Overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea and Sandy Bay, the family-run hotel Pavlo Napa Beach enjoys a prime location with direct access to a lovely Blue Flag beach. The lively centre of the popular holiday resort of Ayia Napa with its restaurants and bars is just a short stroll away; the Luna Park, the old monastery and the city museum are within walking distance. The renovated, family-friendly hotel offers comfortable rooms which are decorated in a contemporary style with modern furniture. The rooms enjoy side sea views and inland views. Guests will appreciate a wide variety of services and amenities, including complimentary WIFI connection in all public areas, an internet corner, business services, car, motorbike and bicycle rental as well as a doctor on call 24 hours. The restaurant serves tasty local cuisine. An ideal place for couples and families with children to spend a beach holiday.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We had a lovely stay at the Pavlo Napa Beach Hotel and would definitely recommend it.
The location was ideal for us. It’s right on the beach, which was one of the best things about the hotel. We loved being able to walk straight onto the beach, and there were showers by the pool to rinse the sand off your feet before heading back to your sunbed. The hotel is around a 15–20 minute walk to the start of the Ayia Napa strip and about 45–50 minutes to the main square with the bars and clubs, so it’s in a great spot if you want to be close enough to the nightlife without staying in the middle of it.
The pool area was excellent. There were always plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day, so there was no need to get up early to reserve one. The sunbeds were very comfortable with large cushioned mattresses, and we always felt safe leaving our belongings while we went for a swim. Beach towels were also available for a small refundable deposit, which was really convenient.
Our room was modern, clean and comfortable. The bed was huge, the air conditioning worked well (although we couldn’t seem to adjust the temperature, it wasn’t an issue for us), and the hairdryer was surprisingly powerful. There was also a drying rack on the balcony which was really useful for swimwear and towels. The free in-room safe was much appreciated, and it was handy having hotel information and menus available on the TV.
As part of our stay, we received a voucher for one free lunch in the à la carte restaurant, which was a lovely extra. We both had the burger and it was delicious.
The all-inclusive package was very good. There was a great selection of drinks, including Piña Coladas as part of the standard all-inclusive offering, with the option to upgrade to premium cocktails if you wanted. The food was one of the highlights of the holiday. Every meal offered plenty of choice, all of the meat was cooked really well, and there were different themed evenings which kept things interesting. We also appreciated the all-inclusive ice cream, especially during the hotter parts of the day.
The only slight confusion we had with the food was during the main lunch and dinner service. It appeared that there were additional items you could order while seated in the restaurant, but this wasn’t explained to us. We didn’t end up using it, so it wasn’t a major issue. The restaurant staff were excellent throughout our stay—very attentive and always happy to take drink orders during lunch and dinner. At breakfast, you simply helped yourself to juices and hot drinks.
The hotel itself was fairly quiet in the evenings, which suited us after busy days out. During our first couple of nights there wasn’t any entertainment, but later in the week there was a music quiz one evening and two different singers performing on two other nights.
There were a gym available, which appeared well equipped, and it’s worth knowing there’s an indoor pool too, although you need to request access to use it.
Our only slight negative was one of the reception staff, who wasn’t particularly welcoming on arrival and gave very little information about the hotel or its facilities. We asked about late check-out when we checked in and were told to come back the night before we left. However, when we did, she said we would need to speak to the manager the following morning instead, which was frustrating as it contradicted what we’d originally been told. It was even more disappointing as she had just arranged a late check-out for the couple in front of us and was much friendlier towards them. Late check-out until 4pm would have been €40, but we decided not to extend our room. Instead, we made use of the free changing rooms, showers and luggage storage in the conference room, which worked perfectly well so I recommend just doing this and saving the hassle and money.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The food was excellent, the room was modern and comfortable, the pool facilities were great, and the beachfront location was perfect while still being within walking distance of the strip. We’d happily stay here again and would definitely recommend the Pavlo Napa Beach Hotel to anyone visiting Ayia Napa.
An outstanding hotel in a beautiful location!
The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms were exceptionally clean on arrival, and were cleaned everyday to a high standard. There was complimentary shampoo, shower gel, shower caps and slippers. The shower was powerful. The beds were large and comfortable. The lights and air conditioning were all controlled by touchscreen panels. There were various options for lighting. The dressing table had a large well lit vanity mirror and powerful hairdryer. The wardrobe had interior lighting that turned on when the doors were opened. The balcony had two chairs, a table and washing airer.
The restaurant was clean and calm. The food was fresh and delicious with a different theme each night. The waiting staff were efficient and attentive without being pushy.
The pool area was clean, with plenty of extremely comfortable sunbeds, with tables and parasols. You could change your pool towel daily. The pool bar was exceptional. The staff were friendly and efficient, and there was an excellent choice of drinks available. There was plenty of shaded seating by the bar. The pool itself was clean and a good depth.
The bar inside the hotel was cool, calm and beautifully decorated.
The lift was small but worked quickly.
The hotel and pool toilets were exceptionally clean.
The beach was a very short stroll away. Sunbeds and parasols were available for a small charge. There were water sports available for reasonable prices. There were ramps/paths down to the edge of the sea making it accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. A box of buckets & spades etc. was available for children to borrow. The sand was soft and golden and the sea was clean and safe to swim in, with it being shallow for quite a distance before gently becoming deeper.
The hotel was situated about a 25-30 minute walk from the the main shops, restaurants and bars. There were plenty of shops and restaurants along the walk. Or you could use the BOLT app for a taxi there & back at a very reasonable price.
What was wrong with the hotel and location.....absolutely nothing!!!! We will definitely visit again!
Fabulous hotel in the perfect location right on the beach. Food is excellent plenty of choice and all of very good quality. The themed nights offer foods from all over the world. The Monday night carvery is superb! A big thank you to the staff who make this hotel, Timmi, Kostas and everyone else who make you most welcome to the hotel. Must be good as we've been going for 30 years 😃
Very disappointing experience overall!
Be aware that there is a major difference between the renovated and unrenovated (economy) rooms. We paid for the same room type through a travel agency, as the rest of our group, but ended up in an economy room with very poor sound insulation and much lower standards.
Cleanliness was also a serious issue in the economy rooms, especially the floors, which were visibly dirty even after changing rooms.
What made the experience much worse was the attitude of the staff. Several employees were dismissive, confrontational and focused on blaming the guest instead of resolving problems professionally. One receptionist became aggressive and shouted at me during a complaint about the room conditions.
Mistakes can happen, but the way guests are treated when issues are raised matters just as much.
Unfortunately, this really ruined the experience for us.
When our bus arrived, the reception was only staffed with one single non-enthusiastic guy. No "Welcome!", no smile just "Next please". One single person working the reception when a bus unloads new guests is not the most efficient check-in. The receptionist mapped out how to get to our room and why he insisted that the best way was through the underground maze and not going in a straight line above ground is beyond me. Throughout our entire stay I don't think that any staff in the reception bothered to say good morning or even hello. The most I got was a lovely smile at one time.
The room was clean. Really really clean. Like overwhelming smell of disinfection kind of clean. There was even a seal on the toilet that said "DISINFECTED" and that made me wonder what unspeakable horror had taken place in the bathroom. We opened the balcony door and ventilated for a while and got rid of the smell. The room was really nice. The only channel that worked on the tv was the hotels info channel but who watches tv on a vacation anyway? Could have used an iron and an ironingboard but other than that the room was really nice with a very nice balcony.
The pool area was excellent. The pool/towel guy seemed to really like his job.He was friendly and positive towards all the guests and he treated the entire poolarea as if it was his baby. I really liked the sunbeds and the possibility to choose shade or sun. I liked the pool too. Even I, who thinks every body of water is too cold, could get in the pool with ease even though it’s not heated. There's also a very very nice beach just below the pool. People talk about Nissi beach and how fantastic it is. I'll take the beach at the hotel any day of the week. No crowd, no beachbums just people enjoying themselves.
The pool bar is good as long as you stick with beer. Good beer, polite staff and absolutely undrinkable drinks. I tried the Gin fizz and I swear it tasted like kerosene. I simply could not drink it. We tried another the day after just to make sure that it wasn't a fluke but it was just as bad. This is by far the worst drinks I've ever had in any all inclusive-deal. Others tried them but I never saw anyone go back for seconds. It is also the first all inclusive-deal that I’ve ever come across that does not include a simple gin and tonic.
We tried the Erato bar. The drinks here were drinkable albeit not good. They were extremely sweet, maybe to cover up the taste of kerosene?
The dining room is nice and there’s a lovely terrace if you want to eat outside by the pool. Every drink (even juice) must be ordered from the staff. I recommend that you sit down and order drinks before going to get food. The guy who takes the drinks order is not the same guy who serves the drinks so they always mess up the drink orders. You can only order one drink per person at a time. If you want a refill, it'll take a while since you need to catch someones attention and they have to order the drink and another guy has to bring it to the table.
The food is, well, very all-inclusive. No beef, plenty of bone dry chicken, there is always something that does not go with anything else and the redwine sauce doubled as gravy and boeuf bourguignon. Surprisingly little to choose from. Every night was a different theme night. but the food didn’t really differ that much. The fries were always good though and one evening we got wonderful, tender and juicy chicken skewers but they never made it back to the menu.
You get one free lunch (why lunch?) in the pool bar but because of the quality of the food we never bothered with that.
The snack bar is not really a snack bar. It is sitting down in the restaurant between meals and order from a snackmenu. We used the snack bar once on the day we were leaving. In hindsight I wish I would have used it more often. The food was pretty good.
All in all, there's room for improvement in the food department and if the "local gin" was replaced with anything even resembling gin it would be a big improvement but other than that I really liked the hotel.
