This hotel is beautiful, quite central with a beautiful sea view and conveniently next to a bus stop right outside which was super handy with a 3 year old. Bus cost €2 per person and children under 6 free, although walking to the beach/ harbour or central strip is doable in around 30mins and pram friendly, alternatively you can walk along the beach front to the harbour. The hotel will call you a taxi if you needed one. There's a shop underneath the hotel and opposite which sell everything you need. The hotel itself was bright, clean and fresh, the staff were always friendly and our room was cleaned daily. The all inclusive package met all of our needs and had different themes for dinner each day, there's definitely something for everyone, you'll not struggle, even as a picky eater! The highlight of our trip was the water park within the hotel, our daughter loved the slides, the water fountains and the lazy river and we never struggled to get a sunbed, even later in the day. When my daughter wasn't in the pool she was at the kids club and she had the best time! As a shy kid, the staff made her feel most welcome and she made a few friends. Plenty of toys and activities for the little ones. The overall atmosphere was brilliant at this hotel, very family friendly and great value for money, we really enjoyed the evening entertainment which was a kids mini disco followed by a show, this concluded most nights around 10pm which worked for us. The hotel corridors were a little noisy at times but I think that can be expected in every hotel. I read reviews of people slamming doors but in my experience, I don't think people are being inconsiderate of others, the room doors are quite heavy so naturally slam shut. The ONLY thing that the hotel could improve on is the quality of mattress in the rooms, it is so thin my sleep quality was very poor but apart from that, no complaints at all! Thank you for an amazing holiday.
Our third time in this hotel and we're Never coming back , they charge for everything even for towels , rooms are not clean at check in. we had a used bandage on the bed linen.
At check in they charged us for extra 500 euros for some meaningless misunderstanding with booking and it didnt help how much i tried to explain to them , literally ruined our vacation before it even started . Food was awful , half of the slides didnt even work Room towels are getting replaced every 3 days
Overall awful experience if i need to summerize
Pool area was nice and thats about it
Perfect ! It was Amazing experience
Very few positives regarding my experience at this hotel- firstly when you arrive late at night the "meal" they give you isn't even worth opening.
I did find the bar, restaurant and cleaning staff all to be pleasant and polite. However the reception staff are clearly just there for a wage and give no care or attention to their job. My son had developed a cold while staying at the hotel- I requested an extra pillow 10pm at night to prop him up and assist his breathing difficulties. This request i was denied and told to wait for the maids in the morning- so I went without a pillow myself for the night... On another occasion I had lost my phone by the pool ( I later found it in my bag) but whilst searching for it the lifeguard had suggested asking if it had been handed in at reception, fairly reasonable thing to do I would say. I was met with a screwed up face and a hard NO, almost as if I had said something completely out of order. Very strange behaviour... Also when leaving we had a later flight so asked to extend the room stay we were told we had to wait until 9:30 am on the last day to find out if we could check out at 6pm instead of noon (ended up waiting until 10am) This was at the cost of 60 euros but what I didn't understand is why we had to wait until the day of- this led to a large queue of people at reception in the morning with multiple being turned away.
The lobby in the hotel is rather uncomfortable as it isn't air conditioned- quite uncomfortable when returning back to your room. But yet the hotel bar one room over is perfectly comfortable and air conditioned.
The kids water park is a good feature although the slides aren't all open at the same time and the purple slide is clearly dangerous with an accident waiting to happen and I'm not convinced the lifeguards pay any attention to their jobs.
They should change the hotel package from "all inclusive" to "some included" if they want to be clear about what you can actually have.
Ice creams were 5 euro each at the pool bar- yet only 3 euros in the supermarket underneath the hotel?
This extra charge also goes for crisps, bottles of water and anything decent in terms of alcohol. The drinks package is poor, cheap cola, heavily diluted spirits and beer.
Oh and there is a herd of locals who come and join you by the pool for a day trip out with their kids- this happened the entire 7 days we stayed. this wasn't a major problem on the whole because the local kids were polite enough it just felt like you were an exhibit on a school trip- and also obviously not clearly outlined prior to arriving...
The children's arcade may as well not be there. It is entirely run down with games that are broken- bits hanging off, dirty and grimey play area and no staff member onsite or anywhere nearby.
Rooms are on the smaller side, this was highlighted even further as we had a travel cot in with us. Maid service was good, clean rooms everyday no real problems there, the lifts at the hotel are easily accessible and work as required (small detail I know but I'm trying to give you some positives) however room cards were temperamental and we had to replace ours twice- I will also point out I lost it once and had to pay 5 euro for another. My fault I know but like I previously stated- everything is at a charge.
Food was edible but no real variety. The kids more or less ate the same meal Everytime we did choose to dine in as there wasn't much variety for them to choose from.
Comically there was a candy floss stand out first night and guess what- extra charge 3 euros... So unless you were willing to pay you had the bare minimum - abit like the previously stated reception staff mentality.
Lastly the location... It's a good 45 minute walk to the strip and that did get tiring - we were paying anywhere between 15-25 euros for a taxi each way dependant on the time of day- taxis are readily available in the area though and decent enough- however some nights we chose to walk back to save on fairs and I'll tell you- the hotel is situated on a fairly steep hill - and the 45 minutes walk itself is certainly not flat - an absolute killer on your feet when you are in 28 degree heat at 11 pm
All in all the hotel portrays itself to be a 4 star luxury hotel , TUI rate it at 3 stars and I would rate it at 2. That's not out of any kind of grudge- just what I found my experience to be- nothing major just lots of little disappointments where I feel the hotel could go that extra bit further to give you what you're paying for.
The pictures will have you believing its a kids dream hotel because of the slides. But in reality it does what it says on the tin- it's a bed and some slides in the pool with not much else unless you're willing to pay. Would not return.
Honest review - family of 10. We had 3 apartments for our family of 10, we requested via email for these to be together and we got just that , all ground level with the waterpark view. The apartments were clean and spacious , good air con , mattresses very comfortable , towels changed daily. My only issue was the toilet - it needed a deep clean upon arrival as it had a odour of strong urine.
The ladies that cleaned the room do try their best , they do just walk in so leave a sign if you don’t want to be disturbed , twice our apartment door was left on the catch by them whilst we were out so not really happy about that.
The apartments are quieter than the hotel which worked well for us , however the eldest in our group is 80 years old - the walk from the apartment to pool / restaurant , gets very tiring , with steps , 1 large step , it is definitely not wheelchair accessible.
Reception did take us with our luggage on atribal and collected our luggage on check out , 10 cases this was very much appreciated .
The pool & waterpark are excellent , great for all ages , comfy sun loungers - the rule of no reserving beds before 9am unfortunately is not enforced but there are plenty, the waterpark sometimes closes earlier than stated - should be 5.30 but at 5ish the bar is closed and lifeguards ask you to get out the water.
The food - excellent , can’t fault the food , the staff work really hard cleaning plates , clearing tables etc , lots of choices and the ice cream tubs are the best. We had a cake made for a 40th Birthday that was €25 it was delicious & fresh, staff sang as they carried it out to the table, with the manager , thank you.
Reception - always pleasant, very responsive and work really hard.
The Spa- we had 3 separate treatments and all 3 ladies thoroughly enjoyed the treatments. Massive shout out to Tatiana , literally a miracle worker with her hands for the Deep Tissue Massage , probably the best massage I’ve ever had, I’d return just for a treatment with her.
Location - the hotel is right at the highest point of Ayia Napa , it is quite a steep hill , we spent a fortune on taxis - the website says closest beach 300m which it probably is - but it’s down hill - then you must walk up the steep bank, consisting of uneven steps.
Overall I’ve nothing negative to say about the hotel , the staff , like anywhere you get good and bad guests - some kids run riot - the lifeguards are not babysitters !!!!!!! But we had a lovely time, any request to reception they helped, can’t really fault it.
I’d love to return , probably the beginning / middle of June as the hotel by the end of June was visibly busier , we had the best time thank you Tofinis.
