Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We checked in late in the evening and were extremely disappointed by the condition of the room. The mattress had multiple visible reddish-brown stains, including stains that appeared blood-like. The refrigerator was dirty, had visible rust/corrosion and even contained a dead insect. The kitchen was also unclean, and the windows/balcony doors would not properly close or lock, which made us feel that the room was not secure. The bathroom window was visibly dirty as well.
We were travelling with our child, who has skin irritation, and we did not feel comfortable allowing our child to sleep in the room or use the kitchen and refrigerator. We reported the problems to reception, but we were told that no alternative room was available. We therefore had to leave and find another hotel late at night.
The only positive thing was that the staff member we spoke to was polite. Unfortunately, the condition of the accommodation was unacceptable, and we could not stay.
We also requested a refund through Booking.com. Although we provided photographs and video evidence, the property refused the refund request, and Booking.com told us that they could not offer any further assistance beyond €31.92 in Travel Credits, despite the fact that we had paid €277.60 for this hotel. We also had to find alternative accommodation at around 1 a.m., which cost us an additional €110. In total, we paid €277.60 for an accommodation we could not stay in, plus €110 more for the replacement hotel, and were offered only €31.92 in Travel Credits. This was extremely disappointing and, in our view, nowhere near adequate compensation for such a bad experience.
Based on our experience, we would not recommend this accommodation.
WARNING, this hotel is disgraceful, very dirty and falling apart. The photos are obviously from when it first opened. To start with I had to wash the floor twice as our feet were black from it. The bar was empty for the two weeks we were here and never saw or smelled food , one couple were waiting at reception as they had booked breakfast but there wasn’t any. we had to ask for clean towels and bedding after waiting for six days even though they say it will be done every three. Kitchen was a joke and didn’t use pool coz worried about cleanliness to be honest . Stairways don’t seem to ever get cleaned. As a country that has water shortages I was amazed to be told that you have to basically empty your tank down the drain in order to get cold water, even then it wasn’t cold .The only person that did anything was the groundskeeper. I also had to use my phone data to post this as the Wi-Fi is terrible .13 years we have been coming to Cyprus and have never encountered a place like this 🤢. I would rate this place as a 0 not even close to a 1
We booked a stay at Marica's Boutique Hotel and paid for a Deluxe Suite with a pool and sea view. However, after checking in, we were forced to leave the hotel in less than 30 minutes because it was impossible to stay there due to the extremely poor sanitary conditions.
The room was very dirty. We found cockroaches in the kitchen and even in the bed. The hotel is completely unsuitable for accommodation, so we checked out immediately and did not use the accommodation service.
Furthermore, the hotel's facilities did not match the description. There were no sun loungers by the pool, the pool itself was dirty, the children's pool was empty and closed, and the bar was not operating. We were unable to evaluate the restaurant or kitchen because we had to leave the hotel immediately.
We have repeatedly tried to contact the hotel owner to resolve the issue and request a refund, but our messages have either been ignored or left unanswered. It appears that the hotel is deliberately avoiding communication with guests in order to avoid issuing refunds.
It's a filthy place. It should be illegal to call it a "boutique." There are no glasses or forks, and bodily waste floats in the air because the toilet doesn't work.
We had just opened the room and walked in when we were hit by a terrible smell of stuffiness and dampness. Then I opened the bathroom door and saw that it was completely black with mold, and the walls and the door were full of moisture. The smell in the room was awful, and from breathing in that humidity all night, we ended up feeling sick — our lungs feel heavy and our throats are in bad condition.
Additionally, the windows were dirty, and the balcony outside was covered in dust and dirt. The entrance and the reception lounge were also dirty and full of dust.
It was absolutely not worth the money for the quality we received. It was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend it to anyone unless a proper renovation is done.
