Fantastic holiday at windmills, perfect location, rooms recently decorated, large balcony and cleaners in every day. Traveled a family of 4 and requested a room next to each other which was accommodated. Eleni and her family who run the hotel couldn’t have done enough for us. Always free sunbeds at the pool. Bar and restaurant food/drink were amazing especially Stifado best in the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone and we will be back. Jan, Iain and girls.
We stayed at windmills for two weeks from July 10 2026 my experience of the place is that it is a good place to spend a holiday we had read the reviews and were extremely apprehensive about our stay but all this changed when we arrived .Check in was easy enough we were met by Angelina who was very friendly and helpful she explained how things worked and escorted us to our room.the room itself looked like it had been recently renovated it was room 236 upper floor plenty of space nice big balcony two beds modern bathroom small kitchen area kettle toaster small one ring hob. Cleaners came everyday except Sunday beds changed r times im e weeks clean towels everyday .nothing was too much trouble for the staff.Food in both resterant and bar was suburb and reasonably priced.Bar staff need to learn a littlest English se were hard to understand Now the negatives music is very loud so you can't hold a conversation and the door runners in the bar stick up and are dangerous people are tripping over them me being one of them and nor even drunk 2 The pool was fab nice and peaceful my husband and I was often the only people there until about 11am no sunbed rush or towels out at dawn Would I return hell yes in a heartbeat fab holiday nice and relaxing Places to go Panis bar the ranch house of litho the lounge phoenix hopefully will return next year
We (3 brothers) stayed at Windmills Hotel Apartments in July 2026 and had an amazing time. The staff were really friendly, the food from the restaurants was always amazing, and it was a great location to move freely between Protaras and Ayia Napa. We especially enjoyed all the cocktails and food from their Windmills pub, restaurant, ice cream parlour, and the O Seftalis restaurant next door (the best gyro in Cyprus - seriously).
The pool is cleaned daily and the rooms are maintained regularly. The rooms are very clean and modern (we stayed in the Jet2 rooms). There's a lockbox in reception for your valuables and a safe place to store your suitcase near reception if you're waiting for a coach transfer. The reception will also call you a taxi if you can't find any available taxis on Bolt or Uber. There's also a play area for kids and reception toilets.
The hotel is surrounded by gift shops, other pubs and restaurants, and is very close to Pernera beach and other beaches along the coast. It's a great location for Protaras.
Eleni (hotel manager) was always kind and helpful and made the experience even better. Tahir and Azis in the restaurant always greeted you with a smile and upheld all expectations.
You have to pay for air conditioning (€10 a night) but we didn't need it because it was always quite breezy in Pernera - €10 is reasonable though. It can be quite loud outside after midnight but that's because we stayed while the World Cup was on.
Location great, short walk to beach and boardwalk that runs past protaras. Great bus services that run to protaras and ayia napa. Plenty of bars/restaurants and cafes. Room was clean and decor was modern. Aircon available *payable at reception. Maid service everyday. Food was delicious at Windmills Restaurant. Staff go above and beyond, very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of sun loungers around poolside. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, thank you.
Arrived at midnight and checked in quickly. Room 241. You can tell its been upgraded recently. Clean, new curtains and decor. Huge balcony overlooking the beautiful little on site church. Lovely shower room with white towels. We didn't have air-conditioning so we decided to open a window and pay €10 per day from the next day. Further charge for safe but its not in your room so we didn't bother think it was €5 per day for a small deposit box. It's very central in Pernera and we popped out for a quick look around. Good location. Beds comfy we slept well even though it was hot without aircon! Next morning I decided to put my clothes away before breakfast. There's just enough space for 2 people not a lot of coat hangers. Maybe bring a couple. Drawers at the side of the beds, drawers in the wardrobe, vanity area with a drawer. Shelf at the top of the wardrobe where the thick blankets are so as we need the space I moved them to the floor near the vanity. I turned to hang my travel clothes first and as I stood in front of the wardrobe with my back to the beds I felt something move around my slippered foot and looked down as a gigantic spider ran across my toes! I jumped back and screamed woke my daughter and probably half the complex. My nemesis! It huddled in the corner on the floor. Daughter bravely got a glass and tried to catch it but it was too quick and it ran under my bed. We tried to find it but couldn't. I ran to reception told them and within 5mins a chap turned up with a hand towel and found it under my daughters bedside cabinet. He removed it told us to keep windows and doors shut! There is a decent gap under the main door so I regularly sprayed it just in case. Air con purchased and always had something on my feet after that! Even when sleeping! Anyhoo, pool nice and was warm. Staff lovely in restaurant and reception. Lads in the bar were a bit pushy if we were only having drinks, wanted the tables for others as there were only 2 of us so we only went to the bar a couple of times. Keo beer is fab. Cocktails were good. Check out was easy there's a space for bags and we got changed in the toilets, no shower room though. I'd recommend Windmills for cheap and cheerful but we went out during the day only used the room for shower, sleeping and changing for evening.
