We often believe that a memory is an image we get from a beautiful landscape or a rare experience. However, the memories we actually hold on for a lifetime are the ones that were inscribed through the feelings we experienced at a certain moment. For us, feelings are the memories we create. It’s the feeling that you get staying at Mayor Mon Repos Palace “Art Hotel”, an iconic, adults only hotel in Corfu made for serene moments. Located on the edge of Garitsas Gulf, with views of the Ionian Sea and the old Venetian Fort in Corfu town, authentic and premium hospitality awaits in the historic Mon Repos Palace Hotel, where elegance meets luxury and classic meets contemporary. Its location, just a breath away from the city, makes Mon Repos Palace Hotel the ultimate Corfu town hotel with 4 star luxuries while its design, with selected 18th century antiques from the Achillion Palace, justifies its classification as an Art Hotel. For you, it’s ground zero for your exploration of Corfu and simultaneously the pinnacle of your stay. Mon Repos Palace Hotel rooms offer comfort and luxury through classic and minimal styles and touches. Most of them offer panoramic views to the Ionian Sea or Corfu’s Fort for you to enjoy, while the nearest beach is about 20 meters away. The exquisite hospitality of this Corfu town hotel of 4 star luxuries is completed by the Passaggio Bistrot Restaurant, with its rich flavors and regular music events, popular among the locals, as well as visitors. We welcome you at Corfu’s top adults-only Art Hotel and we promise a unique hospitality experience, inspired by the luxury of an old era.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The best breakfast from a hotel, coming from a serial traveller. The rooms and hygiene are top tier. Order lunch here- you will not regret it. One of the tastiest Greek salads in my whole experience of Greece. The service of waiters is excellent, they are friendly and efficient. We arrived early and our room was ready for us within ten minutes. Great value for money. 20 mins walk to the old town, which is well worth it. Or ten euros back to the hotel back taxi. Ask reception for a taxi earlier, as the wait can be a little bit longer at peak times- going in for dinner say. The only room for improvement - the hotel needs more sun loungers. After breakfast the amount of tables on the terrace is not needed- this should be made for sun loungers as there is only 10 for over 100 rooms.
Although we enjoyed our stay, I would have to say it is more of a 3 star than a 4 star hotel. Rooms are very small without much storage, and the bathrooms were especially dated with no hooks or shelving to put your toiletries on. The general design was not well thought out. My mum (who I shared a room with) found it incredibly difficult getting in and out of the shower with no rails and no anti slip base. Also an old shower curtain felt unhygienic and stuck to your body as you washed. Furthermore, the shower rail fell down in my dad’s room. The mattresses were like planks of wood and very uncomfortable which meant we never felt fully rested. Having only 10 sunbeds for a large hotel was totally inadequate, but there are sunbeds available at the cafe opposite for the cost of a drink which made up for it in part. The swimming pool was small but we were unable to use it because there were never any sunbeds available. The staff were incredibly friendly, hardworking and always happy to assist. However, the manager of the dining hall was incredibly aggressive towards the staff, which was totally uncalled for. She was even seen behind the hotel shouting at some staff members. It was a shame because they worked so hard. Food was lovely. The buffet breakfast had an extensive choice with food to suit everyone. Corfu is a beautiful island and we did enjoy our stay. However this hotel is in major need of a refurb and I don’t think I’d stay here again.
Very good location, nice area with a lot of restaurants and bars around. The best in this hotel is staff: very pending, efficient, friendly. Both at reception and in bar/restaurant. However, with rooms we had some problems. The bathroom needs urgent maintenance: things are falling down (I arranged to put curtain that fell down), the hanger for towels lives it last days, the birds (swifts) at balcony will accompany you for the whole day with loud singing, and the size of this Deluxe room than others. Also according to Booking it should have need boiler for water (to take tea) and it was not in place. The door to bathroom can’t be closed well, so you can hear everything in the room. And one day we had visitor in toilet: cockroach.
We have had such a fantastic stay at Mon Repos Palace and honestly don’t understand some of the negative reviews. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff has been welcoming, attentive, kind and genuinely happy to help.
Our room was spotless, with a beautiful sea view that made waking up every morning even better. The housekeeping team did an excellent job throughout our stay, keeping everything clean and tidy.
The staff have gone above and beyond, answering any questions we had, helping us book excursions and giving us advice on the best ways to get into Corfu Town. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble.
The location is perfect. The 2A bus stops just around the corner and takes around 10 minutes to reach Corfu Town for only €2 per person. If you prefer, it’s also a lovely 25-minute walk along the seafront with beautiful views. There’s also a lovely public beach with sunbeds just around the corner from the hotel, making it easy to spend a relaxing day by the sea.
The atmosphere around the hotel was brilliant. It was relaxed and welcoming, and we found it really easy to chat to both other guests and the staff, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Although the pool area only has around 12 sunbeds, we never had any trouble finding one. The pool was always spotless, and we regularly saw staff maintaining and cleaning it throughout the day.
The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of fresh food every morning, so there was always something for everyone. Considering everything that’s included, we felt the hotel offered excellent value for money.
As for the noise, we could occasionally hear people in the corridor, but that was to be expected in any hotel. Once inside our room, we found it peaceful and had no issues getting a good night’s sleep.
Overall, our stay at Mon Repos Palace has exceeded all of our expectations. The hotel is clean, the location is ideal, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff are a real credit to the hotel. Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable
We’ll definitely be returning in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mon Repos Palace to anyone visiting Corfu.
Brilliant location just a 30 minute walk to town with lovely tavernas close by. A few negatives- very limited sun beds so not possible to comfortably have a quick dip, then dry off after a day out, very limited storage for cases and clothes- overcome by using bedside tables as a luggage stand and a somewhat dated bathroom. Our check in was a bit rushed with little information given regarding the hotel and surrounding area and not particularly welcoming- though we did have a nice cold limoncello drink which we took up to our room whilst manhandling bags and suitcases! To focus on the positives the restaurant staff were efficient and friendly and the cleaning staff were brilliant, everything was spotless. The bathroom and air con all worked well and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice and contrary to other reviews, we found the restaurant manager to be friendly and certainly extremely hard working. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel.
