Marlita Beach Hotel and Apartments

We are currently staying at the Marlita, day 3 of our week long holiday, and well.. its something! It had positives and it has HEAVY negatives.. so lets dive in! Positives: The pool area is lovely, big pool and childrens pool with water feature! The bars is in close distance to the pool area and offer a great all inc variety (plenty of alcohol in cocktails) snack bar has lots of choice! Restaurant is limited its quite small but everyones always found something they like! The costa coffee on site is a lovely touch (not included in all inc)

Negatives: The rooms are VERY dated, and dirty, the maids simply cannot be bothered and spend most of there time in a spare room used for storage smoking and on there phones (yes they glare at you when you walk past) the floors leave your feet absolutely black after you’ve had a shower so wear your flipflops around your apartment! The bedding is clean but heavily stained the duvet inside the case had shoe prints on it and the pillow left on our bed on the night we arrived was used, had hair creases and smelt of aftershave we went to reception to get a new one no one to be seen (granted it was 2am but its 24hr) THE STAFF! I have honestly never met more miserable staff in my life! From getting a drink to asking for a babys highchair its like trying to ask for blood they look absolutely morbidly miserable! The woman on reception is by far one of the worst 🫣 THE BEDS; are HARD very very uncomfortable and some are broken, my sons bed had nails sticking out the bottom little toes could easily of stood on. The Resturant: as mentioned its very small and selection is also very small, only 4 babies highchairs available to be used for the whole hotel! The MUSIC choice around the pool.. is.. something.. loud explicit music while children are playing in the pool 🫣 Plug Sockets: All plugs are 3 pin (british plugs) which is fab.. except for the TV the tv is a 2 pin plug, when we asked reception they told us we would need to pay €5 to borrow a converter for a tv they provided.. we agreed so the children could watch tv (theres no british channels) so overall that was a waste of time.

So overall.. its something if you dont plan to spend much time here its fine, and if the rooms don’t get you down.. the staff sure as hell will

Just got back from marlita I had a great time the location was great my view was amazing the food was ok breakfast was the best one but what made the hoilday was Gabriella what a credit she is to that hotel would help with anything always polite and friendly aka Marisa lol

There is nothing fresh & cozy about this hotel as described. We arrived late on the Saturday night. We were greeted by nice staff on reception. We were escorted to B block and as soon as we entered this building I could see how tired and run down it was with broken ceiling tiles & wires from the ceiling and lights not working in the corridors. A previous review described it as cell block B and this is very fitting. The room was very dated and absolutely filthy. It smelt of urine. It has not been cleaned and nor has the bedding been changed. A member of reception attended our room and agreed that that it was dirty and assured us with another room in E block. The room in E block was also very old fashioned but it was a bit cleaner. The kids were on a sofa bed in the living room but for two 12 year old girls this was too small. I did not sleep all night as the bed was rock hard the bath was also full of rust with a dirty shower curtain. We contacted easyJet and the hotel and we were upgraded to a suite. The suite was much bigger and modern but there are still areas for improvement. The blinds were covered in damp, holes in the bedroom curtains, bathroom had not been cleaned and cockroaches in our room two mornings in a row. Staff were informed and we were told that they would come and spray the rooms and send a cleaner . Nobody attended our room that day. We had to sit by the pool until 7pm for towels as the cleaner had not been to replenish them or clean. The hotel does not have a linen room with towels or bedding and I had to wait for these to be brought from outside the hotel.

The buffet restaurant is small and hot Food was barely warm and the cold food was too warm. There was no air conditioning in there until our last day which made it very uncomfortable. We were all inclusive but due to the lack of cleanliness and concerns around food hygiene (temps) we ate out every evening.

The grounds and location are amazing. Lovely boardwalk into Protaras. Pool on the Anastasia side is cleaner. Lots of broken glass which appears to have been there a while in the Marlita pool.

The staff in reception especially Claudia were fantastic and helpful. The one cleaner we did see was a British lady called Maria. She was lovely. Some staff at the snack bar and lobby bar can come across as rude and sometimes we were left standing and made to feel like an inconvenience whilst the talked amongst themselves, sat on the their phones or smoking. The famous Slavi will be friendly and show interest to get you to write a good review about him. The hotel has potential but it needs money investing in it, a serious clean and staff that actually care.
