- Akti Beach Village Resort

Surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, the Akti Beach Village Resort is located directly on the Mediterranean Sea. It is constructed in the typical white architecture of the area and features studios as well as 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. Attractions such the Tombs of the Kings, Coral Bay, the Panagia Winery, Paphos Castle, the Mosaic Museum and the centre of the historic city of Paphos are within easy reach. The village resort is an ideal place for couples and families with children who wish to spend their holidays under the Mediterranean sun.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed for one week and really enjoyed our stay. It was further out of Paphos than we realised so had to get quite a few taxis which was €15 each way. The bus stop was a bit too far for us to walk to in the heat. The hotel is right by the seafront and promenade and there was a lovely sheltered cove with a ramp to have a swim which was refreshing in the heat as the pool was quite warm. A 3 min walk around the corner was a bench to watch amazing sunsets. The pool and hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff work hard and are very friendly. The lifeguard (Niko I think) was such a lovely man. Easy to get a sunbed. Food was good quality and there was always something we could find we liked. Mexican and Oriental nights were our favourites. Fresh omelettes to order at breakfast were very good. We were not as keen on the drinks though. Local spirits only but were ok in a cocktail. We didn’t like the wine and soft drinks were very syrupy. Beer was ok. You have to fill up your own water bottles as they don’t provide it. The entertainment team were fantastic and very enthusiastic. Our son loved playing water polo and the disco at night. We requested a second double bed be made up for our teenage son and this was great for him. We had a fantastic view of the pool and sea but did request this directly with the hotel and paid a supplement on arrival as there wasn’t an option on the Jet2 app. Room was clean and great to have a new bathroom. It could do with some more towel rails or hooks though. Overall I would highly recommend the hotel if you don’t mind being a bit out of the main resort.
The resort, overall is lovely. There are two pools, one for families and groups and another much quiet one. There’s easy access to the refreshments from either pool. The sunbeds around each pool go very quickly.
There is not much in the way of daytime entertainment, which is a shame as it could be really good
The food is lovely, and the main restaurant and cocktail bar are lovely with a large range of drinks and cocktails all inclusive.
The thing that lets this resort down is the very tired accommodation. It’s clean and the beds are comfy but some of the apartments are run down and in desperate need of attention. We had to move room on day 2 due to the A/C not working, but the staff were very accommodating.
To summarise, the staff are great, the communal areas are 3 star and the accommodation is a 2.
We've just got back from a two-week stay here and had a really relaxing holiday!
The hotel overlooks a beautiful sea view, and there were always plenty of sunbeds available (sometimes even at 10am!). The pools were lovely too. They weren't particularly cold, but that was probably because of how hot the weather was and the fact they were in the sun all day.
We only watched the evening entertainment a few times, but what we saw was really good. During the day there were lots of activities organised by the entertainment team. I'm not sure of the entertainer's name, but the guy running them was brilliant – really funny, enthusiastic, and got everyone involved if you wanted to be. They did not push you into joining in. There were also free games around the pool on request, plus things like table tennis available .
The food was good overall, although my fiancé and I are quite fussy eaters, so naturally some meals suited us more than others. I'd say it was around 60/40 in terms of meals we really enjoyed. The themed nights were great, especially the Mexican and Italian evenings. When the food was good, it was incredible. We did eat out a few evenings for a bit of variety. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and always served hot. There was ice cream available all day, cold drinking water to refill bottles, and a great selection of cocktails, iced coffees, and soft drinks from the pool bar.
The staff were incredibly friendly throughout our stay, especially the older lifeguard and the head chef, who were great. The reception team were also very helpful whenever we needed anything. The hotel, pool, restaurant, and bar areas were kept spotlessly clean.
The only downside for us was our room. The balcony was never swept during our stay and had a large patch of bird droppings on it for the entire two weeks. We also didn't have a drying rack for swimwear and towels, even though we noticed rooms nearer the pool did, so we're not sure why ours didn't. The bathroom towels also didn't always seem very clean. Compared to the rest of the hotel, the room felt more like a 2-star standard, which was a shame because everything else was so well looked after.
The location is a little further away from the shops, bars, and restaurants, but we found the local bus really convenient. It was only €2 each way and took us to the harbour, Coral Bay, Kings Avenue Mall, and other places with no trouble.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and really enjoyed our stay. If the hotel was a little closer to the harbour and main tourist areas, we'd definitely come back.
The hotel was very clean with friendly staff willing to help. Fast service and support. Our room was quiet, clean with super comfy beds. Also, a huge breakfast buffet and a lot of parking space. Last but not least, the hotel had a stunning view. I would definitely recommend it!
We’ve just returned from a wonderful family holiday and had such an amazing time. The hotel has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and is set in beautiful surroundings, making it the perfect place to unwind. Although it isn’t within walking distance of shops, bars or the harbour, Paphos is only a 10–15 minute taxi ride away, so it was easy to head out whenever we wanted. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. While the décor is a little dated and the bathrooms could do with a refresh, it certainly didn’t affect our stay. Realistically, we only used the room for sleeping and getting ready, so it wasn’t an issue for us. The food was delicious. There wasn’t an overwhelming amount of choice, but we actually preferred that because everything was fresh, well prepared and served warm. Don’t be put off by some of the negative reviews about the food—we found it to be consistently enjoyable throughout our stay.
What really made the holiday special was the staff. Every member of the team was welcoming, friendly and worked incredibly hard. The service in the evenings was outstanding, with staff constantly checking if we wanted another drink, so our glasses were never empty.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to return. We’d happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, friendly getaway in a beautiful location.
