We were a family of 10 ages from 14-75…: What a fantastic hotel everyone made us so welcome from the minute we got there. The staff were amazing from restaurant, bars, poolside can definitely recommend this hotel we will definitely be back ❤️
Lovely relaxing family holiday! We booked very last minute and didn’t know what to expect. The hotel is very clean and ALL the staff are lovely! It’s small enough to walk around everywhere, they are some steps from the pool to the pool bar for anyone with disability issues. The pool itself again is kept very clean and they’re always sun beds available. The food in the restaurant is always tasty but maybe a little repetitive/limited (we always found something and it always tasted lovely). The entertainment team worked hard through the day and Stela in the kids club was amazing with the kids there (our daughter really loved her).
Depending on where you are located depends on noise from the evening entertainment, we were set back abit and it was silent on and evening, however, another family were behind the main stage and ended up moving to another room (more of an issue if you have a family and want an earlier night). The rooms are very spacious and kept clean, and the beds are comfy enough too.
I’d definitely say we got great value for our holiday and would definitely book to return!
Kumar was brilliant very friendly and made our stay feel relaxed. Food was good and different every night which was nice.
Pros: The hotel was clean. Beautiful views. Lots of space for sunbeds etc. Good for families and kids. Drinks were varied. Not much of a language barrier, anything we wanted or needed we could communicate easily. Paphos harbour was fantastic. Loads to do and see all in walking distance and all cheap activities I.e the castle and ancient ruins walk etc. Coral Beach was nice, kids had a blast jumping over waves all day. The rooms were nice and spacious.
Cons: A cleaner tried to steal our inflatables on multiple occasions. They were inbetween our sunbeds (so not in anyone’s way) and we were swimming next to them? Had to tell her to stop? This was odd.
Cleaners came into our room on day one. We had arrived late so slept promptly and only been there a few hours. Our kids were in the living room and got spooked! This was possibly our fault for not putting the sign on the door (albeit a few hours between arriving) - But the thing that bothered us most is that after leaving our room noticing the kids they just left the door wide open? We were asleep in the bedroom so had no idea! We had to sleep with our daughter in our room on a mattress for the remainder of the holiday as she was too worried to sleep in the other area.
3 of our family are coeliac (gluten free / auto immune disease). We had emailed in advance regarding this. Our first meal they showed us which buffet items were gluten free, so we tried this (against our better judgement for contamination) and our son got very ill for a full day / vomiting and was out of action. Following this we were told to speak to chef and tell them what we wanted and they would prepare it separately. This became an issue after 1 day as it took them too long to prepare the meals and the chef wasn’t happy (nearly an hour in one instance). Then they gave us a form to complete with our weeks meals. They specifically told us “put down whatever you want no matter what, and we will prepare it for you, absolutely anything”. This seemed great, but of course very quickly they began refusing to make what we had asked for and telling us they can’t do certain things - which left our kids and my partner hungry and frustrated most days. Even though we used the form, we still had to tell them again whenever we arrived. It would’ve been better to set times that we would eat at as we’ve done elsewhere possibly.. The restaurant manager was polite and definitely tried his best but we had issues with the food almost every day unfortunately. This is not to say that the food didn’t have good options for non coeliacs, but unfortunately we had non stop issues. On the last night I specifically asked in the morning whether they could definitely make our meals in the evening as we wanted a nice final day / no issues and was told it would be no problem.. Of course, come dinner time, once again chef Nelly refused to/ could not make what we wanted and my partner ended up with 2 sticks of dry meat for dinner with nothing else and kids left disappointed once again and got put on the spot to pick something simpler / frozen pizza etc. why not review our choices earlier and say it wasn’t possible instead of leaving it until each meal? I think they wanted to use the same food as they had prepared for others but prepared separately rather than making unique dishes. Also after ordering pasta one day (to be prepared separately) they then proceeded to bring the pasta sauce from the buffet in a dish / which is what made my son ill in the first place. Had to tell them it was contaminated and defeated the object of ordering separate meals to do this.
Drinks were weak / normal all inclusive routine.
Snacks were very limited especially for coeliacs (none really due to cross contamination), though maybe we’ve been spoiled elsewhere here - but I didn’t really feel inclined to eat from the his often.
The entertainment section was a bit cramped, kids mostly had to be on stage as no dance floor area and to get a drink you had to walk all the way around as the e tables and chairs were so close together of an evening.
All the games like pool and ice hockey were chargeable, didn’t see anything free for the kids like table tennis in other resorts - so make sure to take some extra change/money for these activities.
As noted by others, pool was way too hot. We went during a heatwave so it was heat on heat but zero shade in the pool. It was lovely to cool down in the indoor spa pool but who wants to be inside? Maybe a little shade or a few bridges would be a good idea? Otherwise be prepared for a hot bath all day everyday…
I didn’t find the staff especially friendly personally. Some were definitely better than others though but I found quite a few were a bit standoffish / mainly servers at meal times.
We booked a taxi into town and it took over 40 minutes to arrive. Appreciate this wasn’t the hotels fault, but it was frustrating. Our second trip was much faster. We did try “bolt” but not a single taxi would accept our trips. The taxi service they use (Mikes) generally automatically charge you a return fee, so you have to look after the receipt and make sure you’re able to call them to book your return which, in some places, can be hard to negotiate with them on the phone. Make sure you have a roaming deal or specifically tell them to do one way.. It’s fairly easy to get taxis from the harbour for example so much easier than trying to contact them to get your return sorted….
The blue lagoon was a bit of a let down. Felt it was WAY too overbooked with people, and felt they just dropped us in the sea to swim a bit (the area didn’t seem special or blow me away at all).. and the whole time the boat was unstable so you feel as though you’re trying to escape getting squashed by it! Again, not an issue of the hotel but something for folks to consider as this is a popular activity to book there.
We wanted to do Adonis falls but we couldn’t get anyone to take us (taxis can’t get there as it’s off road and it’s a 40 min++ walk from where they could drop you off).. That was disappointing. Maybe look around the harbour or book in advance online if you want to do this.
All in all it was fine. We had our issues but we drank, ate (eventually), slept fairly well and the surrounding area was lovely.
We had an Amazing holiday and agree with all the positive comments in previous reviews There are 3 small things we would change Pool is great but too hot we go in the pool to cool off but it is like a bath, the indoor pool is the right temperature for us but you don't really want to be indoors on holiday We were there for 2 weeks the food menu and entertainment although brilliant is the same for 2 weeks it would be better if they had a 2week programme so not to repeat Lastly entertainment finishes at 11 bar shuts at 12 as everything stops at 11 it feels a bit abrupt it would ve good if they played background music between 11 an 12 As I said at the beginning we had an amazing time and loved our holiday but theese are just 3 small things that they could improve on
