This beach hotel is peacefully situated in Pernera, at a small area on the outskirts of Protaras which has developed into a mini resort in itself. A variety of facilities are immediately available in Pernera including restaurants, bars and fun parks from just 5 minutes' walk away from the hotel. The resort centre of Protaras itself is just a short distance away, approximately a 30-minute stroll from the hotel. This establishment commands a great position overlooking its own private golden beach, with its beautiful gardens and specially designed landscaped pool. A family-run hotel, it has grown from a traditional seafood taverna to a large, comfortable hotel featuring a variety of different amenities. Younger guests are sure to enjoy the playground and kids' club. Guests may dine in the café or restaurant and sip their favourite drink in the bar.
I thought long and hard about whether to award a 4 or 5 to this hotel after our 10 day holiday. The food in the buffet restaurant was below a 5 star standard, in fact we eat out several times because of it, which is a little disappointing when you have spent so much on staying at an all inclusive hotel. That said, in every other area the hotel was exceptional, thus a 5 star review. The staff were plentiful, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. From arriving after 12am in the morning and the reception team being so informative and welcoming to the entertainment team who were amazing, a good mix of fun but not over bearing. The bedrooms were modern, very clean , great air conditioning and ticked all the boxes of what you would want in a hotel room. In fact the hotel was impeccably clean . I've been to several all inclusive hotels where they do waiter only service for drinks, in what seems like a way of limiting how many drinks you have. This can not be said for this hotel. Speed of service was amazing, and there was always several bar staff at all times. The gym was small but well equipped with very modern equipment. My wife used the spa for both a massage and a pedicure, very positive about both. The sun beds were plentiful, in great condition and very comfortable. A couple of the umbrellas had seen better days, but I saw some being replaced as the holiday went on. As part of the holiday you get to use the two " specialist" restaurants once each. They were exceptional. One an asian fusion restaurant and the other one an al a carte - great food , great service, great atmosphere. Breakfast ticked all the right boxes, plenty of options, tasty and again great service. So hopefully you can see why I gave it 5 stars. However as mentioned the buffet evening meal was not the best. It wasnt awful, but every night it was very, very similar and not at all exciting. If I had another very slight negative it was location. The grounds, the location to the beach ( sea was lovely and surprisingly warm) were spot on. However it's almost the last hotel on the " strip' - the excellent path that leads to and beyond Protaras. This meant it was quiet, and some parts of Protaras, especially this end are quite tired. Many closed and run down units on the walk into the centre ( about 2.5km walk) we chose the location as it was slightly out of the centre, but perhaps a little too far out. That all said, it deserves a 5 as the things it gets right, and that's the vast majority of the aspects which make a great holiday. I'd even go as far as to say, I've not been to a hotel which gets so much of it completely right. Just a shame about the evening food, but that made us go looking for other places to eat, and there are some exceptional restaurants around the hotel.
We returned to Pernera Beach Hotel as we, as a family of four, had such a great time last year. Our room was better than the one we had last year and the hotel have made some lovely changes, from updating the room decor/switches, to providing table service for drinks at lunch and dinner. The service was again excellent and one small issue we had with the AC was dealt with straight away. We will definitely return next year, thank you Pernera!
Fantastic 7 days all inclusive celebrating our friends wedding Lovely room with sea views Had 2 massages at the spa both by Sherri she was fantastic always asking if everything was okay We are returning again next week for another wedding and I’ll definitely be returning to the spa
Just want to make people aware if your going with children dont expect them to be able to play in the family pool. Lifeguard told numerous children off for playing ball as it could splash people. Ok to splash when adults doing water activities!! There is a dedidicated pool for delicate souls who might be offended by children playing.
We stayed here for 2 weeks with friends & family . This is a lovely, friendly & clean hotel. The food menu was varied and there were also limited vegan options but you have to ask for these specifically. I don’t usually leave reviews but I wanted to give a special mention to the bar waiter kirolos who genuinely couldn’t do enough to look after our large group. He worked so hard keeping us topped up with drinks and clearing away empties- always friendly and polite. We also had 2 excellent massages from sheri & Hadier.
