Just had a 17 day stay here at windmills and had a great time at this family run place where we was always made to feel welcome by Eleni and her family. we arrived late and was checked in quickly and easily our room which was 240 was nice clean and spacious had everything I needed Kettle, toaster etc and the air con worked great. The bar area has good acts 2 every night and a good selection of drinks and cocktails made with good measures I drink whiskey and they were nice and strong how I like it. The bar staff work very hard to get your drinks fast and clean the tables. The pool area is nice and quiet with no sunbed wars you can always get one. It’s just a short walk from 2 lovely beaches. Their restaurant does very nice good size portions of freshly cooked Cypriot food I definitely recommend the mix grill, jumbo pork chop and the kleftico all at a reasonable price overall a very good place to stay in the Protaras area and I would definitely stay again thanks
Where do I begin, firstly the pros - near a lovely beach, food was average - if you have full board you get the poormans menu - friendly staff and manger. We should’ve expected not much due to the fact of the rating as well as the price, however the room we stayed in was absolutely dreadful the window next to the front door to the apartment had been broken, the apartment was horrific - the sofa had stains all over it, the lights did not work they also made you feel like you were in a hospital, the bedroom felt like a prison, the plug sockets were no where near the beds, the window faced a building site and looking down was a pile of wires or tubes. NO AIRCON every night we could not sleep until like 4am. In the description it stated near a “town” yet it felt like we were in the middle of no where. In the pictures they make the rooms seem very lovely - I hope they are now as it’s been awhile - however they are absolutely vile. we were always going to write a review but never got down to it. Unfortunately we will never be returning ever again we still talk to this day about how we cannot go anywhere with green curtains because of the trauma 😂 - the restaurant of the hotel looked out onto a boring street - (the furniture felt like we were back in the 1970s, the sliding door to the balcony was broken). The only thing that was good about the hotel was when we left. We wanted to go to a nice bar so walked down the street to one to find it abandoned. - the reason we are adding the review now rather then last year is because we are terrified that we are going to spend all this money on a “nice hotel” and end up in something that feels like a 1970s derelict squat.
Room I got was disgusting , unclean and poor finish
Fantastic holiday at windmills, perfect location, rooms recently decorated, large balcony and cleaners in every day. Traveled a family of 4 and requested a room next to each other which was accommodated. Eleni and her family who run the hotel couldn’t have done enough for us. Always free sunbeds at the pool. Bar and restaurant food/drink were amazing especially Stifado best in the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone and we will be back. Jan, Iain and girls.
We stayed at windmills for two weeks from July 10 2026 my experience of the place is that it is a good place to spend a holiday we had read the reviews and were extremely apprehensive about our stay but all this changed when we arrived .Check in was easy enough we were met by Angelina who was very friendly and helpful she explained how things worked and escorted us to our room.the room itself looked like it had been recently renovated it was room 236 upper floor plenty of space nice big balcony two beds modern bathroom small kitchen area kettle toaster small one ring hob. Cleaners came everyday except Sunday beds changed r times im e weeks clean towels everyday .nothing was too much trouble for the staff.Food in both resterant and bar was suburb and reasonably priced.Bar staff need to learn a littlest English se were hard to understand Now the negatives music is very loud so you can't hold a conversation and the door runners in the bar stick up and are dangerous people are tripping over them me being one of them and nor even drunk 2 The pool was fab nice and peaceful my husband and I was often the only people there until about 11am no sunbed rush or towels out at dawn Would I return hell yes in a heartbeat fab holiday nice and relaxing Places to go Panis bar the ranch house of litho the lounge phoenix hopefully will return next year
