Sunrise Pearl Hotel and Spa

Currently at the Pearl with my husband on our 7th visit and it still doesn’t disappoint. We’ve previously stayed in villas, the Golden Coast, Constantinos The Great, and Sunrise Beach (next door), but since our first stay here in 2017 we haven’t really looked back. We’ve tried the adults only Sunrise Jade a couple of times, which is great for us as a childless couple, but unfortunately the location lets it down. In comparison, the Pearl is in a prime position right on the strip, very close to all our favourite bars and restaurants.

We normally book a sea view room but as we decided to go just 5 days beforehand, our only option was a limited sea view. I wondered if we would be at the side of the hotel but on our arrival we were pleased to find we’d been allocated room 212, which is still at the back of the hotel. Half of the sea view is blocked by part of the building, but considering how late we left it to book this year, we are very pleased with it. In fact, I’m sure they used to try to pass off the rooms in this part of the hotel as sea view, but perhaps got too many complaints and had to rethink the description, hence now adding ‘limited’. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival and the walk in shower was a nice surprise, as I’m sure all the rooms we’ve had in the past have been showers over baths. Also really handy to still have the bottled water replenished daily.

We always stay half board so we can use it to have lunch in Mistral rather than for dinner, as we like to venture out in the evenings for food & drinks. We don’t tend to have breakfast, so don’t really get our money’s worth, but it works for us. My husband eats meat but I’m vegan, so it’s hard to find places that suit us both wherever we go in the world, but Mistral gives each of us a few good options. Yes, it is annoying when kids are splashing about in the adjacent pool areas when you’re eating, but we stick to the adults only pool for the rest of the time. We have always loved the system of choosing your sun beds on arrival and keeping them throughout your stay (towels provided), or moving somewhere else as people leave and others become available. The QR codes on the tables to order drinks and have them brought over to you is also a great idea.

We’ve done the Caribbean a few times and I’d really like to try Paphos and Cancun in the next year or two, but I doubt we will ever be able to resist the familiar pull of the Pearl for too long. We’ve never encountered any unfriendly or unhelpful members of staff, so for us it’s such a winning combination of factors and always a safe bet. For as long as it doesn’t change, it will always be our second home.

We have visited this hotel since 2013 and yet again it did not disappoint. Another 5 star stay with wonderful rooms, food & service! We simply could not fault anything about our stay & as usual we cannot wait to return. The hotel is in a fabulous location and continues to maintain its very high standards in all areas - best hotel in Protatas by far!
