Avanti Village

Demetria Restaurant Manger and her staff made our stay very enjoyable. She is a true professional in every way. She as the only one that made us feel welcome at the hotel and her staff in the restaurant. The other staff need to learn from this special lady. The actual village was our third visit . My opinion the place needs a makeover . We stayed 12 years ago previous to this and evening meals were served at the Hotel now no evening meals so everyone goes out and no one stays in the hotel for the entertainment or bar. Huge mistake . I have been three times but won’t be going back without evening meals .

Second visit to these lovely apartments. At time of writing this, most recent reviews rave about the friendliness and efficiency of staff-and it's all true. Everyone on the team was great at their job and couldn't do enough to help. The apartments themselves are lovely and the grounds are pretty with lots of effort put into maintaining the gardens. We felt very safe here and would definitely return again. I'm told the prettiest of beaches are a bus ride away, but we were very happy with those nearby, only a couple of minutes walk away. The location suited us but may not be for those who want a lively central spot or party place. This has a family or relaxed couples vibe. The harbour is 20mins walk along a flat shoreline promenade, or there's a bus stop available across the road (or 10 euro in taxi). Buses run every 10 mins or so, organised people download aps and know exactly where the buses are. I'm not that organised. It's easy to get around. A day ticket at 6 euro is great value if you're bus hopping around different places, standard fare is 2 euro. There are several restaurants, souvenir shops, couple of sports bars and the obligatory Irish bar within 5 mins walk. If you're using the self catering to cook, you'll get the very basics nearby but I suggest a trip to the supermarket near the harbour.. its massive and has everything and is better quality than home. Finally, just note that the hotel is cashless (which it wasn't on our first trip). Unfortunately, lots of things going this way. Personally, I'd prefer if the hotel literature didn't try to sell it to me as if its for my benefit (exact wording is that they are continuously innovating to deliver delightful guest experiences). Its fine if its what you're doing for your business, but don't tell me it's for my benefit Just a note,breakfast is 14 euro per adult, which is significantly cheaper than the b &b rates I was quoted from my holiday provider at time of booking. It might be better to get it once you are there.
