This lovely hotel is in Protaras, right on one of the best beaches on the island of Cyprus, right on the Protaras board walk, and just 3-4 minutes walk from the Protaras main strip. This accommodation offers a total of 141 bedrooms and suites. The hotel has 3 bars and 3 restaurants, and its own Health club and beauty centre, with an indoor pool and a Gym. Pets are not allowed at this establishment. Vrissaki Beach Hotel follows environmentally sustainable practices.
Rooms are nice just want you need for a holiday a basic room balcony and bathroom as you spend most the time in the sun. They could have made it more clear on rules for bed sheets and towels to be changed. Definitely ask when you arrive on what to do or none will be changed. I paid for a partial sea view room which honestly was not worth it, my booking agent was extra £400 but speaking to others there they got sea view or better partial sea view rooms they actually saw the sea with no extra cost. They do have English plug sockets in the room which was handy. There is a free safe in the room and complimentary hotel slippers. Mini fridge to use. Cleaners work really hard throughout the day cleaning glass on balcony to the rooms. There are signs about waste and environment but use throw away plastic cups and plastic straws which is disappointing. You can refill water bottles at the pool bar there is a hose one or one the other side which is more hygienic as doesn’t touch bottle top. Definitely recommend bringing your own reusable water bottles. You can refill this at the pool bar from 10am and up till 1am at the lobby bar for free. Food was fine mix of things for everyone at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The standard hotel buffet. Chefs work hard continuously for breakfast, snack times and dinner. The snack times are good and generous wraps, pizza or pasta. The staff running food, preparing tables and behind the bar are excellent so polite so hard working they really made the holiday. They work long shifts and remain working hard with a smile. The management speak to them poorly in front of guests which was uncomfortable. Sunrise walks are lovely footpath along the beach here, however a lot are awake at 5am running out pool towels to save beds. When booking was reassuring that this was not allowed but I guess hard to oversee for staff to manage guests behaviour. Overall good all round hotel.
Currently staying at this hotel and leaving tomorrow morning, We booked all inclusive through Jet2 holidays. But be aware all inclusive here does NOT mean all inclusive there are still things you have to pay for ie: bottled water, But you can refill your empty water bottles you previously purchased at the pool bar for 3 euros a bottle may using a hose pipe attached to the pool bar once it opens at 10.00am which everyone seems to use placing their actual bottle openings on to this hose pipe which surely passes one people saliva to another and so on, not very sterile practice? fresh orange juice after a certain time of the day is not included in your all inclusive. Bedding has not been changed the whole week we have been here. So therefore the cleaning of the room has not been what you would expect from such an establishment, sand had been left on the corridor carpet leading you our apartment for 3 days before finally being vacuumed up. Pool safety is not adhered to either rules state no diver, no lilos well those rules were not enforced. Life guard or guards multi task from collecting ice from the kitchen to collecting empty plastic drinks cups. And never just focusing on pool safety. There are other things we could mention about the so called all inclusive side of this hotel but we feel this review is way too long already.
The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and in a great location, with easy access to the beach and the promenade. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment.
We booked an all-inclusive stay, but the lunch and dinner were not very good. The food was bland, lacked flavour, and it often felt like the same food was being served for lunch and then again for dinner, sometimes reheated. The breakfast and snack time were good, but because of the quality of the lunch and dinner, we ended up eating out every single day. When you pay a significant amount for an all-inclusive holiday, having to pay for dinner outside the hotel every day is far from ideal.
Another issue was the power banks available in the lobby and by the pool. In my experience, these were essentially a scam. About a week after returning home, I was charged money from my card, and despite trying to contact the company responsible for the power banks, I have had no response. I find it very strange and disappointing that a hotel of this standard allows such an unreliable company to operate on its premises.
That said, I want to give special recognition to George at the reception bar. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and service-minded throughout our stay. Five stars to him! Some of the staff serving breakfast and lunch were also excellent.
Overall, the hotel itself is lovely and has a great location, but unfortunately, the food really let the experience down. I would not return unless the food improves. When paying this much for an all-inclusive holiday, having to eat dinner elsewhere every day is simply not acceptable.
We’ve just got back from a 7 night all inclusive stay in this wonderful hotel and we can’t recommend it enough. From start to finish everything was perfect. We checked in to the hotel very late in the evening (maybe 12:30am or later) and we were greeted by Stavros on reception. He was really welcoming and friendly. We had booked a package holiday with Jet2 and had a double room with inland view booked but he informed us that we had been upgraded to a side Seaview room for free which was a really nice surprise! We were then given a bag which contained sandwiches and a couple of apples, which we thought was a really nice gesture. The bar manager also asked us if we wanted a drink even though the bar was closed. This was a great start to the holiday.
The location of this hotel is perfect as it is right on the beachfront and just a 5 minute walk to the strip and nearby shops.
We were all inclusive and were really impressed with the food and drink options. There was always plenty of choice for food. Probably the best food I’ve had in a 4 star hotel actually. It was nice to eat breakfast out in the bikini bar overlooking the sea and then lunch was a buffet as well but served in the main restaurant in the hotel. We ate out in the evening but had breakfast and lunch every day in the hotel. There were 3 options for à la carte but we only had time to try the Italian à la carte at the hotel. The other options included the bikini beach bar where there was a set menu for an evening meal and you could also go to a sister hotel nearby for a meal (I can’t remember the name of this hotel, sorry). The Italian à la carte was really nice and definitely worth a visit. There were lots of options for drinks. There was a good choice of cocktails on the menu that were included in the all-inclusive as well. I particularly enjoyed the piña colada’s, Tom Collins and cosmopolitan to name a few!! The iced coffees were really nice as well!
The hotel was really nicely furnished and clean. The bedrooms were nice, perhaps a little small but that didn’t bother us. The balcony was a good size and the safe in the room was free. There was housekeeping available every day if you wanted it.
The pool was a nice size and there were plenty of sunbeds. The best ones were the ones by the pool, facing the hotel. These went by 7:30am but there were plenty of other beds available and no sunbed wars like you witness at some hotels! The pool towels were also free. You get given a pool card and are allowed to change your towel every 2 days if you wish.
One thing we were so impressed by was how nice the staff were. They couldn’t do enough for you. Always really friendly, smiley and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.
On the last day we checked out of our room at 12pm but our flight wasn’t till a lot later. We were able to keep our luggage in a secure room and we used the shower facilities in the spa after we had finished sunbathing. We did ask if it was possible to keep our room but it was going to cost €70 so we didn’t bother. It’s also important to mention that we were able to use the all-inclusive benefits until we left the hotel and checked out. I’ve since learnt that some other hotels don’t let you do this and once you have checked out of your room, you have to pay for everything until you leave.
Anyone looking for a hotel in the Protaras area I would 100% recommend this hotel. I think me and my partner will return in a couple of years.
Thank you to all the staff at the Vrissaki hotel for making our holiday so enjoyable!
