Some hotels enjoy spectacular locations. Some benefit from incredible amenities. And there are a select few that are wonderfully situated and perfectly appointed with superb rooms, amenities and service. The 4-star Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel is one of those rare hotels. It enjoys a beautiful beachfront location in Paphos, within easy reach of the tourist centre and must-see harbour.
There's so much to see and do in Paphos. It's one of the essential places to stay in any holiday to Cyprus. And when you stay at the Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel you'll have easy access to the beach, the harbour, the archaeological sites and the great shops too. But as well as all of that, you'll have the amenities of the hotel itself to enjoy and they really are worth writing home about.
For a start, there are three amazing freshwater pools to choose from (as well as an adults Pool, two paddling pools and a heated indoor pool (heated Nov - Apr).
The hotel's Elixir Spa is another highlight. At the Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel every consideration is given to making your stay relaxing and invigorating and nothing invigorates quite like one of their massages – followed by a wonderfully relaxing aromatherapy treatment. (There are 2 waterslides too for those who fancy a different kind of invigorating experience.)
If you fancy a bit of sporty action, you can take your pick from mini golf to bowls to tennis or table tennis. Or you can work up quite an appetite in the hotel gym. It's particularly well-stocked so you can continue your customary exercise regime, or enjoy a bit of a light holiday work-out to burn off a few extra pudding calories! The hotel offers a professional Bike Storage and storage room for golf clubs
With such a great selection of places to eat, all in the hotel, you'll certainly want to take full advantage. From far Eastern cuisine to local favorites, from a la carte dining to four course meals and the Zephyr adults only a la carte, there’s a menu and a setting for everyone. From the cocktail bar, lounge bar (open to the discretion of Management) rooftop bar ( adult only for Elite class) to the beach bar and adults pool bar to room service, you can choose what, where and when you eat.
It's certainly hard to resist the idea of a little room service now and then, particularly when you return to your room after a busy day. All guests' rooms are spacious and air conditioned for your maximum comfort. And we really do recommend a little light supper or drinks on your private balcony. (Side and full sea view rooms are also available, affording excellent views out over the Mediterranean.)
All rooms are ensuite and come with air-conditioning (May-Oct), central heating (Nov-Apr) satellite TV, phone, tea and coffee making facilities, espresso machine, fridge, hairdryer, minibar on request with charge, free WiFi, free safety deposit box. Fantastic stay in Paphos at Athena Beach— excellent service and food ++ We recently stayed for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Overall, the resort is exceptionally clean (and we are fairly fussy!), offering a fantastic location with easy access into Paphos town and some brilliant, high-quality boat trips nearby. Service - Truly excellent overall. We never had to wait long for waiters during meals, even when things were busy, and the evening bar runners were equally attentive. Sunbed Access: A massive plus - no need for a 7:00 AM rise to reserve loungers here Beach & Swimming - The beachfront is rocky, but three well-maintained platforms provide fantastic, easy access directly into the sea for swimming. Running - There is also a great coastal path right along the beachfront, making it easy to log a 10k+ run without overthinking the route. Food Quality - The overall food quality was great, and the desserts/puddings are absolutely top-class. Gym - Better than most resort gyms I’ve visited, featuring separate weights and cardio rooms. Food Choice - The main buffet selection didn't change much during our 8-night stay, but there was still plenty of variety for us. Entertainment: - Some of the evening acts were good, though a bit limited in style. It would have been nice to see a live 3- or 4-piece rock band or similar variety added to the line-up. Needs Consideration - Bedding: The bedding—particularly the pillows—had a strange odour to it, which was also noticed by others in our party. Definitely not a showstopper, but something the hotel could easily look into. Demographics - During our stay, the crowd was roughly 80% couples aged 40–80, alongside a few younger families, couples, and small groups in that same 40–80 age range. (I would imagine this shifts quite a bit during school holidays!)
Not a great check in at 1am, very rude and dismissive, to much with the cleaning knocking on our door at 8.30am every morning is not what you want on holiday. Incorrect towels being left or none at all, not enough staff walking round outside, only got offered drinks on the beach a few times, they didn't seem to like coming down to the edge, and at the bar upstairs we were not served whilst sat down so we left. Entertainment was brilliant but we didn't know where the locations were half the time as we couldn't always open the app due to dodgy WiFi so didn't know what was on and where, the board outside only covered half the entertainment. Also in the restaurants I noticed there were some flyers on some tables advertising a few of them but these weren't put on every table so we missed them all. The people we did speak to though were friendly and helpful especially the mini market and a few ladies on reception, the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive also. The sun loungers by the beach and parasols have seen better days though and need an upgrade, and not all parasols worked and the grassy areas behind the pool need more grass, mud was in quite a lot of places and especially after they'd been watered it ended up becomming a bog. The grounds are beautiful though and very aesthetic, we were half board and found that it was better than way, we weren't that hungry during the day and just wanted water and lays! Are bill at the end for extras wasn't that bad for the both of us and a lot less than paying for all inclusive. There's a snack bar that sells sandwiches and toasties etc, but we couldn't get a spot by the pool sunbeds, everyone of them was taken everyday but I don't subscribe to petty sunbed wars anyway, are spot on the beach was perfect and we went swimming in the sea off the docks a lot which was cooler than the pool and much more enjoyable, I would say that pool entertainment wasn't great we were there 1 week and only heard music twice during the day, playing music each day would've made it a better experience. The pool was very cloudy though, not not if this was people's suncream but it put me off going in.
Overall a good week, don't think I'd return though, I like trying different places
Great hotel, shame about rowdy wedding parties in Nectar bar, over excited large groups of wedding guests detract from the entertainment and the enjoyment of the majority of other guests. on occasions it can be quite intimidating. really a shame for this great welcoming hotel.
This is our 2nd visit to this hotel everything is amazing. Just one problem the app doesn't work
This was our 2nd time to Athena Beach Hotel, having stayed in Summer 2025 also. We find this to be a great hotel, with lots of activities / facilities to use during the day and evening entertainment.
We use the half board option, so I can't comment on the all inclusive / full board option.
My son enjoys the waterslides at the pool immensely!
It is also just a bus / transfer away from the Harbour/ excursions - which also can be booked through the hotel if you wish.
The rooms are cleaned daily from our own experience here.
The sunbeds around the pool do get taken very quickly, but we have never had any issues finding empty ones in the garden and beach area.
All staff in this hotel are very friendly and helpful.
A great stay always in this hotel. We have already booked to return in summer 2027.
