This is my 4th year in a row at the kanika resorts first two years at ayia napa then 3rd year at paphos both amazing resorts me and my girlfriend absolutely love it. In paphos the evening entertainment had Gary in it and he made it for us giving 110% every performance and this year we wondered who would be doing the evening entertainment and to our amazement gary walks out and made our day instantly. Wednesday sweet soul music with all the lads was incredible, all the entertainment staff and staff in general are very polite and very good but for us Gary stands out from the crowd giving 110% every performance. Highly recommend these resorts to anyone . Room 406
We came for the Tuesday evening show. It was above expectations and everyone are proper skilled and enthusiastic performers!
Back for a forth time at this resort.
Restaurants and pools are great, location is really convenient for some very nice beaches but by far the best experience are the shows in the Arena. The entertainment is west end quality and Mama Mia tonight was fantastic 😀
We stayed at this resort from the 22nd August through to the 2nd September, and it’s simple to summarize: we absolutely loved it! Our kids had a blast, and we loved it so much that we’ve already changed our holiday in June 2027 to this hotel because we simply cannot wait to come back. Thank you to all at the Olympic Lagoon Resort for making our summer holiday one to remember!
Pre-Arrival Before coming to the resort, we had a few queries which were responded to quickly and efficiently by the hotel guest services team. The responses were friendly and really aided our excitement of getting to the resort! The hotel arranged a taxi transfer for us from the airport, which was ready and waiting when we arrived at Larnaca and got us to the hotel within about 30 minutes.
Arrival On arrival at around 1:00 AM, we were greeted with a wonderful reception area and a warm welcome. We were immediately offered cooling towels and a refreshing welcome drink. The friendly reception team provided us with all the relevant information, our all-inclusive wristbands, and assigned a concierge to take us and our baggage to our room. We got into a golf buggy and were taken straight to our room where our luggage was carried in for us. The Room (Family Junior Suite 546) We stayed in Family Junior Suite 546, which was modern, bright, clean, and offered a pool/garden view.
Layout & Storage: The layout consisted of a large main bedroom and a separate twin room with two single beds for the children, separated by a sliding door. There was a balcony and a large family bathroom featuring double sinks and a large bath with both rainfall and standard shower options. The room has a large wardrobe and chest of drawers with ample storage space, plus a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, and plenty of mirrors.
Special Touches: We were provided with a lovely welcome note from our chambermaid, Margarita, as well as a note from the hotel welcoming us to our room. The hotel provides gowns and slippers, and we absolutely loved how the children even had their own matching mini-version, which was just adorable!
Mini-Fridge & Toiletries: The mini-fridge on arrival included snacks, sandwiches, and drinks. It is topped up daily with two Colas, two Sprites, two Orange Juices, and a bottle of water (and the hotel will happily change these to sugar-free varieties on request!). The bathroom contains everything you will need, including shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, which are all branded Elemis and simply lovely.
Food & Drink The food and drink at this hotel is top class! The overall lighting and feel in all of the restaurants in the evening is simply beautiful. This hotel has completely nailed good food and good environments to dine in all round!
À la Carte Restaurants: The choice of à la carte restaurants is wonderful and we were lucky enough to try all of them except Garibaldi. 7 Orchids was our absolute favourite as we love Pan-Asian food. The hotel kindly changed our entitlement for Garibaldi over to Orchids without any problem, meaning during our 11-night stay we got to eat there 3 times! The other à la carte restaurants are also of brilliant quality and we ate lots of lovely dishes.
Rock N’ Roll American Diner: We really enjoyed the American Diner. The food here was simply amazing and the milkshakes were a real "wow" moment! You can eat here for lunch and dinner as many times as you like. The theming for this—and all of the restaurants across the resort—is great and creates a real holiday feel!
Snackeria: For lunchtime, there is Snackeria serving fresh pizza, sandwiches, cakes, and coffees, among other things. They will toast the sandwiches and baguettes without question, and the pasta pots here are lovely too! The donuts were super tasty and went down so well with an iced coffee.
The Buffet Restaurant: Amazing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast offers egg dishes, pancakes, and other items that you order directly to your table, alongside the main buffet option which was always cooked fresh, hot, and of excellent quality (the Cumberland Sausage and English Bacon were delicious!). The evening meals are themed each day with a varied choice of food, including show cooking, fresh pasta dishes made ready each night, stone-baked pizza, and a small children's buffet for fussy eaters. The restaurant is brilliantly managed and refilled fresh constantly. Even though we were there in peak time, it never felt overly busy. Drinks are brought to your table by the friendly waiting staff and you are walked directly to a table, so there are no long queues or waiting around!
Drinks & Scoops Ice Cream: Drinks-wise, they have an extensive cocktail and drinks menu including branded spirits and even Kopparberg cider on tap! The cocktails are wonderful, and again, the waiting staff do an excellent job serving you and will happily make drinks based on your personal tastes and preferred flavours. You will not go thirsty here at all! In addition to the restaurants and bars across the complex, there is Scoops, a wonderful ice cream and milkshake parlour. Our kids loved the shakes and so did we! The banana ice cream is delicious.
Pool Areas Allocated Sunbeds: Allocated sunbeds are an amazing, holiday-changing concept! We absolutely loved this. Sunbeds are allocated on your first day with the option to change as other beds become available throughout your stay. The stress-free holiday this creates will definitely keep me coming back!
Pool Options & Service: The pool areas here are wonderful. We stayed around the top pool mostly, but the lagoon pools and kids' splash parks are also great—large and warm with plenty of space for a swim. Where we were sat, we received additional poolside services such as an afternoon cooler drink, facial misting, sunglasses cleaning, and cold towels! It was truly exceptional service.
Towels & Maintenance: Pool towels are available from the service kiosk whenever you'd like them, and there are even drop-boxes for if you go to the beach with them or simply want a fresh set throughout the day. It's great how you receive both a larger sunbed towel and a separate drying towel! The pool areas were cleaned regularly and were spotless. Any issues you raise with the pool attendants are immediately dealt with—one day a wheel came loose on our sunbed and it was fixed within 5 minutes of reporting it! Note that pool inflatables are not allowed, which was wonderful for keeping things peaceful, but you can play with a small catch ball or bat-and-ball set without issue (the key here is just respecting other guests).
Serenity Pool: As a couple with children, the moments we were able to spend time in the hotel's Serenity Pool were bliss. This spa pool is unreal with a swim-up bar and friendly staff. The vibe is one of chilled-out relaxation and we loved it! The only minor downside to this pool is that around midday you occasionally get the odd louder guest drinking beer and not really fitting in with the relaxed vibe, but that's certainly not the hotel's fault.
Lazy River: In addition to the pool areas, there is a lazy river with floats available. This is such a relaxing way to float along, take in the beautiful flowers and plants along the ride, and get a different perspective of the resort! The kids loved this feature too, although it would be even better if it moved you around just a tad quicker.
Entertainment Now, there is not much to say here outside of AMAZING! Day and night, the staff here go all out. Kids & Daytime Activities: The daytime activities for the kids are extensive with an excellent kids' and teens' club. They run the clubs throughout the day right up until 11:00 PM! The Movie Night from 9:00 PM till 11:00 PM was a great opportunity for us adults to enjoy a nice, peaceful meal without the children. The poolside activities such as the midday pool disco, aqua gym, and other games looked super fun, and our boys particularly enjoyed playing shuffleboard! There is also a play area located next to Scoops for the children.
Evening Shows & Music: The evening entertainment was out of this world! Massive congratulations to the Kanika All Stars for putting on a fabulous show each night in the Experience Arena. We loved each and every one, and they really are a professional-grade team, which is evident in their performances. Our favourites were Cher, Mamma Mia, and Queen, but really it's hard to pick out of them all! At the pool bar, there is also lighter evening entertainment in the form of varied live music acts; we enjoyed many nights listening to the tunes and having a drink even after the main show had finished.
Staff The staff here cannot do enough for you. From reception to bar staff to entertainment, they all excel in what they do, and we were never let down by them at all during our stay. Our chambermaid, Margarita, was simply wonderful and had us laughing most mornings with her humour! Lydia in the restaurant serving us each morning was a total delight too—really friendly, welcoming, and great with the kids. The bar staff work so hard preparing your drinks and are always willing to adapt recipes for your tastes, and the waiting staff across the resort get to know you and always serve you with a smile. It really makes the holiday that bit extra special.
Hotel Grounds The grounds of the hotel are well-kept and stunning, with lots of lovely areas to wander around and see. At night, the lighting is perfect and gives off a really luxurious feel. The gardens are very well maintained and, again, the whole resort is super clean and felt very safe to walk around.
Hotel Location The location of the hotel is perhaps a little bit marmite depending on what you're after. For beach lovers, Landa and Makronissos beaches are just across the road and are the most amazing beaches! Nissi Beach is also only about a 15-minute walk away. For going into town or finding more shops and walks, you need to travel by bus or taxi—for us, this was only a minor inconvenience and didn't affect our stay at all. We ventured into Ayia Napa for an evening stroll, which was quite an experience, but we had fun! There is also a supermarket with souvenirs and other bits located right next door to the back of the hotel, which is slightly cheaper than the supermarket inside the hotel.
Overall View It's simple—we loved it here! Our kids loved it here, and as I mentioned, we've already rebooked for 2027 because we just cannot wait to return. A massive thank you to everyone at the Olympic Lagoon Resort for making our summer holiday so unforgettable!
Our third visit but first at the Fishermans Village adults only. The room was lovely and the pool bar service was a fantastic treat with a young man called Dipesh coming around to take and supply drinks orders. He did a fantastic and deserves a special mention. Food to usual high standard and the wife is a vegetarian. Loads of choice especially at the buffet. Also special mentions to Fanos snd Steve at the pool bar and Xristoulla in the snack area for all the hard work they do. See you all next year!
