Staying at the Elysium in Paphos gives you a wonderfully relaxing base for your Cypriot holiday. The beach is so close at hand and the Tombs of Kings, –one of the area's finest historical attractions– is almost next door.
The Elysium has a wonderfully individual sense of style. Architecturally it feels very modern, but also, absolutely in keeping with some of the finest local architecture. The amenities are wide-ranging and provide you with everything you'll need for a very comfortable stay. Highlights include a multi-level pool and a wonderful Royal Pool available to adults only and guests staying in the Royal Wing.
Great emphasis is given to relaxing you utterly. So do take full advantage of the on-site Opium health spa, complete with steam bath, sauna and Jacuzzi. Moreover, when you're fully relaxed and enjoying that deep-down sense of contentment, you can go and take a turn on the tennis court, or in the PADI dive centre. It'll give you a great excuse to go and get relaxed all over again.
One of your biggest decisions each day at the Elysium will be choosing from one of the hotel's five superb restaurants (some seasonal). Then perhaps you can round off the meal with a drink at the bar. There are three to choose from.

Lovely hotel
This is a beautiful hotel and the service is exceptional apart from my initial experience noted below which has led to a 4 not a 5 star review. I booked my room through Agoda- a deluxe room when I booked I sent the hotel a request for a quiet room. When I checked in I was assured it was a quiet room. It was on level 3 and just above the tennis court. You could hear people playing tennis with the doors closed. When I asked if they had any other rooms at reception the receptionist was argumentative and told me that it was a quiet room and no other customers had complained and that as I booked a deluxe room it would only look over a tennis court or car park. This was not advertised as if it had been I wouldn’t have booked the room. The staff made me feel like I was second class having booked a “cheap room”. And were rude. This is how my holiday started so a really bad experience. I was eventually shown a room at the end of the tennis court which was quieter. The staff since then however made my stay enjoyable. Especially the concierge / bellboys shout out to Gabor. Food was lovely. Plenty of loungers. Gym modern and clean although air con wasn’t working properly. Breakfast good choice and tasty. Good location to harbour and shops.

A Wonderful Stay with a Few Disappointments
We had a wonderful stay at Elysium Hotel. The service was excellent, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the pool was relaxing, and the entire hotel was very clean. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, and the hotel’s location was very good, close to everything. The noise levels were low, which made the stay even more comfortable.
The hotel staff were very kind and friendly, especially Fondos, who provided truly exceptional service with genuine care and dedication. We also appreciated the taxi service provided by Jack & Sons, which was very convenient.
However, there were a few things that disappointed us.
First, there were not enough activities at the hotel. One night when a singer was performing, there was no available seating for us, even though there were no reservations. When a table finally became available, a waiter seated us, but just a few minutes later, another waiter asked us to leave because he had not noticed that other guests were waiting. We respected the situation and left, but this was an unpleasant and disappointing experience, especially because we had been seated by the staff themselves.
Second, on the day of our check-out, we ordered food before leaving for the airport. Unfortunately, the food took more than 40 minutes to arrive, and we could not wait any longer because we had to catch our flight. As a result, we had to leave for the airport without eating, which was very frustrating.
Regarding value for money, the hotel was extremely expensive compared to the level of service we received. Considering the price we paid, we expected a much better overall experience, especially in terms of service and organization.

15+ visits and it just gets better and better
If you want a hotel to compare all hotels it is the Elysium. We’ve visited 15+ times and it’s always the same mix of excellent service, food and ambiance that has continued to just get better and better.

Beautiful hotel. Never seen such friendly staff. Lots of returning guests and lots of hugs. Did and drink superb and very reasonable prices. Rooms comfortable Pool and garden/beach area fab Tastefully furnished

It's the people who make the Elysium so special
We're back at the Elysium again, and I've just realised I never got around to writing the review I promised after our summer stay. So, while we're here enjoying another lovely holiday, I wanted to take the time to thank some of the people who make this hotel so special to us. We've been coming to the Elysium for many years now, and it's somewhere we genuinely love returning to. The hotel itself is beautiful, the surroundings are wonderful and the standards are consistently high, but for us, it's always been the people who make it what it is. One of the nicest things about coming back is seeing so many familiar faces. People remember us from previous visits, stop for a chat, share a laugh and genuinely seem pleased to see us again. It's those little things that make such a difference, and something we've come to really appreciate over the years. A particularly big thank you to Cynthia in Guest Relations, who has looked after us for years. Cynthia is absolutely wonderful and always makes sure everything is sorted for us, often before we've even had to ask. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and we really do appreciate everything she does, both before we arrive and throughout our stays. Thank you, Cynthia, for always taking such good care of us. A special mention also has to go to Luigi, who is always so lovely to us whenever we see him. He always takes the time to stop, have a chat and make sure we're being well looked after. It's always a pleasure to see him, and we really appreciate his kindness. At the front of house, a huge thank you to Gabor, Adonis, Fontas and Thonnasis, who always make us feel so welcome. It's lovely arriving and being greeted by people who remember you and take the time to talk to you. At Café Occidental, thank you to Dionysis, Florentine, Mike and Fotenii. We always enjoy seeing you all, and your friendliness and the way you look after us never go unnoticed. Around the pool bar, a big thank you to Paris, Anastasia and Leontine. You're all fantastic, and we really appreciate everything you do. At breakfast, thank you to Eva and Narin, who are always so lovely and help make such a nice start to our mornings. We'd also really like to mention Stavroula, Ilona, Tatiana, Omkar and Yiannis. Thank you all for your kindness and for being part of what makes our holidays here so enjoyable. I really hope I've spelt everyone's names correctly, and my apologies if I haven't! And while I've mentioned quite a few people by name, I honestly wish I could name every single member of staff. The whole team at the Elysium is amazing, from the people you see every day to those working hard behind the scenes. Everyone plays a part, and we never take that for granted. There are so many people who greet us with a smile, remember the little things or simply take a moment out of their busy day to say hello. I wouldn't want anyone to think their efforts go unnoticed just because I haven't mentioned them individually. We're only partway through our current stay, but once again we're having a wonderful time. After so many visits, you might think we'd want to try somewhere new, but the truth is we always look forward to coming back here. There's something lovely about arriving at a hotel where so many people know you and make you feel at home. I really hope the management know just how fortunate they are to have such a wonderful team. Beautiful hotels can be found in lots of places, but it's the people who make you want to return year after year. To everyone at the Elysium, thank you for another lovely stay and for all the years of happy memories. We really do appreciate you all, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!
