For anyone considering booking I’d give a big yes! As a couple in our 30s this is the first hotel we’ve ever gone to that we’ve said to each other we’ve come back- done Ibiza, Lanzarote, Majorca but paphos is sooo beautiful weather wise and this hotel is prime location, stunning food and gorgeous views ! (Also best pina coladas in town at the swim up bar). Town isn’t thaaat lively so prepare for that but relaxation is key here and some fun boat trips- the fireworks night one seems fun night indeed!
There was a couple of issues during our stay room wise with views/ air con issues etc BUT if this does happen to you at the start - don’t panic. Go speak to reception/ guest services (Swiss born manager amazing), they will help and sort you out they won’t leave you unhappy. This means so much as this kind of help and attention has not been given elsewhere!
Special shout out to Barbara at the spa service who gave the most incredible massage of my life. Have back problems from desk job back home and better than any massage I got in Scotland that’s for sure she is very skilled at her job!
Thank you Alexander the Great for a fabulous 10 days. Perhaps you’ll see us back next year :) Amie and Ryan
Always wanted to stay in this hotel , my wife and daughter arranged a surprise seven night stay for my 75 birthday , and I was not disappointed . We stayed half board and had a side sea view room , mainly overlooking the road , which on occasions was noisy but the humm of the air con kept it low, bed was very good and great shower , lovely soft bath towels
Breakfast was excellent , shown to your preferred table in or out . Very quick service to get your drink tea , coffee etc , loved being able to order your omelettes , poached eggs and more from your table , no queuing at the cooking station, also there was a great breakfast buffet lots of choice .
Customer service booked us into the three themed restaurant, we went to Italian Garibaldi on my birthday and was not disappointed , lovely seven course meal plenty of wine, manager Jordon made sure the good vibes from my birthday continued with some Prosecco .
We went to the Alexander bar afterwards , and Maria made sure the celebrations continued , we shared the Ganesh chocolate cake with the staff , lovely touch by the management together with balloons and card, good varied choice of entertainment over our stay .
Never had sunbed allocation before , but Stephanos made it so easy to change beds to get where you were happy with , front over looking the sea , perfect ., even managed to get our daughter beds beside ours .
The ambiance this hotel has to offer was amazing plenty of places to relax and have a drink , play cards , but for me the staff was its greatest asset, helpful , great customer interaction and service .
Thank you all at the ALEXANDER , you made our stay a great relaxing week , and a birthday I will remember for long time , we will return soon .
We had a great holiday at this hotel. The best holiday hotel I've stayed in. There was everything we needed in the hotel to make us feel very comfortable. The staff were always helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities in the hotel were excellent. The Serenity pool was very nice indeed. Food in the restaurants was always of a high standard with plenty of freshly cooked vegetables and meats with a large range of different foods to choose from. There was entertainment each evening and well worth watching it was too. Well done to all staff at The Alexander The Great Hotel.
Paid less and had better! Arrived at midnight and shown to room 037 see photo. I have never stayed in such a dark dingy and depressive room as 037 it felt like we had been hidden away from other guests as if we had the plague it didn't get any better in the day light. This Hotel has the nerve to call this a cabana what a joke At the side of room 037 runs a service tunnel the noise was shocking through the night we were constantly woken by banging and crashing. I asked reception if they could remove the drink out of the mini bar and they advised me I would be charged 5 euros a day so asked if I could put it on the side in the room as I needed to put medication in the fridge. Was told again that if I removed anything I would be charged 5 Euros a day . Eventually the following day they agreed to move things around which wasn't much use tbh.
After complaining to Tui we were moved after 5 days of 10 day holiday never again.
Many years ago, following a recommendation from our Travel Consultant, my wife and I stayed at The Alexander the Great Beach Hotel, part of the 'Kanika Group Hotels and Resorts', and we have been holidaying there ever since. This is because it is such a wonderfully relaxing Hotel. When you stay at some Hotel's, you sometimes are impressed with a few Staff Members, but at The Alexander the Great Beach Hotel, it is different. In fact, their ethos is such that from Demetris, the General Manager, down to all levels, every member of Staff at this Hotel, polite, welcoming, helpful, professional and friendly. In fact, nothing is ever 'too much trouble'. The Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, but if very rarely, you have a problem, nothing is too much trouble and is dealt with very quickly. First impressions are always paramount to us, and from the moment that you arrive and check-in at the Main Reception, again, nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are superb, with a number of Dining Experiences to choose from with amazing choices of super food options, with something to suit everyone's palate. There is a relaxing Spar at the Alexander the Great Beach Hotel, excellent indoor and outdoor Swimming Pools, with various activities, throughout the day, such as the very popular; Aqua Aerobics, if you can drag yourself from your very comfortable Sunbed. The inviting Beach, has recently, in June this year, been awarded a 'Blue Flag Status' and is immediately in front of the Hotel. My wife and I, normally visit towards the end of September, but this year visited in June, but we enjoyed it so much again, we have also re-booked our normal visit in September. The CEO, of The 'Kanika hotel Group and Resort' is a very impressive person, and I know that he 'prides himself' on the excellent Staff and Facilities, at all the companies properties and Resorts, as does Demetris, the General Manager at the Alexander the Great Beach Hotel. In conclusion, my advice, is for you to give this Hotel, in Paphos, Cyprus, serious consideration, for a future Holiday. The reason being that from the moment you arrive, until the day you return home, you are made to feel very special. Elena, the Reception Manager and her Team, are awaiting your arrival, and give you a 'super' welcome. Finally, I congratulate, General Manager, Demetris and his Staff for an excellent Hotel and also particularly mention, Alexis, the CEO of Kanika Hotels and Resorts, for his 'desire' and 'drive', to create a most special holiday for all Guests. their selling point of the Company, Kanika is; 'Experts In The Art Of Vacation'. It is these 6 words that are a defining part of your 'Holiday Experience at the Alexander the Great Beach Hotel and the rest of the Kanika Group. Please give them a try. We have been holidaying at this hotel for many years and would recommend it most strongly.
