Located in a quiet side street, the hotel is very close to Corfu town's historic Spianada and guests have easy access, on foot, to all the important sites and attractions of Kerkyra: Liston, the two great fortresses, museums and Corfu town's fine restaurants, shops and cafes. The hotel, housed in a gloriously restored neo-classical mansion, is an oasis of calmness in the heart of the island's vibrant city. Originally built as the 19th-century residence of one of the island's prominent families, in the 20th century the edifice served as a consulate, the National Bank of Greece, and a high school for Corfiot schoolgirls. In 1988, the apricot-hued stately home became a hotel known for the Most Serene Republic and in 2006 it was lovingly renovated to serve the needs of third-millennium guests from all over the world. The hotel comprises 31 rooms with ancient charm, yet fitted with all comforts of modern life. ROOM DESCRIPTION: “Classic double/twin room”: located on the ground floor (with view to the garden or town) or first floor (with view to the town/park). "Standard double/twin room": located on the second/top floor. These are the most peaceful rooms & have smaller horizontal windows with limited view because the hotel is a listed building. Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Can’t say enough about this hotel and their staff! We had a wonderful experience. Rooms great. Location great. Breakfast and staff were outstanding!!!
Lovely place, exceptional staff. Special thank you to Spiros, who always had a smile and lovely suggestions of restaurants. Rooms were very comfortable too with a large (for Greece) modern bathroom. The room cleaning staff were very cheerful. The breakfast staff were very attentive and you dine outside under trees amongst flowers. Had the most delicious rose jam at this hotel. Bought some at duty free, but it was not as good as the one at the hotel. Will definitely stay here again!
We stay here a lot sometimes twice a year always a warm welcome from all the staff as soon as you walk into the hotel nothing is too much trouble and the rooms are very comfortable and peaceful. Breakfast is lovely and we have a very enjoyable relaxing stay here
We stayed in this charming boutique hotel in Corfu Town last week. It is perfectly located in the Old Town and everywhere is within easy walking distance. The area most comes alive after sundown when it pulsates with people having fun, shopping and enjoying meals at all the very many restaurants. The excellent staff at the hotel more than make up for the small size of the rooms (don't bring big suitcases!) and there is a lovely garden for breakfast and a pleasant terrace for outdoor sitting. I wish to mention especially Nasia, Constantina, Georgia and Spyros and to thank them for their good advice, their help and efficiency and their concern for our wellbeing at all times. I have travelled all over the world and stayed in countless hotels and I can honestly say that they are the nicest hotel staff I have encountered anywhere.
Great location, super attentive staff, and lovely garden. Just choose your room carefully if you’re sensitive to noise. We had booked one of the two romantic rooms which was on the first floor directly above the front desk and at the top of the stairs. We could hear the phone ringing and people talking in the lobby area especially early in the morning. Also be aware that the shower and sink are part of the bedroom with just a clear glass divide. The staff kindly moved us to a lovely corner room on the same floor which was great so try to get one of those if you can. Room type aside, we loved our stay at this hotel and would definitely stay again.
