Excellent stay at Amorgos hotel. Located in Larnaca city center, room was really spacious, clean and breakfast exceeded my expectations Elena and her team were really hospitable and helpful. I was a solo traveler but I find this hotel suitable for any kind of travelers
Small comfortable hotel behind the seafront. Room was clean, bed comfortable, the room needs a bit of refurbing, tired in places but didn't affect our stay. Breakfast was tasty, restaurant was clean and bright, andria and elsa in the restaurant were lovely, very helpful and friendly as was the lovely lady on reception. Views from the hotel are not the best because of it's location but there is nothing the hotel can do about that, but very convenient for the seafront and shops. Would stay again because of the helpful and friendly staff and location, the hotel has just been taken over by mercure Hotels, and we were told there are plans for a refurbishment of the rooms 😁
4 of us tried Larnaca for a winter break late December 24 early January 25 taking in the New Year. Firstly Cyprus is not the ideal winter break holiday destination. Temperature 16-18° for 5 days and under 10° for the other 5. Chilly after 4pm. Lots of retail & food outlets were closed. There were still enough places open though. My ever expanding waistline is testament to that. We stayed at Amorgos Boutique hotel. It was an ok 3 star hotel but very tired. It has a great location close to the promenade. However it had literally just changed owners who plan refurbishments and this was evident as the breakfast /dining area was completely changed when we were there and made a big difference straight away. The new owner was extremely nice and made our stay enjoyable so l expect this hotel will be a great choice when refurbished.
We found the go to pub that fulfilled all our needs. "The Meeting Pub". Situated on the promenade it provided drink, food, a pool table and multiple TVs for the sports enthusiasts. Staff were amazing and looked after us. Especially my wife who poorly. They provided plenty of hot lemon drinks with a medicinal shot of rum. I recommend the chicken broth soup. A nice restaurant is Militiz, at Piale Pasa 42, Larnaca. The lamb kleftico was melt in the mouth heaven. Highly recommended.
Larnaca is 15 mins from the airport and in the summer l can imagine this will be a vibrant resort. It has a nice beach, with lots of activities, that stretches a fair distance and a good promenade for those long healthy walks. Anyway, back to the pub! 6 out of 10 as a winter getaway destination.
I had a lovely week at Hotel Amorgos! My room was quite OK, but it faced the 'back/shadowy side' with an hour of sun around 4pm. A big plus that there were bathrobes and slippers for the cool mornings. :) The breakfast was super good with a large selection of everything you could want at a morning meal. The staff at the hotel were very service-minded, from the staff in the breakfast room, those who cleaned the rooms and the reception staff. Lovely outdoor area in front of the hotel. The location is absolutely fantastic, I think. Close to the beach (if you want a beach), the nice promenade AND city life and shops.
The only reason I haven't given Hotel Amorgos yhe highest rate is that on booking.com it was 'advertised' that there is a restaurant and a bar/cocktail bar. I arrived at 9 in the evening and wanted a glass of wine, but was told that they don't have a bar or restaurant and they do not servesell serve alcohol at Amorgos. Not a big problem, there are plenty of cafes and bars a few steps from the hotel, but that should be stated in the description on booking.com or wherever they advertise.
"Great location near sea shore ( few minutes walking ) and near to airport (12 mnts by Bolt ),wonderful breakfast, great staff ,i recommend it strongly.
