Almyra

Large hotel with a good seafront location. 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants and probably a further 5 minute walk to the harbour area. Very clean and tidy with there seemed to be someone always cleaning somewhere or other. The standard of room servicing was good but the downside was that it was often after 2.00pm before the room was actually serviced. We stayed on half board and whilst breakfast was excellent we were very disappointed with the dinner provision. Breakfast was served in the Mosaics restaurant which also offered a set menu dinner on just two nights a week. Same starters and desserts each time and just a choice of three main courses. It was closed the day we arrived and the other restaurant (Notios) didn't appeal because of the nature of the cuisine. We weren't given limited assistance by the staff but ended up having a snack meal in the lobby bar. Certainly not half board! Fortunately we subsequently found out that we could use our half board arrangement in the restaurants in the next door Annabelle hotel. We ate there for the remainder of the holiday but it did seem strange to be booked into one hotel and eating at another. There were extensive sunbeds in the grounds which, I am sorry to say, were not very comfortable. They were wooded framed with a solid wooden headboard so there was no reclining feature at all. Two cushions were provided for a little support but we didn't think they were much help. The nature of the beds is very much apparent on the website photo. Not a hotel to which we are likely to return.

This was our first trip to Cyprus and picked Pafos based on travel blogs and picked Almyra because this appeared to be the best hotel in Pafos. From our observation this holds true it is the best hotel in Pafos. It is a large, massive hotel with two pools and sits on the walkway along the water. There is no real beach here just waterfront and even our room the Sea Front Kyma Suite sits back from the water. The view was nice, not special and the room was fine, not amazing. Service was professionally friendly as one would expect at an extremely large high end hotel. The breakfast buffet was fine nothing to be excited about and nothing wrong. Two restaurants one at the pool is Japanese and was the best food we had in Cyrus the other a Greek restaurant was not so good, lacked flavors.

Pafos was not our favorite location in Cyprus extremely commercial tourism. We did visit Latchi and had a lunch at the sister hotel Anassa and it was amazing. On our next visit to Cyprus that is where we will stay.

Amazing staff, Especially the staff at Breakfast, to name the few, Milen, Andrea and Chef Irene, very accomodating and guest oriented. Also the hotel recognizes Bonvoy members and upgrades are given when available. The only improvement needed is in the gym, old bicycles and equipments, needs a renewal. Highly recommend this Hotel in Paphos, Kudos for the team!
