Disappointing hotel which could easily be better
This hotel has a good location. Sea-facing rooms have good views and anyone with reasonable fitness will be able to walk to Corfu town. If not, the bus costs two euros each way. There are restaurants and bars close by. We found the hotel rooms and the public spaces to be very clean and most of the staff were friendly. That's the positives. On the downside, there's an air of faded glory about the hotel. The decor in public spaces is old fashioned. The bedrooms are ok, albeit rather small (we had a deluxe room). The main problem was the bathroom. It's not really acceptable at these prices to have a shower over a bath with a clammy shower curtain. My wife and I are pensioners, both with replacement hips. Since you can't use the bath to bathe (no plug) as a shower it's a dangerous obstacle course. The base is curved so it's hard to keep your balance - especially standing on soap suds - and that's compounded by a total absence of grab handles. It's an accident (and a law suit) just waiting to happen. A few Euros spent on safety handles and coat/robe hooks would be (overdue) money well spent. Better still, ditch the bath and get a proper shower cubicle installed. Outdoors, there's a small pool and a few sunbeds. But you're right next to a road and footpath. A few opaque glass screens would also be a good investment to give guests some privacy. The bar area is very dark and dated. The restaurant is also old fashioned and the food is very uninspired. Salads and fruit dishes are ok (but that's not hard to achieve). The hot buffet has a school dinners vibe. It didn't vary much and several of the dishes were over-salted. Meats were generally tender, but accompanying dishes were dull and uninspired (dry pasta, tough vegetables). We regretted going half board because dinners weren't really very nice. The hotel seems to be resting on it's faded laurels. The modest plot and building size is hard to remedy, but customer's expectations have moved on since it was built and it's time to invest in upgrades or the owners can expect increasingly unfavourable reviews. Shame, because Corfu is nice and the hotel location is good, with almost no aircraft noise despite the proximity to the airport.

We paid for a sea view room and when we arrived at the hotel we discovered that our room was a side sea view room. We brought this issue to the attention of the manager who offered us a room on the other side of the hotel the following day, which was another side sea view room. He stated that there was no sea view room available. We agreed to accept this room as there was no alternative option on offer. We were very disappointed as there was a price difference between what we paid for and what we had to accept. Also, on checking out on our final day the lady on reception merely asked us what our room number was and for our key cards. There was no further conversation. We found this very unusual, having spent quite a large amount to stay at the Mon Repos Palace Hotel. We weren't even asked how was our stay at the hotel or even if we enjoyed our time in Corfu. It is usually normal protocol when leaving any hotel that the hotel staff would ask how was your stay.
Good quiet location
We enjoyed our last night in Corfu at the Mon Repos - certain things definitely need updating though - the shower over the bath is pretty depressing with the clinging shower curtain! However the buffet breakfast was great and the evening buffet at 25euros was very good with lots of choice. We loved having breakfast on the terrace. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR BATHROOMS!

Lovely old hotel close to Corfu town with seaview
Lovely Art Deco hotel 20 mins walk along a seafront promenade to Corfu town. Very peaceful with attentive professional staff. Compact room, very clean with comfortable beds d good quality linen. Could do with a kettle rather than a Nescafé machine for water. Fridge and water provided along with towelling robe and slippers. Nice restaurant with music some nights. Hot showers! Good quality buffet breakfast and dinner buffet is 25 euros. Small pool next to the road with limited sunbeds. Sea views create a nice relaxed place in the outside restaurant. Would go back
