Nissi Beach

My Grandma tripped over a step in the bathrooms outside and broke her hip, which required surgery. There were no signs to say there was a trip hazard, and there was no safety precautions anywhere. The hotel staff were terrible at taking action upon the situation.

We recently stayed at Nissi Beach for two weeks, including our wedding, and while there were some wonderful aspects to our stay, unfortunately our overall experience was more disappointing than we expected from a hotel of this standard. Firstly, I want to give credit where it is absolutely deserved. The organisation of our wedding and the food were beautiful, and we genuinely could not fault that part of our experience. The attention to detail and the way we were made to feel on our wedding day were amazing. The servers and the chef were fantastic, and we would like to give a special mention to Dafne, who helped make our day feel as seamless as possible. These are things we will genuinely remember and appreciate. The hotel itself is beautiful, and our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided, so we have no complaints whatsoever regarding housekeeping. Unfortunately, outside of the wedding itself, there were several things that left us disappointed. The biggest issue was the air conditioning in our room. It simply did not work properly for the entire two-week stay. We reported this on three separate occasions. Someone came to the room and told us there was nothing wrong with it, despite the fact that it continued not to work throughout our stay. In the Cyprus heat, this made the room extremely uncomfortable, and it was particularly frustrating to have reported it repeatedly without it being resolved. We were also disappointed with the timings of the wedding preparations. Our ceremony was at 4pm, yet we were required to be ready for hair and makeup at 9am. This meant that the bridesmaids had their makeup on for around eight hours before the wedding ceremony even took place. For such an important occasion, we felt the timings could have been planned much more appropriately around the ceremony time. We were also very disappointed with the lack of flexibility regarding our departure day. Having spent a considerable amount of money not only on our holiday but on getting married at the hotel, we had hoped for a little understanding and goodwill when we asked about a late checkout. We only needed a room from approximately 12pm until 5pm. We were told there were no rooms available, yet when we checked online ourselves, rooms appeared to be available to book. Whatever the reason, we were left feeling that very little effort was made to accommodate us. Another smaller but disappointing experience involved our room keys. We wanted to leave them safely with reception while we went to the beach so that we could all go into the sea snorkelling together. We were told the hotel could not hold them and were instead advised to take a bag with us or put the keys in our pockets. For a hotel of this standard, we found this unnecessarily unhelpful. I would also like to specifically exclude the bar staff from any criticism. They work extremely hard, are consistently pleasant and always go out of their way to speak to guests and make them feel welcome. Their attitude and customer service were exactly what you would hope for. Ultimately, customer service goes a very long way, particularly when guests have chosen a hotel for something as important and expensive as their wedding. While we had some genuinely wonderful experiences, we felt that the level of customer service and willingness to help when we had issues was lacking. Would we return? Probably not. That is disappointing to say because the hotel itself is beautiful, our wedding day was genuinely special, and there are many individual members of staff who deserve recognition. However, for us, the overall experience did not meet the level of customer care we expected, and that is something that makes a huge difference when deciding whether to return.

Nissi beach excels in every aspect — from its excellent amenities and facilities to the outstanding service and exceptional food. The staff truly make the experience special, demonstrating the highest level of professionalism, genuine hospitality, and eagerness to please. They go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed, valued, and completely at home. It was a truly fabulous experience, and we would be delighted to return.
