Worst all inclusive experience
We have just left Kefalos Beach Village in Paphos, and we were quite disappointed with our 7-day all-inclusive stay. I would not recommend this hotel unless you are happy to spend all day by the pool drinking cheap beer. I would also advise potential guests to read the reviews carefully. Our experience was very different from many of the extremely positive reviews we had seen before booking.
- Location and beach
The hotel is advertised as a beachfront hotel; however, the beach is not suitable for swimming. It is very rocky and dirty. There is no beach attendant, and it feels like the hotel staff simply do not care about what is happening in this area, even though it is part of the hotel grounds. In our opinion, paying extra for a seafront hotel does not make much sense when the beach is in this condition. 2. Rooms The hotel offers one-bedroom apartment, but they are quite outdated. We spoke to several other guests who expressed similar opinions. The showers are old and rusty, and the furniture is also dated. Our beds were extremely uncomfortable, and after sleeping on the old mattress for six nights, both of us experienced back and neck pain. The children slept on the sofa beds, which were also very poor quality, very thin and uncomfortable. 3. Cleaning and housekeeping The room service was really poor, and I eventually had to make a complaint to reception. For a 4 star hotel, the towels provided were extremely disappointing. They were so old that they looked more like cleaning cloths, and some even had small holes in them. Cleaners also repeatedly forgot to leave basic items such as shower gel and shampoo. Cups and glasses were neither collected nor replaced, and it seemed that we were expected to wash them ourselves. I understand that these apartments are also used by guests who may cook and clean after themselves. However, if you are paying for an all inclusive package, I would expect a proper housekeeping service to be provided. 4Food Breakfast was very basic and, as far as we could see, the selection did not change throughout our stay. If you have dietary requirements, you have to actively chase the waiters because there was very little information or choice available at the serving areas. It felt as though suitable options were hidden rather than clearly provided. The quality of lunch and dinner was generally acceptable, but the choice was quite limited and very repetitive. The traditional food night took place only once during our stay. If you have a fussy eater in your family, you may struggle. Apart from deep-fried chicken nuggets and fish fingers, which were more or less McDonald’s quality, there was very little suitable for children. By the end of our stay, the children’s food corner had been completely removed. 5. Entertainment The entertainment was very poor and not particularly interesting. It consisted mainly of charades, quizzes and karaokestyle singers and the hotel’s famous bingo, where you have to pay €5 per line to participate. There was practically nothing for children to do apart from a 10 minute kids’ disco, which starts at 9pm. Never seen entertainment team trying to engage kids for any sort of games. 6 Staff There were a handful of staff members who genuinely made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, the majority seemed uninterested and often made us feel as though they were doing us a favour. Other issues One of the most annoying things was that there was no coffee available during lunch. If you wanted to have a sweet snack with coffee, you had to walk to the pool bar, get your coffee and then return to the main restaurant. The snacks and lunch options at the pool bar were also very poor, consisting mostly of low quality, unhealthy food. Another strange thing was the lack of flexibility with drinks. If an alcoholic cocktail is available on the all inclusive menu, why is it such a big deal to prepare the same cocktail without alcohol when requested? If the hotel is hosting a private party, the lobby bar may also be unavailable to hotel guests, which is very inconvenient when you are staying on an all-inclusive package. The Wi-Fi was also extremely poor and kept disconnecting throughout our stay.
Conclusion We will never return to this hotel and would not recommend it. The most disappointing part was feeling that the guests who had paid a significant amount of money for an all inclusive package were not really valued. It felt as though the hotel was more focused on walk-in customers and guests spending their time drinking at the pool bar because, in our experience, these customers seemed to receive more attention. We are also very disappointed with TUI for offering this hotel as an option. After this experience, we will think twice before trusting TUI with our next holiday

Amazing
Absolutely cannot fault this wonderful place. Staff are wonderful and friendly very efficient. Great location, rooms are clean and spacious. The food is outstanding. We had our reservations as have stayed in too expensive hotels over the years in Cyprus but Kefalos Village resort tops everything. Will be returning here next year. Thank you for an amazing stay 🥰

As like everyone, when you read reviews you have a small amount of doubt and the “oh dear, what have we booked!!” Feeling. Let me tell you now, those feelings were not necessary.
We arrived late afternoon and the reception staff were amazing. We were surprisingly taken around the complex first by golf cart and had all the information given to us before being driven to our room and the luggage being carried there too.
The room was traditional decor, very very clean and very spacious. The balcony was inland but we actually had a side view of the sea which was lovely.
The food on offer was plentiful and tasty. Drinks proper alcohol and not watered down.
All staff I mean ALL staff were friendly and efficient. The outside pool bar has the choice of purchasing from their menu and the food is delicious and the upstairs Divine has a wonderful menu too which we tried as it was a special occasion birthday holiday.
Entertainment each night and day so late into the season which was brilliant and for we never had to fight for a sunbed and there are so many I’d struggle to believe it’s an issue in peak season too.
Bus station is 5 min walks away with €2 charge per person to the Paphos old town or the harbour or anywhere you want.
I have no negatives about this whole holiday at all. So much so we are going back next year which seems to be the standard for most guests as whilst there we spoke to many that had been time and time before.

Disappointing!
Our stay got off to a very poor start, didn't think it could get any worse! We were given a room looking directly to the hotel kitchen with multiple extractor fans creating an unpleasant view. The room was dark and dingy, even with the curtains and shutters open. Thus did not meet the standard we expected for a 4 star hotel. Food - we upgraded to AI very big mistake! The food was cold, low quality and not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel. The dessert selection was especially disappointing there were 4 cakes available on the self service tables, not cut. The utensils didn't appear to be cleaned and covered in food. The fresh food bowls looked appealing but that was the only positive. Oh there was also either jelly or some type of trifle with rich tea biscuits on! Staff - Some staff were fine unfortunately a few were very rude. Especially Manek who works in the bar area. Cleaning - We had to ask for our bin to be emptied as day 3 and never emptied alsothe towels had a strange smell, I left them in the bath and they were changed. Would we return to this hotel? Never.
