Maris Grand Waterpark Resort

My wife and I stayed here for one week from the 7th of October, along with her sister and husband. We had different rooms of course and ours was room 5 on the ground floor. Our room was pool facing, with a decent sized balcony, which even in October was too hot after 8am! The room itself was well equipped, with a kettle, hair dryer, TV, UK style mains sockets incorporating USB chargers, the softest bed I've ever experienced, a powerful walk in shower and free air-con, even the hotel wi-fi was free and very fast. The food was the best AI buffet I've ever had. Always a good choice, so many in fact I couldn't possibly include them all here! Drinks were as expected, although branded spirits like Smirnoff and Bacardi amongst others were also included in the all inclusive package. Entertainment was good, with a few specialty acts plus those usually found down the main strip. Location was about 500 metres from the main strip, directly opposite Nicks Bottle Shop, where you could get all sorts of alcoholic and tobacco bargains. The staff are amazing, from the reception to the cleaners they all made our experience so much more enjoyable. 1 negative!!! The Italian restaurant which was available for everyone free for one visit was very disappointing. All 4 of us were ill after! I've never seen a Lasagna the size of a pillow lacking in pasta and served cold! Would I return, absolutely yes. Despite the 1 negative I would highly recommend the Maris Grand to everyone, and ignore the previous negative comment from someone who might have got his hotels mixed up!

I am writing this honest review as it is evident many are fake reviews, which gives the overall rating higher than we feel it should! Pros: Hotel and rooms very clean. Our cleaner was friendly and efficient — excellent service. Pool area small but lovely, water slides were great fun for our child. Cons: Food overall 4/10 — mostly frozen ingredients, not tasty. Breakfast 5/10 (pancakes good, sausages/bacon very disappointing). Lunch & dinner only 2/10 — bland and uninspiring. Lifeguards seemed more interested in chatting/smoking/dancing and each other than watching the pool. Staff hit and miss — some friendly, others barely spoke. Only management seemed attentive. All-inclusive but many drinks cost extra. Italian restaurant much better but only allowed once a week. The entertainment isn’t the best- however, there is something on every night so can’t complain too much about this and we went out most evenings (lots to do around the local area) Summary: Clean hotel, lovely pool and fun slides. Just don't come for the food. It’s a real shame as the food would put us off coming again!

Stayed at Maris Grand Waterpark Resort under the new management team, and while everyone is clearly trying hard, the hotel still falls short of the standard advertised.

The staff are friendly and genuinely doing their best, but they seem exhausted and overstretched, especially when the hotel is full. This has a noticeable impact on service quality.

The hotel becomes extremely busy and noisy, and it’s difficult to relax in any of the main areas. Food was often cold, even at peak meal times, and the overall dining experience didn’t match what I’d expect from a hotel rated over 4 stars.

I appreciate the effort from the team and the improvements they’re aiming for, but based on my stay, the hotel isn’t yet operating at the level the manager believes it is. With better staffing levels, food temperature control, and crowd management, it could get there — but it’s not there today.

A lot of potential, but currently not meeting the standard advertised.
