Just returned from asterias beach yesterday 6th sept 2026. What a fantastic hotel this is. The hotel is busy but had a very chilled vibe about it there was never any big queues at the bars for amount of people there and you were served quickly. They had different people at different stations along the bar. The location of the hotel is on the outskirts of ayia Napa and the bus stop is a 10 min walk then 15 mins on the bus to the centre. If you want to be near the action just bear this in mind. The guests at the hotel are predomently made up of German and Eastern European guests, with some English but it wasn’t a problem. The rooms in the hotel were clean, there was only 2 of us so we had more than enough space with lots of storage also. and huge glass fronted balcony. We had a garden view room and this was a side sea view also overlooking the pool at the side of the hotel. Most rooms will have some type of sea view because of the way it’s situated. The hotel sits right on one of the best beaches in Cyprus. makronisiss beach it is stunning crystal clear water and warm too. There’s no need to hire loungers on the beach just get off your hotel one and pop up and down as you please. The sunloungers by the main pool majority of them are gone by 9 am with odd ones still available. We are early risers so wasn’t a problem getting one. Pool towels are also provided which you can change daily between 9am and 12 pm. The pool towels are the size of a bath towel and do not cover the lounger so if I stayed again I’d take my own beach towel. The all inclusive at the hotel doesn’t include levels bar even tho it’s part of the hotel. The ale, spirits and soft drinks are not branded. I get the ale and spirts not being branded but never known soft drinks to be unbranded. The blue angel cocktail was lovely tho as well as the coffee. The food at this hotel. Just WOW. Could not fault anything at all. Credit were credit is due. Outstanding. You can get anything and everything carved meats every day lamb, beef, pork, chicken, ribs, chops, kebabs, salmon, crab, sushi, fish all diff salads. Fresh fruit. The lemon cake, pineapple cake and profiteroles were amazing. The food is also very quickly replenished you don’t see any empty trays no matter what time you enter the restaurant. They have a system going also so you’re not looking around for a table with food in your hand. It works very well as the restaurant does get very busy. 10/10 for the food and the way the staff run it. When checking out you can use the spa to get a shower. They give you a towel shower gel and shampoo is provided plus a hairdryer. There are no plug sockets in there so you can not plug your own hairdryer or straighteners in. I asked at reception as I use my own hairdryer and straighteners and they told me after my shower in the spa to go back and they found me a hotel room to dry and straighten my hair which was very much appreciated. A system like capo bay in protaras would be great at this hotel. They keep 2 rooms free and people leaving can book a 30 min slot in the room to freshen up throughout the day. Just a thought. Overall would I stay in this hotel again. 100% yes.
We had an amazing time here overall. We booked two rooms — one swim-up room and one room with a view. The hotel staff were really welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout our stay.
Swim-Up Room Our swim-up room was very clean, and the pool was lovely and warm. We were really glad we chose the swim-up room, as it made a huge difference to our holiday. We spent a lot of our time there and never really got the chance to use the other pools.
The TV channels were mainly in German, with only around three English-speaking channels that we could find, so there wasn't a great selection for British guests.
All-Inclusive & Bars I wouldn't describe the hotel as a true all-inclusive, as quite a few drinks and options weren't included in the package.
The Pool Bar had a good selection, but for some reason the drinks often seemed to already be warm when they were served, which was disappointing.
Golden Sands Pool Bar also had a good selection of drinks, but again, they often seemed to be served warm.
We really liked the Chrisi Akti Cocktail Bar. There was a great selection of cocktails and we enjoyed spending time here, although quite a few of the cocktails weren't included in the all-inclusive package.
The Panorama Rooftop Bar was fabulous! It had a great atmosphere and the service was excellent. We really enjoyed this bar.
We absolutely loved Levels Bar. The drinks were freezing cold, the food was great and we had a brilliant time there. Unfortunately, it isn't included in the hotel's all-inclusive package, despite being only a few steps away from the hotel.
Restaurant & Snacks The restaurant had a great selection of food. However, we really didn't like having to get changed out of our swimwear just to go inside and get snacks during the day. Because of this, most of the time we didn't bother and ended up ordering takeaway instead. It would be much better if there was a casual poolside snack option where guests could grab something without having to completely change.
Sun Loungers The sun-lounger situation was another frustrating issue. People would put towels on the loungers and then leave them there for most, if not all, of the day without actually using them. This meant other guests didn't get a fair chance to use the loungers, despite many of them appearing to be empty for hours.
Thankfully, because we had a swim-up room, this didn't affect us as much. However, if we hadn't had the swim-up room, I think we would have really struggled to enjoy the pool area. The hotel definitely needs to monitor this better and introduce or enforce a clearer policy regarding reserving sun loungers.
Entertainment The entertainment was great. We had a really fun time playing bingo, and the pool games and daytime activities were also really enjoyable.
Atmosphere Unfortunately, this was probably the biggest downside for us. The hotel seemed to cater predominantly to German-speaking tourists, and our experience with some guests had quite a big impact on the overall atmosphere of our holiday.
We found a number of guests to be quite unfriendly. There was a lot of staring and, at times, it made us feel quite uncomfortable. Of course, this doesn't apply to everyone, but it was noticeable enough that it affected our personal experience of the hotel.
Thankfully, we met some lovely British guests during our stay and had a fabulous time with them, which really added to our holiday.
Overall We genuinely really liked the hotel itself and will definitely be returning to Cyprus. The hotel was lovely, the staff were welcoming and attentive, our swim-up room was fantastic, and there were lots of things we really enjoyed.
However, I don't think we would return to this particular hotel. The main reasons would be the atmosphere created by some other guests, the problems with people reserving sun loungers all day, and the fact that the all-inclusive package didn't really feel like a true all-inclusive, with quite a few drinks and options requiring additional payment.
Despite these issues, we still had an amazing holiday and made some brilliant memories.
We stayed at the Asterias Beach Hotel for 6 days and had a wonderful experience. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. Absolutely spotless rooms and pool areas. Plenty of choice of food from the buffet whereby every day had a different theme.
The entertainment crew were fantastic and looked after my 10 year old son. So a big thank you to Adam who encourage and praised my boy.
Although not everything is included on the all inclusive package regarding beverages or alcoholic drinks plenty of choices were still available.
The front of desk staff were extremely helpful with any queries I had and were very polite.
Makronisos beach is also one of the best in Cyprus and is literally a few steps walk from the hotel for those who prefer the sea and beach.
I highly recomment Asterias Beach Hotel for couples or families. Its also just far away enough from the busy Ayia Napa Square for those wanting a quieter time.
We will definitely be coming back next year but for a longer stay this time.
See you next year! ☺️
Arsinia Spa exceeded every expectation. Shaggy was brilliant with the bookings, and Natalie gave a massage that was genuinely next‑level. She tailored the depth pf massage perfectly, concentrated on all my problematic areas, and didn’t waste a single minute of the massage session. On top of that, we got a fantastic deal for two massages, and the cost was remarkably low compared to UK spa prices. It was the most effective, relaxing, and professional massage I’ve ever had. Truly superb. Premises were clean, professional, highly recommended.
My wife and I have just returned from a week-long stay at the Asterias Beach Hotel, which was a first visit for us, and what a wonderful stay we had.
We think this is the best all-inclusive hotel we have stayed in over the last 10 years !! As we checked in very late after the resturant had closed, the hotel brought up some sandwiches and snacks straight up to our room after check-in. With thought this was a lovely touch. The other interesting thing on check-in is that each person is gven a plastic water bottle with the hotel branding on it, which you can keep. You fill these up for free at designated cold water stations in a number of the bars. The hotel also has a lovely little shop which is very resonably priced.
The hotel is modern, spotlessly clean, in a fantastic location right by Makronissos beach, has superb facilities and well-appointed rooms. In our room we particularly loved the walk in power shower and the fact that the in-room safe is free to use (a rarity these days especially compared to many places). Towels are also changed daily. The food in the restaurant is of very high quality with lots of variety. The restaurant has a different theme night every day which is a lovely touch.
The pool areas are also spotlessly cleaned and well maintained with more than enough sun loungers and umbrellas available to go around for guests to use.
All the staff are really friendly and engaging, from the cleaners, gardeners, restaurant, bar and reception staff. Particular praise for the lovely cleaning lady on floor one for looking after us, the reception staff for dealing with our queries and Antonis (think I have his name right?), in the Restaurant. Always gave us a lovely welcome and fussed over us at lunch and dinner.
The hotel has a varied evening entertainment programme which usually starts at 9pm, we loved the Cypriot dancing group in particular. There are also activities in the pool and varios locations around the hotel during the day.
Couple of notes; drinks are served via table service at the restaurant during lunch and dinner and at the cocktail bar, with the AI package offering a wide variety of beverages. The free Wi-Fi is exceptional in all parts of the hotel, working in IT Digital Services myself I was very impressed with this. We never experienced any buffering issues at all.
The beach area can get very busy during the day as it is open to the public, we got up early every day at 7am and went for a 45min dip before breakfast, again this was fantastic mixing with the older locals in their swimming club who use it for their daily exercises etc. Great to see the beach before the masses descended on it.
One useful tip - if you have a late flight on your last day (as we did), the Spa (which is amazing by the way) has locker, shower and changing facilities available and towels can be provided too as part of the AI package. There is a left luggage store as well located by reception. This allowed us to spend the last few hours of our holiday relaxing by the pool.
Main clientel at the hotel are german speaking, however quite a few of us brits were there too and a springling of other nationalities.
So the bottom line is, would we return. Absolutely, its amazing !!
