celebration trip unforgettable!!!
Orgest from guest experience has provided us with such great recommendations, he has given us such a positive experience, very professional!
The hotel staff were exceptionally pleasent and helpful from our arrival. The buffett food was varied and well presented, as ever in a hotel with a wide mix of nationalities and not just us Brits. The hotel waa spotless.Reasons we booked were we wanted a variety of things for three children to do one 11 ,two 17/18, so pools and kids activities for 11yr old, and watersports and marina (yacht spotting for the older two).We didnt want sunbed wars so bookes preferred club and that worked well no early getups to find 5 sunbeds together ...however the big pool did require an 8 rise but no "scmable" or locked gates and queues so it was still more civilised. The resort felt very safe and allowes thr younger one to roam although she did have her phone. All inclusive was good but i preferred the winder to sugar ref cafe and listen to the guitarist there.Night entertainment no idea but it was on thats all i can say..special mentiin to George bellboy, Villiki pook drinks staff. And Yolanda preferred club reception.I would recommend
What a lovely family holiday. We travelled as a family of 10 on 3 separate bookings with children aged 2,6,14,18 and adults 40-73 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Although arriving late we were offered a small buffet in the main restaurant before we were shown to our room which was lovely. ROOMS We booked two standard inland view rooms, one for us and one for our 14 and 18 year old, we ended up one floor apart but in distance this wasn't far at all. we ended up with a partial seaview room which was amazing, room 606. The rooms were really spacious and very nicely done with a clean minimalist feel and a mini bar that was replenished daily with a few soft drinks, beer and water. The maid was fabulous. My sister was given room. 822 and had a view over what looked like a bit of a dumping ground so asked to move and was offered a beach bungalow with Seaview at a discount rate of 1200 euros which they felt was worth it. The room was pretty much the same size but bathroom much bigger and bigger balcony, this also offered them preferred club access to their separate pool and breakfast lounge although they didn't get the use out of this much as we were all together during the day.
POOLS We mixed it up between the lagoon pool and infinity pool and yes we did find people reserving sunbeds but not at ridiculous times. There was normally a couple of our party up earlier wanting to sit on the beds with a coffee and a book anyway so this was just us starting our day but for most days you could still see some free beds around 9.30/10 and the beach ones didn't fill as fast. the views by the infinity pool are stunning and it's right near the beach to access the water sports, boat trips or the water inflatable which is a must, this was a lot of fun. The waiter service was much quicker at this pool than the lagoon pool with them coming round frequently to ask if you needed anything and sometimes bringing mini refreshing snacks as well. this pool has a small shallow kids pool attached but majority of the actual pool is too deep for young children if not right by the steps. The lagoon pool has shallower areas and ideal to play ball in. It's more of a party vibe with the music, kids club activities, swim up bar and water aerobics but we did find service a bit slower here. Both pools offer the choice of lunch in a la carte restaurants as well which is great and have snacks like pizza or focaccia sandwiches and ice-cream.
BEACH/ WATERSPORTS We did paddle boarding which was great, as first timers we really enjoyed it, we hired a kayak and did the sofa surfer pulled by speedboat which again was a lot of fun. You pay extra for these, paddle boarding was 20 Euros for an hour which we thought was good value and they will let you swap person. The water inflatable is included and was never super busy when we used it. There is a lovely bar (sugar reef) overlooking the sea with a really calm atmosphere.
FOOD We found the buffet restaurant really good with always something everyone could eat and even the kids tried a variety of foods. There was always fresh fish and meat, multiple salad bar choices and a different theme each night. Mexican night included lots of sushi which we wished we had known as we missed it. Plenty of desserts and the waiter service was always quick for drinks. A LA CARTE We only visited the Italian and the seaside grill. The italian was lovely, nice and chilled and we all enjoyed our food, we ate there for lunch also. Seaside grill was good food but slow service and as a table of 10 we were split over two tables but the sunset views were incredible and live music started throughout our meal which really made it. We were able to get into a couple of others but it was always 6.30pm and we like to stretch out our days so we were happy to go to the buffet and eat later.
STAFF The reception staff were very accommodating trying to sort our restaurant bookings via WhatsApp and a boat trip we wanted to take. We didn't go with their options as the cheapest was 1100 Euros for a smaller boat and it meant two of our party couldn't attend and the next option was 1500 Euros. The boat looked fabulous and you had a host and lots of space but not what we wanted to spend. We found our own on Get your Guide for 450 Euros for all 9 of us which was fine as one doesn't like boats and it was amazing, slightly smaller, 4 hours and had snorkel equipment and floats, included snacks and all drinks which we couldn't finish. The skipper was informative and took us to two gorgeous snorkel spots by separate islands and all along the coastline which was stunning. He happily took photos for us and it was our favourite day. The boat company was called Manatos boat cruises and Spiros was lovely.
Overall we travel far and wide and appreciate good hotels and we would return here which we don't normally feel the need to do so that says a lot for us. There is so much to enjoy and then grounds are beautiful.
We've just returned from a week here. Staff without exception were a credit to the hotel, nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly without being intrusive. We stayed in the preferred club area and would definitely recommend this if you like a more leisurely start to your day. We could always get a sublounger even when we'd gone out for the morning whereas on the 2 occasions we tried to go to the lagoon pool towels were down on empty loungers by 9am but this was nowhere near as bad as other places we've stayed.
Food was of a really good standard. My only complaint would be that sometimes vegetarian options were limited especially in the bookable restaurants (options were best at lunch in the buffet). If you like a cocktail, get them from the à la carte restaurants or beach bar as the terrace bar ones weren't great (too luch syrup making them very sickly). In the preferred lounge there are branded drinks and you can mix your own. I would highly recommend the wine tasting, it was a great experience. Again though, if you're vegetarian make sure you let them know when you book as there are canapés paired to the wines.
My reason for giving 4 not 5 stars is the app (it never worked for bookings) and experiences of a la carte restaurants. We booked 3 through reception but at 2 of them we arrived to be told they had no record of the booking. They still found us a table but at both the Italian and grill we were asked to pre order our desserts when we arrived as the kitchen was closing soon (this was 8pm) and felt rushed. Not really what i would expect at a 5* hotel. We particularly enjoyed the food at Pappous. The trattoria and seaside grill were also good but menu choices were very limited, even for meat eaters at the trattoria.
These are really only minor niggles and we had a great holiday, would definitely recommend.
