Olympic Lagoon Resort Ayia Napa

Well where do I start, let’s start with what a fantastic hotel this is!!!

We arrived at end of June just after midnight and were greeted with a lovely cool drink and super smooth check-in process. We were informed that there was also some food and drink and in our fridge which was great as we were starving.

Our first full day started off slightly later than usual due to the late night. We went for breakfast and the main restaurant buffet is great, there really is something for everyone. After breakfast we went down to the pool area and this is the best thing ever……….. your sunbeds are allocated to you for the full time you are there so there is no need to rush out and claim them every morning. There is a big computerised map showing the available ones and you pick the ones you want and they are yours for the duration of your stay, how good is that????

We picked ours next to the pool and the pool bar so didn’t have far to go for a refreshment. Now, when I mention the pool bar, the guys and ladies that work are fantastic, always with a smile on their faces. I have to name-check the bar staff Steve and Fanos (ask for their drink specials, they do adult and kid friendly ones and they are all great) as they were fantastic with their drink making skills. The waiting staff, Ovidio, Muhammad, Karina, Alexandr and Pradeep were so great, to be fair everyone that worked in there was great.

Moving away from drink and to the food there are plenty of special restaurants to book and you can book them through the app, we got the log-in details on arrival. We booked the Captain’s Deck, The Greats and the Seven Orchids. The Captain’s deck was ok, staff were great, which is a common theme throughout the whole hotel but the food just wasn’t for us. I would recommend asking them for time between courses as we felt it was like a conveyor belt and didn’t get time to enjoy it. The Greats was absolutely fine and we all enjoyed it but our favourite was the Seven Orchids, so much so we booked it for a second time during our stay. The American Diner is also nice if you just fancy a burger, ribs or steak. If you don’t want to book anything then there are theme nights every night in the main buffet restaurant.

Our hotel room was looked after by Prakesh and it was always kept spotlessly clean so no faults there at all.

We also went walks out of the hotel into Ayia Napa and also to the local beaches that were great. If you want a day at the beach and you want sun loungers and an umbrella then it’s €3.50 per lounger and €3 for an umbrella.

All in all I would say it was fantastic and would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

One wee bit of advice regarding tipping is that if you give it directly to the person then it’s theirs and doesn’t get split between the others or if you want it to go to everyone then there’s boxes at the bar and restaurant for that.

We first visited this hotel four years ago and enjoyed it so much that we returned again two years later. Having now experienced it more than once, I can confidently say it truly lives up to its 5-star rating.

The resort is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and maintained to a very high standard. The staff are friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The food, facilities, entertainment, and overall atmosphere were all excellent, making for another fantastic family holiday.

We particularly loved the assigned pool beds, which took away the stress of finding sunbeds each day and made the holiday much more relaxing. Above all, the service was exceptional, every member of staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests had the best possible experience

My only small criticism compared to our previous visit was the change to the pool bar’s water service. Bottled water was no longer available there and was instead served in plastic cups. When collecting bottled water elsewhere, there seemed to be restrictions on the number we could take, which was a little frustrating as we were travelling as a family of five.

That said, after speaking with Guest Services, they were incredibly helpful and arranged for larger bottles of water to be delivered directly to our room, which resolved the issue quickly.

Aside from that minor point, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return again. A truly deserving 5-star resort.

Fantastic holiday at Olympia Lagoon Ayia Napa. Friendly staff and fun atmosphere, my room was lovely, clean and a very comfy bed, we were a group of 13 mix of adults and children and the resort catered for all, good choice of food and we tried a few of the restaurants, loved the adult swim up bar, we all had a great holiday, would love to come back
