Anemi Hotel Apartments

We stayed here the first week in September and it was lovely. Everyone very friendly and it’s a great location. Housekeeping are exceptional and everywhere is spotless and they are so lovely and friendly- perfect. Poolside bar expensive but the service is great. Breakfast for us was not great pretty basic, tasteless and not very exciting at all. Beaches and restaurants very close by. All in all a lovely hotel thank you ☺️

Going to start with the positives. Hotel rooms are pound for pound one if the best that I have had the pleasure of staying in. Spotlessly clean and in a prime central area,though bar streets days are long gone. We are in room 120 that has no sun morning til night but hey that’s the luck of the draw, what I’m not so happy about is the view from the balcony. I appreciate not everyone gets a pool view but a view of disregard pool furniture is not what I expected. Lovely and quiet here that kind of makes up for it but come on it wouldn’t take too much effort to tidy up the areas where the cameras don’t go.

My husband and myself booked a 10-day holiday at The Anemi Hotel & Suites in Paphos for 2 x adults with EasyJet Holidays. At the time of booking, we upgraded to a De-Luxe room – we also requested a quiet room, not on first floor with a double, not twin beds. We were in a 1-bed apartment on the second floor of the old building.

CONS

LIVING AREA/KITCHEN No washing-up bowl or plug – how do you do washing-up? Only x2 of each plate, cup, etc so had to wash up a lot. No cutting board (to make sandwiches, cut fruit, etc. A well-used cutting board smelling of onions was provided on request. Old pack of Huggies baby wipes fell out of curtains when my husband gave them a shake. TVs (in living area and bedroom) were too small – also, the channels on both TVs were not synced, so couldn’t finish watching a film in bed, e.g.

BALCONY Our balcony had no sun at any time of the day* – couldn’t even dry our bath towels. Towel rack not wide enough for towels provided. Washed undies, took 2 days to dry, due to no sun. Patio not swept from last occupants – crumbs on table and floor. No view from balcony apart from a block of residential flats and waste ground. Often noisy. Leaf-blower and other tools frequently used in the hotel-owned section below balcony. Residential car left with engine running for at least 7 mins, filled our apartment with fumes before I realised what was happening and closed the balcony doors. (*Arrived at night, so had to give it all of the next day to see if it got any sun at any time. By that time we had fully unpacked so did not ask to change rooms. Anyway, sun in Cyprus should be a given...)

BEDROOM Had to put a duvet on bed because we were cold due to never any sun to warm the apartment. Duvet was too small for the bed, so had to put it across bed and feet poked out the bottom. Sheets not changed until day 8 of stay, recognised the same black mark on under sheet. Cleaner put the duvet in a cover, which had fasteners with no sticky left – kept slipping out of duvet cover/getting tangled in sheet.

BATHROOM No hook in bathroom other than in shower - where do you put your clothes/towel? No grab rail in shower for safety reasons; shower tray sloped/got slippery. Shower tray flush with bathroom floor, thus ‘puddling’ on floor was unavoidable. No plug in the basin – how do you shave/wash face etc? Frosted door – very little privacy, especially if sharing with a friend or relative, not partner.

POOL AREA Rarely any loungers around pool available – towels are left on them from 9am onwards. None of the loungers can be put in a sitting-up position, which I need due to back problems Many loungers had ratchets missing, so could not be adjusted.

PROS Bath towels soft and plentiful, replenished often. Staff polite, cleaners were friendly. Gym was well-equipped. Pool towels could be changed daily if required – we did not require, as we could not get loungers. Car park was good with a secure entry/exit system. Good central location.
